Came here 2 nights ago for dinner after a few years away. The portion size is still huge as before. But the taste has changed. The chicken nuggets are bland and greasy. The satay lamb fried noodle could use more satay sauce. With plenty of similar cuisine options around i don't think we'll be coming back anytime soon.

Promptly greeted in a welcoming and friendly manner. Just as quickly seated. We were mid Sunday afternoon yet the restaurant still was 50% full with couple large groups many booths full. Ordered a number of our favourites starting with their fantastic Wonton Soup. We have coming to Mr. Ho Wonton for decades and stop whenever we are in their area in Burnaby.

Post fatherâs day dinner. Weâve been told about this place by friends before and finally gave it a try. Itâs small but clean and trendy with helpful staff. Food is pretty good with enough variety to choose from. Just needs a bit more flavouring. Laksa was rich but needed a bit more punch.

In the mood to try out a new restaurant, we went to the Indian Wok in Burnaby three days ago, but only after we had read all the rave reviews about it and were convinced that with so many people vouching for it, the food must be really good. Unfortunately, the food was not up to all the hype, and it was neither Indian nor Chinese, and regrettably so. Frying everything dipped in batter does not make it Indian, and adding a Chinese sauce to the batter-fried item does not make the dish âfusionâ cuisine, so to speak. All the items we ordered tasted the same - the chillie beef, masala fish fry, chillie chicken - all came fried in batter. Even the Manchurian chicken noodle dish had batter-fried chicken strewn on the top. The chef had just added Manchurian sauce to the whole thing. Our son barely ate a few mouthfuls, then asked for it to be packed and taken home, where it sat in the fridge and was thrown into the trash can the next day. The masala rice was so bland I had to add chillie paste to it. The only saving grace was the chicken dumplings we ordered as an appetizer. It came with an exquisite garnish on top, and starting off with those delectable dumplings, we were misled into thinking that the other items would be great as well. The $75 plus we spent for the three of us was money ill-spent, in my opinion. Would we return to the Indian Wok or recommend it to others? I donât think so.

I used to give this place great reviews. Unfortunately they have really gone downhill. Maybe business is too good so they get arrogant and cocky. Service is poor. There are still great servers but a few bad apples really ruin the experience.Not sure what the foods contain, but I always feel a weird aftertaste with their food that I never experience at other places.

For decades now, we have order in food from the Burnaby Palace. It always has been good and the price seems more then fair.Early (or late) in the year, a few friends join us to celebrate getting through Christmas. We have been doing this for many years with the same group. The place that we go to is always a Chinese food restaurant. (Just in case you donât know, there are probably thousands in metro Vancouver).I was the only one that had eaten here before. This was just lunches with the Chair of a Vancouver based charity group. So, on my say so, this year we reserved a table at the Burnaby Palace.The service and food were wonderful. Everyone really had a great time.However, there were a few televisions showing Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, or some African wild life show about apes. Who new that these could be so distracting? In reality, many eyes were glued to see who could come up with the next question or buy a vowel. This and the apes building something with logs really to me, put a bit of a damper on the evening.Having stated my gripes, the rest of the group loudly sang the praises of the This year we reserved a table at the Burnaby Palace and we will be going back to celebrate getting through Christmas again.
