Visited chimoto cafe with friends in august 2017. Located at a 10 minute walking distance from the bell tower at Kawagoe.We had the coffee flavoured soft ice cream and it was delicious. The cafe serves many other ice cream flavours

The cafe is about 8 mins walk from the train station. Directly next to the main road, easy to find.Only bad point is no english or pictures on their menu for the pancakes ( but there was some english in the drinks menu)But the shop owner was kind to explain in his limited english what are the choices available.They have:1) plain pancakes 2) pancakes with bacon and egg ( and a banana, which i found out when my food arrive)3) pancakes with salad4) pancakes with banana and cream5) pancakes with mixed berriesEnjoyed the breakfast, good portion too

This isn't a place to pop in for a cheap to-go cup of coffee, but if you want to relax with a cup of coffee brewed with the bean of your choice and get a cake on the side, you should check this place out. Judging from the higher prices (Â¥550 and up for a cup of coffee) and the menu (different blend or single origin choices organized by roast strength), this place is serious about their coffee. If black coffee isn't your thing, they also serve teas and milk-enhanced coffee drinks. For snacks they offer cakes and toasts. All I got was a cappuccino (which I liked, but I'm not that discerning) while my friend and my husband got Aeropress coffees (which they liked, and they're more discerning). I think the menu is only in Japanese (my Japanese friend helped translate for us), but if you don't know Japanese I'm sure the staff could help you choose the right coffee.

bagels are becoming more and more popular in Japan. For the first time I visited Vanitoy Bagel, it was in February before Valentine's day. They had this rich chocolate bagel. so good with coffee. they also have original bagels such as potato and chedder cheese bagel and edamade (green soy) and cheese. you can either grab bagels for breakfast, or you can have a seat upstairs for meal or coffee (no elevator). If you are taking out bagels, there is sausage factory, Mio Casalo, prepared with local ingredients.

I wanted to try the Coedo brand craft beers, and that lured me in. I thought initially it was only the lower level (where there was no one sitting in the early afternoon!) but I was referred to the additional seating upstairs which was full of chatting groups and a lovely collection of art. I very much enjoyed the break, and the sweet potato craft beer I tried!
