In the past, it was known as Vasiliko (Greek: Βασιλικόν) and Michurin (Bulgarian: Мичурин). It lies on a cove 70 km southeast of Burgas, on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast at the eastern foot of Strandzha mountain, at a few kilometers from Strandzha Nature Park. As of December 2009, the town has a population of 5,884 inhabitants.

We had a repeat holiday in Primorsko this summer and thanks to restaurant Ahtamar we had the best time and food. We went through all the menu, all extremely delicious. Great service. Plenty of smile. We had grilled sea bass, grilled baby blue fish, parlenka, grilled vegetables, tarama, chicken fillet, yogurt salad.Some dishes came on time, some took very long.The BBQ fish took endless waiting and was overcooked, the grilled vegetables even more and very oily(huge portion).What they need is bettet organizing of the flow of service.

We went with our friends last night to the so called Canteen. I am happy about the quality of the food. BUT first the food came after 30min and it is always like that. Second the portions compared to the price(which is pretty high), are way to small. Other than that it is mediocre.

We were visiting the town & stopped here for lunch. The restaurant has a beautiful outdoor seating area with great views. The menu was helpfully translated by our waiter & we enjoyed a delicious meal of steak with vegetables for ourselves. With the kids enjoying a delicious carbonara, one without meat for our veggie child. We accompanied our meal with a sort of flat garlic bread which was amazing (my apologies for not remembering what it was called). The prices were reasonable, the food was delicious & it was lovely to sit in the cool shade, have a drink & watch the world go by.
