Fantastic rooftop terrace overlooking the city and volcanos. We actually visited three times in just two days. In the day for drinks and lunch and for drinks in the evening. Great live music in the evening. Three levels to the bar. Food was delicious.Wow... Thanks Molly, We appreciate the kind words. We hope to see you again next time you come through Antigua. Rincón TÃpico was suggested to us by multiple people and we honestly wouldnât have found it otherwise. Antigua is filled with little nondescript doorways that open up into huge, beautiful spaces filled with everything from boutique cafeâs to jade museums to posh night clubs. But few offer up anything close to the experience at Rincón TÃpica. In short, it didnât disappoint. After you push past the women making fresh tortillas in the entry way, you get your first glimpse. Itâs rotisserie chicken, with a giant oven in the main dining room manned by two cooks wearing big gloves and 16 whole, heavily seasoned chickens being constantly rotated, swapped around and finally chopped down the middle and thrown onto a plate with boiled potatoes and salad. The place is counter service and unpretentious; the roof is made of sheet plastic with tiny birds flying around inside waiting to pick at the leftovers and occasionally pooping on and around the 70 or so diners inside. It was hectic but the service was flawless and efficient. We ordered at the counter, got our number and found an open table. About 10 minutes later a food runner delivered our drinks and confirmed our food order. 5 minutes after that, our plate of chicken and our chili rellenos, complete with mac salad ??? and some sort of broccoli dish arrived. We thought we were ordering a side of chili rellenos cuz we wanted to try something other than the chicken. But mac salad, broccoli and chili rellenos!? Needless to say it worked and holy cow was it amazing!! I mean, really amazing. High volume, polished, barebones service and the incredible food. Absolute must visit in Antigua!

Gorgeous setting and wonderful food. My husband had steak which he rated very highly. My fish, with salad bar, was also really good. We loved the complementary consommé to start with and the service was excellent.

Went here with family recently and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. Everyone enjoyed their meals except my son who ordered the BBQ ribs. The BBQ sauce is nothing like the States so he didn't like them too much. It was some kind of local sauce, but not traditional BBQ. Other than that, the meats were good and pretty much everything was tasty. My only complaint was that the price was what you would expect in the States, not Guatemala. So, this is probably a hot spot for tourists. Service is pretty good too. Dear Stacman ; thank for you review and for you visit i apreciate you like our food our place and our service ; if you permit i would like to make an aclaration ; you are right the sauce it s not the same than in the U.S beaucause we are in Guatemala and we had our own ingredient and we dont want to copy when you travel normaly you want to taste diferent type of food ; then pricey but GOOD , yes it s pricey beaucause we use good imported product and organic product but it s not a tourist place 70 per cent of our customers are from Guatemala...And please por favor ; s il vous plait last week i was in Boulder Colorado and the price of a Quinoa Salad it s the price of a steak in my place , a pasta it s 2 steaks ; i eat a 8 onz buffalo steak in Denver the cost was 46 us wirhout tip( 18 ; 20 o 25 no choice here it s 10) ; so excuse me but Las Antorchas it a free for you and i pay 7 usd for a broccoli in a super market price of a salad in Las Antorchas...Thank you again for you visit and i m very happy than you and you family envoy the meal...

Reminds me of the great Texas style bbqâs from Austin. Pappyâs does it right. The brisket and the ribs are my favorite. My wife loves the pulled pork. It even has the Central Texas rustic, no frills charm. Aaah, and they have good imported and local handcrafted beer.

The restaurant is located on the road to Atitlán km 87 next to the Ruins of Iximche. It is quite nice, pretty wooden tables. It has a variety of dishes including international and Guatemalan dishes. We were a party of three people and we had Cheese Raclette, Chorizo, and Steak and green salads. They bring you a basket full of freshly made Tortillas ! Food good, service good, presentation of dishes very original, prices fair! Recommended!
