Reviewed By AmmanfamilyWe didn't stay overnight so I can't comment on the rooms. We spent the day here for the beach and pool. The restaurant was OK although not worth the trip from Guatemala City for the food alone. My friend really enjoyed his ceviche, though, which was huge and well-presented. The beach was clean, beautiful black sparkly sand. Unfortunately, the ocean is not really safe for swimming in this area. The pool and water features here are modest but pretty and pleasant. Utz Ztaba is down to earth and a good place for a day at the beach.

We were there just after holy week, hotel was due to close one week to allow vacation for staff, but they honored our reservation, so we had the place to ourselves with minimum staff, but great food and COFFEE!

So Much Better in Monterrico
Reviewed By marcusg123I've stayed in many places in Monterrico and this was by far the most disappointing. There are literally no room amenities here. I had to upgrade to a Three-bedroom at a superior price because of no other rooms available and all they did for the price was throw in an extra bed in a small room. For $200 a night you'd at least expect a microwave? Coffee pot? Small refrigerator? Ice Bucket? NOPE. They don't want you to bring anything into this place so you can pay for it all at their bar and restaurant, so add another $100 per night for two. The "free breakfast" included with the room offered 3 options (Tipico, 3 pancakes, fruit). I literally had to beg someone for an ice bucket which turned into a large glass of ice. Our room was also too far from the one apparent wifi modem so it didn't work in my room or at the restaurant. The deck out front is nice and the property is well maintained and the beach is beautiful. If I hadn't been to other properties on the beach in Monterrico I'd probably have thought this was fine. I won't be coming back here again.

Cayman Suites is located at Km 10.5 carretera a Monterrico, Aldea Gariton, Taxisco Santa Rosa. We have 28 rooms, distributed as 4 Cayman Suites, 4 Arena Suites, 13 standard and 7 triple rooms. Our hotel has two pools, Restaurant and beach front.
Great relaxing hotel on the beach with nice rooms, decent drinks, but somewhat overpriced food for the quality.
Reviewed By soonersokuLocation: The hotel is located directly on the beach and easy to find along the main road to Monterrico. Atmosphere: Super chill and fairly quiet, a great spot for couples, or families. There were quite a few kids in both pools, but they weren't overrun with kids by any means. The in pool bar was on the smaller side, so it didn't seem to get too overrun by people looking to party. It did however keep me in the pool longer than I otherwise would have been. Rooms: The room we had was comfortable with all the amenities you would expect and included an en-suite bathroom with a large shower, air conditioning, and a newer flat screen TV. Food & Drink: The drinks are a little pricier than you would get in other hotels in the area, but were pretty good all things considered. The food on the other hand was pricier than you would expect for the quality. It wasn't necessarily bad food, but it was priced as if it would be a much higher quality than it was. Amenities: The pools were nice and refreshing and well maintained. The poolside bar was a nice spot to hang out, but is a little small which kept the crowds down. The bathrooms poolside were nice and clean, and the grounds were very well kept. They even keep a live crocodile on site which is a really cool touch.

Very good and clean
Reviewed By Bjarne EWe ordered via booking.com. Booking.com is totally crap and as a result I made an error when booking. The frontdesk fixed my error excellently and made our stay fantastic. The inhouse pool is perfect, the inhouse restaurant is very good and the rooms are great. Never, ever, stay in Monterrico without aircondition on your room. I would have melted if we didnt have it. The experience of the hotel was above all expectations and dont be fooled that the neigbourhood is a bit worn down. The hotel is not.

Excellent Beach Stay
Reviewed By swapna nThis is a very cute little hotel,room was spacious and kids loved the swimming pools, Beach is right in front of the restaurant which is also run by the same hotel. Bfast on the oceanfront is added bonus. Staff is very friendly and always greeted us with smiling faces. The views are amazing from the top floor. · Breakfast options were restricted and they were not happy about replacing any same price options. They actually tried to charge us for that. The place is little far and roads to get there are not that paved ,so it gets difficult when it rains heavily.

Reviewed By wale223The place is fabulous! Is warm peaceful and cozy. There is a big pool, a children pool and a jacuzzy! Richard and his staff are very kind, helpful and friendly with each guest. The food is delicious, what I loved the most was the coconut bread that Richard made, along with their pancakes ?, its difficult to choose a dish to review because all of them are delicious. This is a pet friendly space, the attention to my Fury babies was good too, Richard offered some water and food for them, and my pets had a great time there. Richard gave us a room in the 1st floor with a small front yard for them to do their needs when they needed. The beach is right across the street, it's pa very safe place. The place is good for relaxing, it's quiet and peaceful, nice for families and couples and pets. I'm looking forward to go back again. I definitely recommend this place. You will fall in love with the place, food and their kind staff.
