They have a nice garden so you can eat out. It is quite nice for summer and for spring. They brought us a welcome drink, which i always appreciate. The personnel in my point of view was a little bit arrogant but anyway polite and nice with us. The food was quite average with the tendency to be not that good.

Is the fifth time that I am a guest of this fantastic restaurant and I have to say that is really excellent. The strong asset is the meat that is definitely super especially the american one.Great desserts.High international service standards, good choice of wines and a so exciting view of the Audi headquarter and museum. The parking is included. If I must find some possible improvements it could be a larger proposal/ a little bit more fantasy in the menu and a warmer atmosphere.Anyway congratulations and see You again.LuigiDear TripAdvisor user, thank you for your feedback about our restaurant AVUS at the Audi forum Ingolstadt. We are glad that we where able to prepare some nice hours for you.We are also happy to hear that you praise the quality of our food.We take your criticism very seriously and we will try to put it into practice.Hopefully we see you soon and best greetingsYour Avus team

This is a very small place but the food is always very very good! The staff sometimes is quite strange and this can make in my opinion the atmosphere not so so good. But having around you people drinking beers and be relaxed in there, in an authentic place is nice.

Rasthof Restaurant Pauli

Sitting in the garden of the Pauli was enjoyable; we went there for lunch and the food was really good, as was the service. I had various grilled meats with fries and rice (bit high on the carbs, I know), and I thoruoghly enjoyed it. If I was hungry and close to the Pauli again, I'd return without a doubt. The reason Pauli is not getting five stars is the noise from the nearby motorway; it makes it hard to have a decent conversation when sitting in the garden.

We were lucky to get a table at this very popular restaurant which we shared with a friendly local couple who recommended several special dishes. The Daniel was closing for annual holidays that night. The service was good and efficient with good beers for the others and a very passable Italian red wine for me. The disappointing element was we asked if they took credit cards, but they are only local ones and I had to walk to an ATM to pay the bill.

Schanzer Rutschn

Reviewed By MumamiaHitchin

I travelled across to Ingolstadt with two work colleagues for a business meeting, we arrived on Tuesday afternoon for a Wednesday morning meeting. Our business host had recommended Schanzer Rutschn as a traditional Bavarian venue serving trad food and good beer - she wasn't wrong! We all opted for the pork dishes in various guises and all thoroughly enjoyed the variety of well cooked food which was duly served. The pork was excellent, judging by both the colour of the meat and the flavour I would say the pork was outdoor reared, lovely dark meat with a delicious rich flavour and lovely tender, not fatty, consistency. My colleagues had the Chef's special and the pork cooked in beer, both said their meals were fab, portions huge and the most enormous dumpling served with the meals, which also come with a braised, pickled cabbage side. I had the shoulder of pork again with the dumpling Boulder and a side of cabbage salad. Great crisp cackling and a delicious sauce...and what a gigantic portion! We were offered side salads as an up-sell which we all accepted - don't, you'll never manage it, all three salads returned untouched. The staff are happy to box anything you can't manage, as the portions are sufficient for a small family this is sensible though not practical if you're staying in a hotel.Weiss bier and wine selection excellent, if you sample enough of it you can have a go on the giant wooden slide before you go!Highly recommended...

Future in-laws showed us this beer garden on our first night in Ingolstadt. Great start for enjoying our time in Germany. Large chestnut tree's created the traditional beer garden setting and the service was warm and friendly. We tried our first currywurst and other basic foods which were enjoyable but not terrific. Of course the beer was the beer. Just what you would expect.

Mensa Canisiuskonvikt

Reviewed By FeliiixD

Since my latest job at a car manufacturer brought me from the states to the quiet little town of Ingolstadt right in the heart of Bavaria, I've pretty much went to every restaurant this town has to offer and I've never bothered to write a review about any of them. Not because I didn't like the food, but because nothing ever stood out to me in particular. Look no further, we have found a place.I've discovered the Mensa accidentally while walking through the city center looking for a place to have lunch. The location is very low-key and is situated on the side of the "Canisiuskonvikt", a church funded living institution for students. Inside the vaults of the old structure, Chef de Cuisine "Manni" and his charming staff cook up some lovely treats that have young and old excited. The menu is filled with german classics like Schnitzel and Currywurst, but also has something in stock the adventurers with dishes never even heard of before, like the "Indianer-Kartoffel-Pfanne" (something like Native American Potato Bowl). For his creations Manni uses only locally sourced ingredients also and offers a delicious salad bar while changing his menu every. day. of. the. week. (!)The interior is not very comfortable (then again this seems to be a trend with popular restaurants these days) but, just like the staff, is very authentic and gives the whole place a really traditional, down south vibe. Most restaurants in this city try to be something they're not and that is what's most refreshing about "Mensa" - the honesty. What you see is what you get and what you get is goddamn delicious. Oh and have I mentioned that this place is dirt cheap as well? Unfortunately the restaurant doesn't take reservations and is only open for lunch during the week, but I've always managed to secure a table. There is no service at the tables which means you have to carry your food to and from the table to the cleaning bin yourself. Such a refreshing twist. At the moment, the place has yet only been discovered by the local culinary scene, but I have no doubt that the public will catch on fast. If you're looking for cheap, but very sophisticated bavarian cooking that is sure to make a memorable impact, I encourage you to pay Manni a visit.
