Very unpleasant experience
Reviewed By Ayezz123I was booked the Deluxe Twin room at Grand Harvest Banyuwangi through AirAsia for staying period 25th - 27th December . When I was check-in the reception only mentioned the room number without explaining or confirming my room type. They assign me on room 120, when I was arrived at the room, the terrace is still dirty with the leftovers dishes from previous guests, when I entered the room I was surprised to find out that they give me Double bed room, so I called the reception several times and asked them to give me the right room, they said they can't do so as the booking confirmation they received from Expedia are saying I booked double room, I corrected them by saying I was booked through AirAsia not Expedia. They told me to send the booking confirmation to their Hotlines WA, so I did. They told me they can only give me extra bed as the twin room is full at the moment, I refused the offer by thinking how can I put my son on uncomfy bed while I'm sleeping on the comfy one? I also think how can they suggest me such things? so I said to them the problem between your system and AirAsia is not my problem, I pay for twin room and I want to have what I paid for, I don't care whether you should ask the guest out of the room. After long waiting they moved me to the Twin room, but it was a very bad room, it's room no 133 it's the 2nd room from the end area, the terrace only have 1 chair (not pair) and 1 table, at night there's so many insects coming in, the bathroom door is filthy, there are still a lot of paint stain on it. Bottom line is the service is so unpleasant, the room is not good. For sure is not worth to pay for the money that I've spent. Very bad experience.

Reviewed By Nicolle KThe best views you can wish for. Fresh air. Cozy rooms (we stayed in the best Junior Suite), stunning garden and pool area, great food. Pleasant staff. If staying more than one night, take a 2hr walk around the rice fields and forest. We stayed here as we were going to hike Gunung Ijen. We left after breakfast at 7 am (the staff was kind enough to prepare it earlier for us) as we traveled with the kids. It takes 1hr to the parking and entrance area. Even not leaving early in the morning, we enjoyed the hike, the views of the lake, and the overall scenery and it was not hot since the wind kept blowing.

Reviewed By Petrus61We stopped in this hotel for lunch on the advice of our guide. It is located alongside the road. The food was good (we had soup and goreng) with reasonable prices. The staff was courteous. Worth a visit if you pass by on the way to the ferry for Bali.

The room was neat and clean, but there were many Mosquitoes. We were hungry and sleepy, so we ordered food the time we entered the property. The food came in no time, but it tasted like as if it had been cooked 3 days before serving. we ordered Spaghetti, and it tasted very bad. We were a group of 20 people, and our overall experience was fine, the staff was friendly and were very quick.

The common areas/ garden are homey, well equipped, and there is everything you need to relax, work or whatever else. The location is a bit outside from the center, but that makes it easier to reach Ijen, waterfalls, and other sights just outside the city. The hosts, Maya and Djoko are just wonderful. They have tons of great tips and are extremely friendly and caring. Definitely a place to recommend!

Spacious hotel, good food, but lack of service standard quality
Reviewed By monicatjandraWe've been there for holiday. The room was ok. Nothing special and not bad. The food was good. But the service quality was poor. Almost in every area. The front office was not friendly, the housekeeping have no standard of greeting, the FB service was lack of smile and busy of their own. So do not expect friendly, helpfull and thoughtfull service here.

Banyuwangi is the starting point for many tourist destinations, and the people here are in general genuinely friendly and honest. It is also famous as the banana capital of Java. Banyuwangi has beaches to the east and mountains to the west. Industry here is mainly primary production and fishing, furniture and handcrafts. We also have a state of the art boat building industry.Banyuwangi is the home of the “Using people” (original inhabitants).They are very proud of their traditions and gandrung dancing.
Very dirty, especially the bathroom

I must say we did have the cheapest room type (so I can't say anything about the more expensive rooms, however we saw 3 of the cheapest rooms and they all looked the same). It was one of the dirtiest rooms we have seen in a long time. Especially the bathroom was disgusting and did not look as if it's even been cleaned. Staff was friendly. But still... chose another hotel for your stay in Banyuwangi.
