First we noticed the Einkehr from the outside. The lovely heart ornaments, the open fire, the sheep skins. We decided to have dinner there and reserved a table. We were seated on the first floor and the atmosphere of that floor and the people was exquisitely cosy and warm.It gets all the highest marks.The food was very good, our dessert was a surprise, a pear with mousse , very yummy and new to us both.My grilled meat was average, as was the fish. The french fries and grilled vegetables were excellent too.Thank you for your positive review! We are very pleased that you that we could inspire you with our culinary offer. This restaurant and the people working there really donât care about their guests, I booked a table one day an half before asking to have a table on the terrace beside the street but unfortunately didnât happen!I asked to speak with the chief but they really donât care so I decided to leave with all my family with three kids and the best is been they ask to me to pay 2 bottles of mineral water unbelievable...... they destroyed our dinner without even try to find a solution for theirs client they are really unprofessional!Donât go there if you donât want have that risk , the worst unpleasant unprofessional waiters !Dear Alessandro,Not only is your criticism here unjustified, it is also offensive. The table you reserved (5 persons, terrace) was ready, your family took a seat and ordered two bottles of mineral water - everything was fine. When you came along you expressed the desire for a table upfront, next to the street. Since these were all already occupied, we unfortunately could not fulfill your wish. We were neither rude nor unprofessional and took the time to explain this to you. When our boss came to talk to you, you were already about to leave without paying for your family's consumptions. We are always endeavored, warm and friendly, but unfortunately we can not understand why you have left our restaurant this hastily nor why you discredit us here. Best regards, your Steakhaus-Team

Came upon this jewel on the roadside.. and so happy that we did!The regional ravioli were heavenly as we're the calamari, served with a delicious warm baguette. For dessert, the apple strudel was just excellent while the warm crepe with ice cream also a winner.The portions were nicely sized, the service lovely and the bill very honest for the amount, quality and goodness of the food. We spent â¬30/person (we drank quite a few beers as well) and couldn't be happier! Highly highly recommended. Bravi!! We sat outside and had a perfect table with an amazing view. Die Gartenrast is a great place with beautiful terrase overlooking the valley. We ordered the chicken whitch was excellent prepared, the service and atmosphere was perfect. We highly reccomend this restaurant.

This restaurant is in a typical Austrian house with beer garden. A short drive behind Portschach.The food is an excellent example of local tastings. We visited it a few times during our stay in the area. It has grown and expanded in the last four years, at times not for the better. It can get very busy and the staff can be pushed to the limit.However they do a fabulous job under busy times and the food is worth it.

We have been now several times to this restaurant when we were in the area of lake Ossiach. It was always great, they serve delicious local food in excellent quality for a good value. The people are very friendly, too. Last but not least the view over lake Ossiach is just amazing. We will definitively eat there again.

We ate here largely by accident, but am so glad we did. It turned out to be one of the best meals of our whole Austrian holiday. The simple "ofenloch" potato dish comprised two enormous, crispy jacket potatoes, with a delicious sour cream, yogurt, herb and bacon topping which, for the price, was simply incredible value. The "Steirische" potato was a single jacket potato, served as above, but with a huge portion of steaming hot vegetables AND two very generous pork medallions which were seasoned and cooked to perfection. This restaurant simply serves delicious food at a very very fair price. The dining area had a great ambience and the owner came out from behind the grill to talk to us about our travels, our plans and to ensure we had everything we needed. It made the whole experience very enjoyable and upheld the traditions of Austrian hospitality. Highly recommended, and if we were staying longer, we would definitely make a return visit. No question! Go. You won't regret it.

International food in a very good location with a terrace in front of Velden Casino. The food is good including nice variety of appetizers. Staff very friendly. Good wine list.
