Very nice visit, but no stars due to weather
Reviewed By jessicapuiOur group of 3 were the only ones staying that night We had the evening tour with the resident Astronomist, who was very nice, very good at english, and his enthusiasm showed in his tour. The tour ward completely in english, i guess it was because all 3 of us are foreigners. The onsen ( stone hot spring) was nice but quite small, maximum 2-3 people at a time, and requires booking if there were more guests. But since it was just us 3 we could use it freely Unfortunately it was super cloudy on the night we visited, and so we were able to see much with the telescope. However the resident astronomist showed us a lot of interesting things in the planetarium and the amazing photos that he took of the night sky Food is pretty good. Staff were really helpful arranging for our transport ( we didnt drive)

Angelica is in Kumamoto which is very famous for volcanic area. There is Mt Aso that has world biggest its crater. Also Mt Aso is now active volcano. Our place is in surrounded by Mt Aso's crater.
Dinner was grrat, and hospitality was confortable.
Reviewed By motherblack0502夫婦2人で8月に訪問させていただきました。 まず、食事が素晴らしかったです。地元阿蘇の食材にこだわり、かなりの種類の野菜やハーブが自家栽培です。また、燻製も自家製。オーナーは福岡のレストランで修行されていた方らしく、技術は確かです。こんない山奥で阿蘇を感じる素敵なディナーをいただけると思いませんでした。 さらに、近くに天文台があり、夏のシーズンは星空観察も楽しめます。天気が良ければ天の川も見られます。このプログラムは予約をされることをお勧めします。 震災で訪れる方は減ったそうですが、ぜひ頑張って欲しい宿です。 My hasband and I visited there in August 2017. The dinner and breakfirst were great. They use vesetables from Aso as much as possible, and grow up some kinds of vegetables or herbs by themselves. In addition, they make some smokes by themselves! The shef has a good technique, who was traind at the restaurant in Fukuoka. I have never imagined that I could enjoy such tasty meals in a mountain area. There is an observatory near the hotel, and you can enjoy night sky watching in summer season. If it is not cloudy, you can see the milky way. I reccomend to book if you would like to take part in this program. It seems that the number of visitors decreased, however, I hope more travelers stay in this hotel.

Charming small B&B with excellent food
Reviewed By SFVoyageurMy husband and stayed the night of November 5, 2015 in a room for two people. We were very comfortable. The room has temperature control and is extremely quiet. We both slept very well. I got up early in the morning to use the onsen which is family -style, meaning when you or you and your family are in it, the door is locked and you have it to yourself. It was very enjoyable. We were both very impressed with the delicious dinner and breakfast which were Western style The dinner was beautifully presented and included a wonderful fish filet cooked perfectly with a light crunchy topping. When that was followed by the largest portion of steak we were served in Japan that turned out to be tender and delicious as well, we were in heaven. The owners are very professional and also kind. It was a wonderful place to stay.

Reviewed By Kati5rIf you want a comfortable affordable place to stay whilst touring bubbly mount Aso and onsens. Come here. The food is included in the price and amazing and the wine is good and reasonably priced too. I've lived in Japan for many years, but I've never tasted such beautifully cooked steak here. Still a little pink in the middle glazed in a gorgeous sauce. It is accompanied with an array of amuse bouches, soup , fish dishes and deserts. Not really Japanese style dining, however the place has an outdoor bath to enjoy with your friends and drink hot sake. Good for a private party. Can't wait until breakfast!

泊まるだけではもったいない！
Reviewed By へーすけべ夫婦と子ども２人の４人でお世話になりました。 建物は新しくありませんが清潔さは保たれて気持ち良く過ごせました。部屋も水回りなどに多少の難はあるものの不自由することはありません。共同のお風呂もゆっくりできます。 今回、２食付きでお願いしたのですが、夕食・朝食とも文句なく美味しかったです。 同じ日に宿泊される方と一緒に食べるスタイルですが、とても和やかな雰囲気で楽しく過ごせました。小さな子供さんを連れた方もいらっしゃいましたが、皆さん暖かく見守る雰囲気になっていたのは宿の雰囲気のせいでしょうか。 周辺には何もなくコンビニも車で５分ほどかかりますので、夜食や飲み物などはチェックイン前に揃えることをおすすめします。 震災の影響でナビ通りに行かないかもしれませんが、ここでの滞在や食事を目的に、迷ってでも行く価値があると思います。

お世話になりました
Reviewed By Safari806920ペットさん連れはコテージになりますが ユニットバス付きで快適でした。 コテージにはロフトもあり4人くらいは泊まれそうな雰囲気です。お食事が美味しくてとても良かったです。また泊まりたいです。

Reviewed By はな923夏休みに子連れで宿泊しました。夜に子供たちをつれて、車でカブトムシを捕りに連れて行ってくれました。東京ではできない体験ができ、子供たちもとてもよろこんでいました。カブトムシ４匹、クワガタ３匹を東京に連れて帰れました。
