This restaurant is one that we visit regularly. The food choice is wide from steaks and seafood to pasta with rich Italian sauces. Starters are around £5 mains in the region of £15.
I was a bit worried because the usual chef has retired but my concerns were misplaced as the standard has got even better.
The staff take the time to talk and ensure your meal meets expectations. Not just the usual "everything alright with your meal". Ecellent.

Last minute decision to go when we noticed they had spare tables for Sunday, had the gammon plenty of meat great choice of veg, the gravy was excellent , the cauliflower and broccoli bake was great, only small Cristicism is the yorkshires which I think were commercially bought as they were bland - homemade would be so much nicer which is such a shame when they are so easy made and even frozen! But would definitely come again. Fantastic value at less then £15 for 2 courses and the brownie my daughter said is the best she has ever had.

This place really is in lovely countryside. We arrived to a full house. The atmosphere was buzzing. I loved the decor and the range of drinks on offer. We were informed that our table was double booked in error and could we wait. We were given free drinks for our trouble. The wait for our table was very short. We had a lovely time and the food was delicious. There was a huge 40th Birthday part going on so the atmosphere was fun. Even though the Party kept the staff very busy, we were still attended to in a prompt, friendly and professional manner. We're not locals so it may be a while before we go back but for everyone else it's a must.

First impressions were good. Sofas around a log fire, a rack of newspapers and magazines, scrubbed tables, a couple of Kent ales and most importantly an absence of noisy so-called music and the noisy people that blight so many eating places.
From the excellent menu we chose the fish & chips, fish stew and duck sausages & mash, together with bread and olive oil to nibble while we waited.
The food was very good but next time i'll choose the huge and impressive bowl of fish my friend enjoyed.
What could be improved? Replace the paper napkins with real cloth ones.
Highly recommended.

I am a regular eater at The Farriers but went with a different group this time, just two girlfriends. Two of us chose off the special menu, Steak and Stilton Pie. We both agreed it was one of the best pies we had had, the staff were happy for us to choose alternatives to the mash which was equally tasty. Amazing dessert too, sticky toffee pudding. Our waitress was so helpful. Well done Farriers!

Found The Riverside Inn through TripAdvisor as we were going to be in Ashford doing a spot of shopping.
What a find! I would highly recommend visiting. It's within walking distance of the station and across the road from the outlet shopping centre - in my opinion a much better choice than the chains available in the outlet.
I had the best burger I've had in Kent cooked to my liking served with chips and salad for under £10 - the tower burger consisting of burger, bacon, fried egg, jack cheese and onion rings - well happy with that. If nothing else you've got to go try one of their burgers. The better half had a Trio of sausages served in a giant yorkie with mash, peas, onions and onion gravy - a proper portion of proper food, she was well happy too!
A great selection of draught, beers, ales and ciders.
The next trip to Ashford will be via train to enable us to spend more time here.

Just spent a wonderful evening with 4 friends for our annual Christmas get together at this charming and cosy pub. Had a bad experience here about 6 years ago so hadn’t been back but will definitely be visiting again in the new year. The service was first class, the food was amazing (3 course set Christmas Menu) and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return to sample the regular menu.

My wife and I visited Sunday and we chose the two course Mothering Sunday menu for £19.99 per person.
Not unsurprisingly being Mothering Sunday, the restaurant was very busy (we had booked in advance) We were initially offered a two-seater table, which would have been very close to other tables and was in quite a cramped corner of the main restaurant area. I think the waitress/landlady could see my wife’s disappointment at this, so immediately offered us an alternative table more towards the reception area where it wasn't so crowded, which we accepted. The waitress gave us menus and took our drinks order, which arrived quickly. Whilst we were deciding what to order the landlord came over and apologised for the original table we had been offered, and as he felt the table we were now occupying wasn't maybe as nice as being in the restaurant he said the drinks were on him for the inconvenience. This was a lovely gesture, as we really weren't put out at all and we hadn't complained. I have been involved in dealing with members of the public all my life and it is a compliment to this gentleman that he felt it was an issue and decided to deal with a perceived problem before it had even arisen. A lot of people in retail management can learn a lot from this.
We decided to have a main course and a dessert. We both ordered the roast beef, and surprisingly (and very pleasingly) we were asked how we would like our beef done (this is not normally an option in most places) I had medium and the wife well done. Both meals arrived perfectly cooked, with all the trimmings, a side dish of green beans and carrots to share and a pot of gravy on each plate. We both said how lovely it was, however it wasn't presented as hot as it could have been, which found us rushing it, and the carrots in the side dish were on the overcooked side and were slightly mushy in texture.
Empty plates were collected promptly and politely, and we were asked for our desserts. My wife chose the Banoffee pie and I had the cheese board. The cheese board was a £4.00 supplement to the two course £19.99, which I felt to be dear. I'm not saying I wasn't aware of it before I ordered it, as I still would have had it, but when you consider the main course was probably £15 of the £19.99, then with the additional £4 supplement, that would make the cheese board a penny short of £9. Expensive for what it was- however the cheeses were very nice.
This is a very nice place and I would recommend it; the management and staff are very switched on and a credit to the business. Everyone was very polite and professional, and we enjoyed our time there, and we will visit again-especially if we win the prize draw for a 3-course meal we entered before we left!
I apologise for the two points of (hopefully) constructive criticism in this review and keep up the good work.
My tip is: make sure you book in advance, as it is very popular, and the restaurant is not huge so does book up quickly.
