Despite being within a popular area, the building's on a quiet street with no bars, and the room we had (at the back of the building) was very quiet even when we had the window open. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, check-in and check-out seamless, and I would very much recommend. It was a bit of a walk to some of the attractions in the south of the city, but Antwerp's easy to get around and a lovely place for a wander!

Welcome to The Soul Antwerp, not your ordinary place! Our Soul Studios are designed to accommodate you the same as you were at home! That is why you can rent them both for a short or long term stay. You will have a great time in our Soul Studio's that are 35 - 40 square meter, have a modern eclectic style and give you all the comfort and privacy you need. All Studio's have a large living room, an open kitchen, a sleeping area and a luxury bathroom with a walk-in shower. The Studio's are each equipped with a TV, with DVD and free Wi-Fi. Or choose one of our Soul Apartments, which are 70m2, have a private bedroom and sleep up to 3 persons. The apartments are equipped with a large bathroom with bath, fully equipped kitchen and a small balcony. Situated in the heart of Antwerp at the Marnixplaats, all rooms view the square, on which there are lots of small pubs, cosy terraces, galleries and restaurants. Their lively and artistic ambiance reflects the good atmosphere of the area 't Zuid. At a ten minutes walk you can find the Groenplaats, the Grote markt and the old city centre. Also the Museum of Schone Kunsten is just around the corner, and the motorway is only 5 minutes away. There are cafe's and terraces establishments to be found at the Marnixplaats where you can enjoy a nice breakfast. Funky and charming
Reviewed By davidandmelWe stayed for 3 nights for our Antwerp city break. The studio was funky and charming - very retro chic - we loved the sheep mural on the wall and the comfy cord sofa (very 70's!) The bed was comfy and it was blissfully quiet. The bathroom was a little small and there was nowhere to really put anything in there, but the shower was very powerful (with a rain head option) and there was plentiful hot water. You actually check in at the cafe which is next door on the square, and there is no room service as such - someone came in one day and left us some fresh towels so this isn't for you if you want the full hotel experience. There is a little kitchenette but we just ate out - there are loads of great eating and drinking options round about. The staff in the cafe were lovely and helpful and we had breakfast there a couple of times We enjoyed this part of the city - it felt more local but it was still a short walk to the old town

Reviewed By tasosg111May be the worst hotel room i have ever stayed in!!! It is an old building which most probably has been somehow renovated. The only good part of the room was the refrigerator. If you want to save 55 euros, it is better to sleep on a bench in the street rather than book this hotel. Bed is too hard. Faucet is not working properly. In case that you will forget your key in your room there is a sign saying that you will be charged 50 euros!!! because you will make them to come and open the door!!! Unbelievable!!! Actually, there are not enough works to describe this awful experience!

Reviewed By Janja1983This is a very modern a nice looking apartment. I especially liked the bed and the bathroom. Big kitchen if you need it. The building is nice and has lots of interesting colors. Location is good. I think good value for money. I would recommend it and probably book it again.

It is 100 metres from Steenbergstraat Tram Stop.The apartments have a spacious living area with cable TV and kitchen facilities including microwave and refrigerator. Each suite also has original features such as beamed ceilings, wooden floors or exposed brickwork. Bedsheets and towels are provided.Aparthotel Van Hecke is less than a 5-minute walk from the Grote Markt. The Modemuseum is 230 metres from the hotel. Antwerp Central Station is just over a 20-minute walk away.Important information If you expect to arrive after 19:00, please inform Aparthotel Van Hecke in advance

We arrived late and could phone the owner on his mobile, who came especially to us to deliver the key, let us in, and help us get settled. You are really in the center of the city, close to everything. We enjoyed our spatious rooms and all the amenities. Thanks and next time in Antwerp we will for sure be back here in Van Hecke aparthotel! We give this two thumbs up !

Buyers Beware
Reviewed By cdtipOur stay began with an unknown charge from the property owner as we were charged an unknown €25 on our credit card after we completed our booking on Hotels.com. We finally realised that this amount was for the cleaning fee, but the amount in the reservation was only supposed to be €20 and to be paid either at check-in or check-out, not charged two weeks before arrival on the credit card. We found that strange, but the owner has several properties with different cleaning fee's, which should be explicitly stated in the booking confirmation. If you book through Hotels.com they cannot help you with overcharges and payments in general as your credit card information goes directly to the owner and they handle charges. Just be aware and be sure to check your accounts and statements to ensure proper charges when you book if you decide to stay here. The day before our arrival, we receive our "check-in instructions", and the apartment address was different from the original booking! In a panic as we needed to catch our flight, we contacted Hotels.com and the owner to see what was going on. The new address was not even near the original in the booking, and this entire situation became very shady, especially with the "advanced" charges. After back and forth conversation, we finally got the first apartment we booked. Overlooking the pre-stay stress, our stay was pretty good. It was self-check-in, the apartment was spacious, had nice amenities, generally clean, if you get the "2 Lange Herentalsestraat" apartment it was very convenient to Antwerp-Central and the main city centre. To conclude, be careful when you book this place and keep track of the fine print, addresses, and charges to your account; otherwise, this is an excellent apartment in Antwerp.
