The camp is small, intimate and very safe. It is considered to be the best location among them all for its distance from anything else. We are located south of the Protected Reserve, away from other tourists and surrounded by the best views ever. Bedrooms are Bedouin tents, cozy and comfortable in every season, which open directly onto the desert and positioned to ensure our guests the best privacy . Rest rooms are modern and clean, with flush toilets and showers with hot and cold running water. The dining area is a traditional semi-enclosed Bedouin tent with lounge, where you can recline to chat and drink endless cups of tasty local tea around the fire while gazing up at the amazing desert starry night. Meals are delicious and freshly prepared on site following the ancient local tradition: You will have the occasion to be delighted by Zarb, a banquet of meat and vegetables slow-cooked the traditional way in an underground oven. Our Cook is committed to offer you the best quality and to meet all the dietary needs of our guests. We love to host very passionate people, who is searching for a TRUE experience like hiking and climbing the monumental mountains (the tallest mountains in Jordan) all around, riding a camel, the traditional Bedouin transportation or hop on a jeep for an unforgettable tour of the unmissable spots in Wadi Rum Desert. We also offer to practice Sand Boarding on the Dunes. "Guided visit" of the desert amazing starry night with the possibility to sleep outside equipped to get all the comfort you might need, like mattress, blankets, pillows and unlimited bedouin tea and coffee. On request we can organize hot-air-baloon rides above the Wadi Rum desert, tailor made tours, SunRise and SunSet rides by Camel or car.

I operate a traditional Bedouin style camp in the desert of Wadi Rum. It has a main tent for socialising and eating as well as a small cave with fire which serves the same purpose. There is space to sleep outside under the star filled sky or smaller tents for sleeping if you prefer as well as a shared bathroom for your convenience. The camp is nestled in a small cave situated in the beautiful desert landscape and is the perfect place to relax and share in the Bedouin lifestyle after a day spent exploring the incredible sights of Wadi Rum.

Located in the heart of Wadi Rum Protected Area, the ecolodge Milky Way provides comfort and a magnificent view over the desert. Our accommodation consists in private Bedouin tents that can accommodate one to six people. Each tent is equipped with beds, mattresses, pillows, bed linen and comfortable duvets.

Salman Zwaidh Camp is an authentic Bedouin camp located inside the Protected Area of Wadi Rum Desert. This is a small and familiar camp that offers you a diverse experience of the Bedouin lifestyle. During your stay you will have the opportunity to meet local people, listen to their stories and share good conversations. We also welcome you to our camp kitchen if you wish so! We can prepare a meal together, as one big family, like in our everyday-life and tradition. All our meals are made according to our local cultural habits. If you are a vegan, vegetarian, or have any other special diet/food restrictions, we will have an adapted meal for you.After a good tasting of local gastronomy, you will find a special open resting tent outside, where you can relax and have a cup of tea. Arranged with mattresses and carpets, it is a good place to read a book, chill out, or have good talks enjoying the shade and the good Wadi Rum particular cool desert breeze.Other optional activities can be included in your stay as well, such as Jeep tours, desert trekking, camel rides and mountain climbing. We would be glad to help you arrange any other activities that we may not offer.Accomodation:Our traditional tents are comfortably adapted for the perfect combination of the simple Bedouin style and your pleasant stay. We have different tent types available: 1 double bed, 2 single beds, 3 single beds, and 6 single beds, and can sleep a total of 17 people. The camp also provides the possibility for renting tent pitches around our site, in case you are coming with your camping tent. Groups and families booking in the same tent is possible, just ask us. We can also re-arrange our tents according to your preferences (e.g. our 6-bed tent can have up to 8 beds, or we can add triple tents), and we have place for pitching your tent around our camp.All tents are equipped with beds and carpets on the floor. Bed sheets and linen for winter and summertime are provided. Private toilets and shower are located outside of the tents.Cleanliness and good care are always two important elements in the management of our camp facilities.Location:Salman Zwaidh Camp is located inside the Protected Area of Wadi Rum, just a 15min Jeep ride from the Visitor Centre. In one side, the camp is surrounded by beautiful orange-colored rock mountains. The big wall formed provides shelter to some species of little birds, that will come around to sing to you from time to time. The most adventurous consider it a good scrambling area to go appreciate the panorama view from the natural cave up there. An alternative walk from behind the mountain is accessible if you want to join them.A few steps away, on the other side of the camp, the scene opens over a wide desert corridor, where the eyes can reach the mountains on the horizon further ahead. There, you will be privileged by being right at one of the best local famous sunset and sunrise spots, an experience that will assure you feel the essence of the desert, combining beauty and tranquility into a show of lights that will connect you directly to the nature. At night, you will be amazed by the appreciation of the silence under the stars or walks guided by a full-moon sky. A two-minute walk will take you to smooth sand dunes, allowing fun day slides or calm night talks.
