Ta Piatakia (Little Plates) is one of those restaurants that are deceptive in their unassuming outward looks but, once you step in, all your perceptions, expectations and worries are turned upside down. From the moment you are greeted by the proprietor cum chef, you are made to feel great before you begin the food experience. Roddy Damalis is a one-off force of nature. He trained as a chef in South Africa and returned to Cyprus to feed the Cypriots their own cuisine, but with a twist! Everything that Roddy prepares has its roots in the Cypriot cuisine but he adds his own twist on everything from the humble haloumi cheese to the more traditional Kleftiko (slow clay-oven cooked lamb and potatoes), they all come out tasting like something you never had before. One addictive delicacy Roddy offers on each table as you sit down, is a vase (yes, vase) of celery sticks dipped in some type of batter and flash-fried, then served cold, instead of bread sticks. I dare you to resist eating less than 5 of those amazing sticks. My advice is never ask for the menu, which does exist. Just ask Roddy to recommend a menu and he will ask a few questions about how hungry you feel, what you do and don't eat and he takes care of the rest from his own wine selection to the guilty pleasure of his amazing desserts. Given that the restaurant is no more than the average house reception room, the atmosphere is intimate, friendly and full of laughter and sounds of delighted customers. I have visited Ta Piatakia many, many times and I have never been disappointed. If you love someone enough or you want to impress a business colleague, take them to Roddy's, I guarantee you a delightful experience punctuated by a number of table visits by Roddy who apart from being a chef and cookery book writer, is a hilarious human being. You will go to bed happy, if somewhat over-calorified but hey, you only live once!

Went yesterday in a large party and the place was very busy. We were not rushed or kept waiting. The restaurant is clean and spacious. We sat in a room overlooking the salt lake, which was very nice. The staff were very considerate and attentive.
They do a Sunday lunch. Stating with soup, going on to salads with salmon , followed by a choice of four meats off the hot buffet. A choice of sweet followed. There was plenty of food and choice. Things which were supposed to be hot were hot. It was a nice meal very nicely presented.
The food service and value were all excellent and it was mid range.

Visited this establishment with works collegues on 17th march 2018. The waiter was spot on his professionalism was on show the whole evening. I ordered a rump steak which was cooked to perfection. Myself and my work mates enjoyed every bit of our meals and would love to return one day. Do not hesitate to use this place if you are in the area it is top drawer

Visited Limassol for a wedding anniversary weekend and were super lucky without a reservation to grab a 7pm early table for two (before a group booking arrived at 9pm - which was totally enough time for the meal).
Desperately wanted to order the Meze with my husband (based on the reviews already on TA), but also the moussaka. Ended up going with my gut and ordering the moussaka, along with some taramasalata as a starter. I'm actually salivating whilst typing this, as I recall the meal! It was delicious. And the staff were delightful - a really small restaurant, with a great atmosphere. If it had of been open on the Sunday, we'd have come back again the next day!

Popped in here twice during a week away for various group meetings.
The food is excellent, the full kebab was amazing and plenty of food for any person.
The only issue is the waiter remembering who he ordered what.
Other than that highly recommend this place to people in the area.

Have been regular customers visiting this restaurant from the early seventies to date, my children remembering many happy times.Being on the strip it was always a favourite place for the forces from the base at Akrotiri.Famous for his kebabs !!it takes some eating to get through a "full Kebab" thankfully for the smaller eater there is the options as to how many courses you wish to order,and all this is served with salad dips and pitta bread and washed down with famous kokkinelli !

Yes I am a vegan who searches for vegan places to eat. Karin's restaurant, "Smoothie & Sweetie", is the only 100% vegan restaurant in all of Limassol. The restaurant is small and the menu is too but the food is wonderfully prepared and incredibly delicious. Everything is made with the healthiest of ingredients. Whether you have one of the tasty wraps, the healthy bowls, the incredible desserts or a power packed smoothie, you are sure not to be disappointed! An abundance of love and care goes into every creation. I will be in Limassol for some time and know that I will be visiting this place several times a week either to dine in or purchase several items to take home.

Good honest Sunday lunch, well priced and fresh food, no rubbish here. Staff and carvery chef all very pleasant and look happy. Surroundings are rustic but very clean, recommend this place for any Sunday lunch. Good choice of meats.
