Reviewed By jmnes12What can I say about Country Resort? 1) Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. 2) Amazing location. 3) Impeccable fixtures and finishes at the homes. 4) Incredible value for money Stayed late August in a 3-bedroom chalet and I think this will be an annual trip! Country Resort is centrally located to Hirafu which means great dining and shopping (if needs be) but you're also close to numerous running trails, the river and Mt. Yotei. Not only that but in a little over an hour by car you can reach Shakotan peninsula which on a good day could give Hawaii a run for its money! Speaking of money this place is very good value, especially if you're travelling with a family. A quick word on customer service. When I checked out, I remembered I left some clothing behind, I emailed the staff at reception at the airport and by the time I landed back in Tokyo the items were already on their way via express post. Amazing. I strongly recommend Country Resort and I will absolutely be back.

Luxurious accommodation very close to the slopes
Reviewed By kiwifi2015We went on a ski holiday and the location of these townhouses is excellent. If there is a lot of snow (and there usually is) it is technically possible to "ski-in" but not "ski-out", however, it's ont an issue at all because it's such a short walk to the Greenleaf (lockers available to stores skis etc) and that's beside the closest gondola. It is amazingly easy to access all 4 ski field areas (go up the top - no need to use the shuttle). The townhouse is luxurious and has excellent facilities. It has an internal garage and we had hired a car so that was a real plus. The toiletries provided are L'Occitane, which is really nice. There is heaps of space and it's very well equipped. The only slight negatives for us were that the lighting in the kitchen is very dim - it really needs more light! Also the hot water took an extremely long time to get hot - so long that I would turn on the shower and then go and get my ski gear ready and turn the jug on for a cup of tea and it would then finally be hot. The concierge service was great, although we were so self-sufficient that we only used it for information. A heated towel rail in the master bathroom would be really good or at the very least some hooks or more places to hang towels! The wooden bath was great I had a soak each night after skiing. Overall a fabulous place to stay.

At first we thought it was a bit far, but they have a mini bus shuttle that brings you the slopes in the morning (every half hour between 8 and 10:30) and brings you back to the apartment in the afternoon (every half hour between 14:30 and 14:30) with your equipment. The building has an elevator, gear room and dry room. The apartment (2 East) is fantastic, with quality finish furniture and fixtures, dimmable spot lights, gas fireplace, dishwasher, heater floors, apple TV, etc. Lots of closet space along the hallway and a great onsen (Japanese bathtub) with double doors to a balcony. View of Mount Yōteik from the living room. There are several nice local restaurants around 3-5 min walking from the apartment. And the walk to the main street is not far 10/15min (without gear), slippery though as it is uphill. The team was super nice and helpful. Great job Tim, Jack and the rest! We had a great time and would love to come back some day. Arigato!

Reviewed By audreyw561It's sureal with the colours of autumn. Wonderful, quiet, very relaxing place to stay. While walking around managed to see the fox! Clean and well maintained by staff. Walking distance to Onsen and ski resort.
