Absolutely unprofessional!

I had called yesterday afternoon to reserve a room for this coming Wednesday. The person at the telephone appeared rather stressed and told me that it looked as if there was still a budget room available, but that I would have to inquire officially via email. I did send an email immediately, which was answered about eight hours (!) later last night (Saturday) at 7h30pm. I was told that indeed a budget room was available. The cost of the room I was quoted, however, included 7.95€ for parking. As I was going to be arriving on foot, I answered the mail by inquiring whether I would really have to pay 7.95€ for a parking spot, even though I was not coming by car. My email was sent this morning, i.e. Sunday morning. I just now returned home from a day trip, expecting an answer to have arrived. Nothing! So I decided to call the Hotel. Emmy, the person who had sent me the mail last night, happened to answer the phone. I asked about the parking fee. Emmy answered that I could simply deduct the 7.95€ from the total cost. And then ... she said that it was too late to do so. I asked what she meant. She said that there are now no more rooms available. Full stop. I find it absolutely unprofessional for "the largest hotel in the Province of Zeeland" to treat customers this way. I had asked a simple query. An entire day went by without anyone bothering to answer my mail. When I then called, I was told that it was now too late, as all rooms are now taken. Did someone with a car stop obtain this room? Was it someone via Booking.com who obtained the room which I had been told was available and which suddenly is no longer available through no fault of my own? Needless to say, I will stay away from this establishment, and I will make sure to spread the news about the way "the largest hotel in the Province of Zeeland" treats prospective customers.

Good for one night

Reviewed By LeenLokeren_Belgium_

A very warm welcome, no airs and graces, led us to the disappointing room. The beds are very soft and old. VERY basic: poor lighting, tiny bathroom with a small mirror, not working fan. One small table and a very rickety wardrobe ( no bottom in it). The whole leaves a dated impression and could do with a serious refreshing. Positive: excellent breakfast!

Good hotel!

I was gonna name this review “good hotel crappy toilet paper” but to make the whole review about the toilet paper is a but much. The rooms are small but well-equipped. The mattresses are not very comfy, way too soft and wobbly. About that toilet paper: as my boyfriend said: it is half ply, thin hard toilet paper that has no business being anywhere near a toilet. This is the kind you’d expect at a restroom along the highway, not in a mid price otherwise fine hotel. The staff is very friendly, showed us all the amenities and the after hours entrance and all. Breakfast is yum, loads of freshly baked breads (in this part of NL and in Belgium bakeries are opened on Sunday, so freshly baked bread for breakfast! All in all we had a good stay and would for sure recommend this hotel.

Reviewed By Resort08673420260
