Great onsen hotel

Reviewed By elise317

We stayed here for one night before Christmas, and there were not so many people in the town this season. The onsen and food are GREAT. The room is large but old. NO INTERNET OR WIFI. The traffic is not convenient if you don't have a car, and there is nothing around the hotel but some private houses and a convenient store. They do have a shuttle bus to the railway station. If you want to stay somewhere that has traditional Japanese style, this is the right one for you.

Excellent stay

I stayed here with my wife for 2days. First this hotel has good quality and all staffs are courteous. Every meal made us so happy, especially the grilled abalone was excellent. My room was ocean view, it might probably be all rooms have ocean view. So beach is so close to this hotel. After you can enjoy playing on the beach, you can return the hotel and take a bath immediately.

An affordable hotel which gives you a bit of everything

Reviewed By BrandonAshin

Once in a while I love staying with the Kyukamura chain. It's nothing like the Four Seasons of course but it's affordable, with a buffet dinner and breakfast, with a nice comfy room, an onsen, and this particular one is very close to a beautiful beach. My boy-friend is a vegetarian so the buffet option is much simpler than a kaiseki dinner. He could choose to eat whatever OK to him. The food is of reasonable quality (not a fine-dining experience of course) but for the price we paid we were very happy with this hotel chain. The room quality varies from hotel to hotel in this chain. The room quality is above average in this chain I'd say. You can even go up to the roof and see the stars! A pretty romantic experience!

We chose this hotel because everything else was full: it was a real surprise! A wonderful ryokan, 20 minutes by car from the beach. Traditional tatami room with comfortable futon and reading corner, very silent even if facing the road. Delicious Japanese breakfast and - of course - lovely staff. Every room has a toilet but shower is not available: there is a wonderful traditional Japanese hot bath on the first floor and an outdoor bath on the 3rd. English is not really spoken but they prepare all the info for you.

Excellent location but the rest is an average

Reviewed By Yasuo S

The Ryokan is located on a edge of Yumiga-hama beach and ca't be any better. There is an direct access to the beach from the hotel. The view from 5th floor room was excellent. There was a terrace and outside bath on the terrace although it was not Onsen. The facility was relatively new, well maintained. Room was very clean and other facilities too. Dinner was not as good as expected to the price of about JPY25,000 per night although it was not bad. The way dishes were served was kind of in a rash. TI was not the case that waitress watched how we eat and adjust a timing when they served next dishes. Wine list was like none existent. The list of Sake was small but not bad. Overall, value of this Ryokan is the location but the rest is at average considering the price of about JPY25,000 or about $250. I would stay there again but will have dinner somewhere else.
