Cottage Morinokokage is little cottages in Funayuki. There are 10 individual cottages, and 4 different types of room are available. Amenities are TV, air-conditioner, refrigerator, electric pot, dryer, Japanese Tea Set, bath & shower (inc. shampoo, hair conditioner, body soap, and hand wash soap), toilet, hammock, garden table, low rebound mattress & pillow, free parking space, laundromat in property, and smoke free in the room. It is located between Anbo and Miyanoura, where easy access to main sightseeing spot such as Jomonsugi and Shiratani Unsuikyo. Only 5 mins drive from Anbo port, 8 mins drive from Yakushima air port, and 20mins drive from Miyanoura port. There is excellent mountain(Myoujou-dake & Funayuki-maedake) view from each rooms, and shining star can be seen at night. Walking distance to seashore to see beautiful sunrise and Tanegashima island. Breakfast, BBQ, early Bento delivery, local restaurant, taxi, rental car can be arranged.

Reviewed By Fredrik Smith SAlready before we arrived, our host Mr Ryosaku Nakashima contacted us to let us know the easiest ways to get to the compound, and travel time from the harbour. While we were taking the ferry across to the island, he helped me plan car rental via mail so we could save time when we arrived. We arrived two hours before check in time, but since we haf told him our estimated arrival time in advance, he had the cabin ready for us already then so we could check in immediately. After a warm welcome, and thorough tour of compound and room he quickly arranged a rental car for us, which was delivered to the compound soon after. He gave us valuable tips for things to do and see, and booked a sea turtle tour for us. Due to some rain and bad weather when we visited, the tour was cancelled twice, but he always kept us updated on the weather forecast, and rebooked the tour for us. And so eventually we got to see the sea turtles laying eggs on the beach the day before we left. We were taken excellent care of, and supplied with everything we could need (including shoe-dryer when we returned soaked from a rainy hike!) from the ever friendly and smiling staff. We stayed for 4 nights, and will gladly come back if we return to Yakushima in the future. We would heartily recommend staying here to anyone looking for a quiet and comfortable stay on the island, and a good base for enjoying all the island has to offer. Four newly built cottages on a large expanse of land sit facing the sea。Behind the cottages are the mountains and on a clear day there are great views of Mocchomu.Inside the cottages are large cedar beams and the rooms are filled with the fragrance of the timber.Up to 4 guests can stay in a cottage with 2 people sleeping in the loft area on futons.
Great cottage, hosts and location
Reviewed By beersushiMy wife and I stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Yakushima at the end of September staying in a Skydeck & Terrace bath room. In short we had an absolutely amazing and lovely time. The cottage itself is cute, well kept and clean. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, during our stay they helped book hiking bento’s for us (delicious!), recommend a local restaurant for dinner, as well as phone book a taxi (we are English speakers with only limited Japanese) for us one evening so we could visit a Izakaya in nearby Anbo for some drinks! We hiked most days, but loved coming back each night to the relaxing hot steel bath, as well as yummy complimentary desserts from the hosts! The small kitchen was plenty for us to be able to cook our own meals purchased from the Supermarket nearby (10 minute drive), yum! And the skydeck is magnificent to view the stars, we were lucky enough to have a clear night during our stay, beautiful! As with most of Yakushima you will need a car to get here and around the island, we were able to access all our chosen hiking trail-heads with approx. 45minutes from this accomodation which was super convenient, another great plus. I could go on and on about this location, it really was perfect for us (I haven’t even mentioned the nearby ice-cream shop, restaurants and beach onsens!). I really hope we can come back someday and stay again!

Come and recharge at our home! We are located in Anbo area and within a relax walking distance to Gouchou-mae bus station, restaurants, laundromat and gift shops. We are conveniently located near Jomon-sugi, Yakusugi-land and Mt. Miyanoura hiking trails. We have been here since 2013. You will feel right at home in our cottages which are well equipped with all the modern conveniences.

Reviewed By JozudaveWe stayed in one of these cottages for two nights during our trip to Yakushima and it was a great choice. The cost was very reasonable to have your own little apartment to stay in. The location is good with several decent restaurants within walking distance in the evenings and next to the main road with buses (if you take the bus) and not too far to drive to most of the main sites of the island from this spot. The owner is lovely, makes you feel very welcome and knows everything there is to know about Yakushima. For example, I told her I'd like to do some river swimming (not a common request apparently!) and she directed me to a river where locals sometimes go for a swim in summer. Fabulous! She also made sure we were aware there was going to be a rocket satelite launch from a neighbouring island one morning so we could go watch it. Very thoughtful! All in all, I highly recommend this place if you are staying on Yakushima.

The lodging for hearing in the forest, limited to 3 groups for one night. 3 separate cottages, 2 Japanese style rock-bound baths, a library with various books of Yakushima mountains and history. The relaxing time will start upon your arrival at Hagaminosato in the quiet and pleasant atmosphere.

Reviewed By Marken2014We loved our stay here. The hostess, Ann, was delightful. She was always there to meet us and make us welcome. The accommodation is very pleasant - clean and comfortable but with old style Japanese feel. Comfy futons although the pillows are firm for western heads. There is a shared kitchen dining area with coffee and cooking facilities. The gardens are very pretty and you will go to sleep in complete quiet. Ann would set up the pretty onsen for us every evening which was huge for two people. Very nearby, there are excellent restaurants in town. Super relaxing - highly recommended.

Reviewed By Tp091122コテージは2つあり、山のほうに宿泊しました。吹き抜けのロフトがあり、開放感がある。またキッチン付きでも、調味料とかほんとうにこまごましたものまで用意されていて、すごく快適。洗濯機もついているののでたすかります。オーナーがとても親切でそれもありがたかった。車は目の前にとめることができるから便利。やっぱり朝の縄文杉登山とかするならツアーに参加しないなら、車はあったほうがいいです。スーパーで買い出しして、キッチンでお料理したりして快適にすごせた。 一軒すべてを家族で利用できるので、すごく衛生管理としてもおすすめ

綺麗で利便性が良い
Reviewed By Type-38arisaka空港から徒歩10分程度でほとんど一本道でした。スーパー兼お土産店が隣にあり周囲に飲み屋が複数あるので、利便性がとても良かったと思います。道具や寝具も一通り揃っていました。難点は早めに予約しないと取れない事ぐらいだと思います。

Reviewed By romyromy55コテージタイプの独立型ですが、隣のお部屋の音もやや聞こえるくらいの建付けです 一番海側のコテージをアサインされたので部屋からも海が見えました ランドリールームや食堂も生活感があり、長期滞在もできそうです 週ごとや月ごとの格安料金などあれば良いのではと思いました（私だけ？） ベッドは小さめなので175センチ以上の背の高い人は足りないのではないでしょうか フロアが白く髪の毛やごみが目立つので、簡単な掃除用具（クイックルワイパー的な）があればいいなと思いました 総体的には大変良かったです

Reviewed By umikuwagata私は宿泊はしなかったのですが，併設のレストランでランチを食べました．窓のすぐ外にはきれいな海の景色がひろがり，木の香りの中で食べるご飯は絶品でした．値段も高くないのでランチ利用お勧めです．
