The resort is conveniently situated within easy driving distances from the island’s two International airports, just 15 km away from Paphos and 140 km from Larnaca. Excellent Athena Beach
Reviewed By Noel FMy wife and I stayed at the beautiful Athena Beach Hotel (Paphos), for seven nights during the last week of May ’22. We flew with Jet-2 Holidays (half-board basis in Classic Room). We can confirm the accuracy of Trip Advisor reviews as this is a fabulous hotel with excellent staff. Front desk, restaurants, swimming pools and cleaning services were top class, while friendliness, approachability and attention to detail were exceptional. The hotel food is excellent and varied and the staff are extremely courteous and helpful. We ate breakfast in the Atrium and Ledra restaurants (the latter open until 11 am every morning). We enjoyed the buffet-style dinner in the Atrium where the fare caters for every conceivable taste, in tandem with some wonderful entertainment. During one barbecue we were thrilled by the Greek-Cypriot dancing, music and singing! We also had some snacks at other poolside locations, including the excellent ‘Adonis’ restaurant. Wireless internet was free and excellent, while we also benefited from a (free) safe deposit box in our spacious room. Although there are a couple of small supermarkets five minutes’ walk from the front door of the hotel, most of your requirements will be met by the hotel shop located beside the Atrium restaurant. The shop (with a variety of very reasonably priced items) is open until quite late in the evening and is run by exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. Fifteen minutes’ walk from the hotel, adjacent to Neapolis University (and opposite Veronica Hotel), we located an excellent (reasonably priced) self-service laundry called ‘5-Stars Laundry.’ The business is owned and operated by a marvellously helpful couple called Gina and Octavo. Although we spent most of our time around the pool and beach area, we visited the harbour area on a few occasions and found it relaxing and reasonably priced. Areas of concern: We were located on the third floor (Room 383) facing the road. At night the noise was considerable and certainly wouldn’t be suitable for a family with young children. On a few occasions we saw four different stray cats in the Zephyr restaurant area. We believe that the feline presence does nothing to enhance the culinary experience. Overall, the Athena Beach Hotel is a gem that we would highly recommend to all travellers!

The staff were brilliant with a special mention the Prod, Veltro & Alex at the pool bar they are very friendly & hard working made our holiday. Reviewed By TEAMJESSCame tonthis amazing hotel 1st June for one week. Myself my mom and my teen son. We had room 3042 on 3rd floor and the view of pool and sea was just gorgeous. Rhe hotel itself is amazing and so clean. Staff can't do enough for you very polite friendly and hard working, they truly do need more credit. The entertainment team are just out this world. Their shows are just brilliant and they out alot of work in for us as customers to enjoy. The food is well presented and just absolutely delicious always a good selection on every day. My son lived the waffles at the pool bar and eatery. Drinks are great tasty and string Lots of choice and cocktails list is nice choice. Pools lovely sized and the slides are so much fun. Close to paphos Harbour bus stop out front of hotel to get around. I will always recommend this hotel to anyone and will 10000% be coming back. Well done phaethon beach hotel you are all amazing and made our holiday a time to remember.

Paid for seaview and only got a pool view far back room - technically sea view but not a front sea view ! Waste of £100+ ! By day 5 some unruly guests must have arrived and caused problems but rather than tackle it direct, the hotel decided to send everyone a letter under their door reminding people to behave . Confronted staff who are usless! Never felt so annoyed! Said they don’t like to make the people feel bad who it was for!!!!! What a joke ! Drinks are cheap knock off inc the soft drinks, not even Pepsi it’s rola cola . It’s a bit naff this hotel to be fair I would stay somewhere else

Most of the staff were helpful and friendly with the exception of the pool bar staff most of them looked and acted like they couldn't be bothered. The food definitely lets this hotel down the main restaurant was a huge disappointment very little choices and bland we ate in there 3 breakfast 2 lunch and 2 dinner so 7 meals in a week out of a potential 21. So ate out alot. The snack bar was good and much busier than the main restaurant. The a la carte restaurants very difficult to book 1st being told to book on the screen which didn't work then told to book at the restaurant but nobody there to take a booking, back to reception to then be told oh both of them are closed this week!! NOT GOOD!! Most of the drinks are not included in the AI package you need to upgrade to gold ring package. So if you book this hotel make sure you budget for extra spending money as you will definitely need it!!!

Reviewed By Balliesnrwe had waited until we felt safe to travel again.the Athena royal beach hotel was the perfect place to return to. We had arranged a car from the airport by email to them. On arrival at the hotel the greeting was as if we were long awaited friends as we feel we are. All the staff are all most friendly yet professional . there are more sun beds than guests. The food is excellent and varied.and serviced with efficient and a warm approach by the waiters. In fact we feel you can't find a more pleasant [lace to stay.
