Tulbagh is a gem. From the beautifully renovated houses of Church Street, to the great museums, superb restaurants and wine farms both in and around the town, and wonderful people that live there, it’s a fabulous place to spend a weekend. Be warned, you’ll want to stay a week ... or two!

Unbelievable setting. Service was great. The full circle, which is available for tasting, is probably the best red I have ever had.

Lemberg Wine Estate

Even after reading the other reviews, Lemberg Wine Estate far exceeded our expectations. From the get-go their hospitality and humour made us feel at home. We arrived earlier than anticipated, yet they were already prepared for our stay. The accommodation was very spacious, clean and neat. The rondavel has its own braai area overlooking the dam and spectacular views of the mountains. Special mention to Mikaela who welcomed us and very knowledgeably provided us with information about Tulbagh and guided us through a fantastic wine tasting experience. She went the extra mile to make us feel completely at home at Lemberg Wine Estate. We left with not only a complimentary bottle of highly recommended Chenin Blanc, but also a new found knowledge about wine. Her ease and interaction with clients was outstanding. Zelna was very friendly and made the booking and check in experience incredibly easy and pleasant. JC provided great conversation and was very hospitable, he didn't hesitate to help us at any point, and always made sure that everything was to our satisfaction. We will definitely visit Lemberg Wine Estate again, and would highly recommend it! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Although we are the only guests here, the wines and the midday views of the working vineyard are spectacular. The wines are sublime, although I requested a spittoon, I am yet to use it. Just a reminder of the quality of wines and venues the cape has to offer, even if we have to still sport masks in this new normal environment. #winediary #coviddiary #2020 #tulbagh #capewines

For the best handmade Belgian chocolates, there is no other place to go than Moniki. Located on Klipfontein Guest Estate in the Tulbagh Valley, the hand made chocolates are seriously good. You can choose between Chocolate and Coffee or Chocolate and Liqueurs and enjoy the afternoon in picturesque surroundings under the Oak trees. The chocolates are simply awesome. My favourite was Amarula and Nougat. A must visit and worth every cent!
