7 Top-Rated Lodges in Jerusalem, Jerusalem District

May 4, 2023 Alice Mieles

Religious pilgrims have been traveling to Jerusalem for centuries, yet you don’t have to share their zeal in order to appreciate this city’s profound cultural and historical significance. Plan on seeing the major sights, but also leave plenty of time to walk through the streets and simply immerse yourself in the daily life of such an ancient and revered place.

Our favourite hotel

This was our second stay at this hotel. We returned as we had liked it so much the first time. It was still just as good. Olga, the proprietor, is extremely helpful. She answers any enquiries promptly via WhatsApp. The rooms are comfortable and reasonably priced and the location excellent for the Old City, public transport, shops and other amenities. We recommend this hotel and would happily stay there again.

Tzafania Hotel

Tzefania Hotel is one of the first hotels in Jerusalem. The hotel was built in 1930 by the Giladis, a couple of Persian origin, and the second generation of the family in the Holy city, which came to Israel for love of Zion, leaving behind all their property. The Hotel stands out among the other houses in the neighborhood, and it is immediately evident that 4 Tzefania is not like another ordinary hotel. All 18 rooms were designed differently from one another, all the rooms are totally renovated with 19th-century furniture, parquet floors and a chandelier in the middle of the room. The goal is that when the guest enters the hotel, he’sll feel the original Jerusalem combined with the new, the authentic and the conservative, where anyone will feel at home.

Good Service

this is an example of a very well run hotel, the management needs to be congratulated. General Manager does a great job at thanking the guest for her review while also acknowledging the hotel staff. The housekeeper in question is positively endorsed and the manager makes it clear that her work is appreciated within the hotel, which leaves a great impression. Not only that, but the guest is addressed personally, by her name, and invited back for another excellent stay.

Super Nice & Comfortable

Reviewed By EzraSchwartz

During a brief visit to Israel to visit family and friends, My wife and I spent 2 nights at Mike's House. Super-clean and comfortable. Good hot water pressure and heating (very important, of course, in Jerusalem, in Winter). Our upgraded room (thank you, Mike!), was just the right size for us, with a small refrigerator, and 24x7 access to tea and coffee downstairs. We did not have an opportunity to sit in the garden, but it looks like a lovely place to hang-out with a book. The area is very nice and quiet, and was a short walking distance from our friend's home. Certainly a place to return to next time we visit.

We went here on our travels through the Holy Land. It was very neat to see and be in a place such as this. We loved every aspect of Israel in our week and half journey. We highly recommend you stop by and see this place.
