Worst night of sleep ever: suffocating rooms, very noisy
Reviewed By asbusterThis hotel has friendly staff, an amazing restaurant and spa facilities BUT beware: there is no air conditioning and no air flow. With hot summer temperatures we needed to open the windows to our room. In principle this is not bad, we’re from Europe and used to sleeping without airco. However it was extremely suffocating in the rooms and the hotel also does not have ventilators. To top it off, they placed us on the side of the hotel by their outdoor restaurant and garden where people, including staff members were talking extremely loud until 1 am. If this sounds bad, it gets worse: cats fighting at 3 am, people slamming doors and talking in corridors and the village clocks which chime every 15 minutes for 5 minutes. Now, I write this as a warning because it’s unclear on Booking.com about the air conditioning and the description of the rooms we chose says nothing about being placed on a noisy garden where we will hear things all night. At checkout, the woman was very sympathetic and offered a small discount. This was welcome and appreciated but could not compensate for our experience.

The Gasthof zum Storch ist a typical francontian restaurant with a own wineyard and a small hotel. The family driven business is very known in franconia and a perfect location to discover cities like Bamberg or Wurzburg. The hotel offers free WiFi, a private parking-space and a english-speaking restaurant.
So authentic
Reviewed By CaraghBellThe food here is so authentic! We had sausage, asparagus (the local thing apparently) and beef broth with liver. The kids had pork schnitzel. Each course was paired with a glass of wine and the strudel was delicious at the end. Loved it!

Reviewed By AmrAbdallahNice Hotel with nice breakfast. A bit old with old furniture. Owners were extremely friendly. The place is very old and was used during Napoleon time to change horses. It is in the middle of fields and you can smell the village everywhere. Breakfast was really good with a nice variety.

Not at all a guest friendly hotel
Reviewed By pallavrntStayed there one night 24-25/10/18. Third class hotel. Took me more than half an hour to find my room in this strange complex of old buildings. Owner claimed it was well represented on the hotel map. Perhaps for owner who was born and brought up in those buildings. Bed was uncomfortable, dust scattered around probably to emphasise it's ancient character! No shower gel in bathroom and instructions in the room in German though owner has the cheek to advertise on English/American websites yet expect guests to understand German?! For breakfast nobody was in the dining area to guide you or to help you have your breakfast. It's just being polite or being professional. What it looked like was with minimum effort they just wanted their till to keep working expecting guests to like how they receive and treat their guests. When I gave my feedback to owner he was not even willing to receive it or even contemplate.

Excellent Rooms and facilities
Reviewed By Mark_W0lffWe have stayed with the Kessler family on two occassions and always use their rooms when we have extra guest to staying with us. Highly recommended. Nice rooms with all the facilities one would need. Some rooms are ideal for families with a kitchen area. If staying, a must to book an evening in their cellar to taste their own wine from the Prichsenstadt vineyards. Prepare to carry a lot of wine home with you as it is wonderful!

Reviewed By TandyjoA beautifully restored hotel. Direct on the market square of a quaint little town. Parking in varies lots around the perimeter of town. Full breakfast. Guest fridge with wine and beer available for purchase. Friendly, helpful staff. Lots of walking paths through the vinyards and/or woods. A town that will surely fill your camera (phone) with treasured memories! A little gem!!!
