6 Top-Rated Lodges in Tel Aviv, Tel Aviv District

May 4, 2023 Marianna Hollaway

A youthful, modern metropolis with a diverse population, Tel Aviv dates back only to 1909. Clubs, bars, a thriving arts community, gay life and beaches attract artists, musicians and young professionals to Tel Aviv's more secular scene. Its UNESCO-designated Bauhaus architecture has won the city the moniker "The White City." Walk, drive or catch cabs between the cultural exhibition pavilions of Haaretz Museum, historic Independence Hall Museum, bustling Carmel Market and Old Jaffa's boardwalk.

Old Jaffa. There’s no need to say nothing more. But right there near the Greek and the flea markets, by the clock tower and only a 5-minute walk from the beach you can find two colored buildings in which every room keeps the special vibes of Jaffa.

The best location!

Location was superb. No need to walk far for shops and cafes, there's many around the area. It's like walking around an old town, everything was instagrammable. Best for couples and youngsters who love to explore the city. The space was perfect for us and everything was neat and perfect. Will def come backkk :)

In the white city just on the corner with Allenby St., the most popular restaurants in Tel Aviv are all around (Café Noir, Port Said and more) and 2-minute walk away from Rothschild Blvd. did we mention already that are hotels are in the best spots of the city? Our hotel offers you a quiet corner in the hustle, private rooms that have everything you need a good shower, a comfy bed, working desk, kitchenette and Netflix connection.

Active nightlife somehow still quiet

A very nice apartment, reasonably priced compared to the rest of the city. Not far from the beach maybe 10 mins away atms, convenience stores, restaurants and bars are within 5 minutes walk. Host is cool collected and helpful.

Do not stay here.

First off, there are two locations -- the one that is popular on Google Maps is the wrong location (it's a schoolhouse), and it is the one with all the reviews (not the actual location, which conspicuously has 0 reviews). When we arrived, we were double-charged for our room because the man at the front desk told us that you can't trust 3rd party sites... even though our 3rd party site was Booking.com! The first room we were given already had someone in it, and we interrupted some woman's shower by making her come to the door and confirm the room was occupied. At this point, we were really disappointed in the location (dark lighting, odd location, poor air conditioning) and asked for a refund. In response, we were told we couldn't leave and handed another key. The new room was warm and muggy, and the AC was caked in what appeared to be mold -- we also were unable to adjust our AC. Ultimately we left the hotel that evening in protest and got a full refund through Booking.com. I do not usually write reviews. I feel it was necessary to write this one.

Building full of cockroaches

Reviewed By 954dominikag

First issue with this hostel was that even though we selected the payment on arrival, we were charged one week prior arrival. When we contacted the hostel, reply was "I will check"... and we never got any answer. Probably this was because they were aware that once we come, we will not want to stay there. When it comes to the actuall hostel building everything is wrong with it. The rooms are not clean, the towels they provide are dirty, you even get a blanket with holes, door to the room have hole in which is simply fixed with a tape. But the worst experience was that during the night the whole room was full of cockroaches. This kept us awake the whole night and when we tried to contact the receptionist in the morning, he never answered, we wrote him a message that he never replied to. We agreed that it wasnt an option to stay in such a place for another 2 nights so we had to rebook another place at our own cost. We contacted receptionist the same day again when he replied that he forgot to answer before and he will come to the room and fix the problem in 10 minutes. Looking at the number of cockroaches in the room, it is impossible that such issue can be solved in 10 minutes as it is a hygiene issue that the whole building of BU93 hostel is facing. We tried to contact the hostel owner as we believe a compensation for 2 last nights was the least he could do, he never replied!!! We contacted booking, however, they wrote there is nothing they can do!!! Really bad exprience and we will make sure to spread the word so that noone experiences the same as we did!!!
