Beautiful boutique farmstay just 15 minutes from Dunedin and half way between the airport and the city. 4 km from Mosgiel in a delightful location surrounded by pine forest and native bush. Stunning views across the Taieri plains. Feed the tame sheep and alpacas and collect the fresh eggs from our chickens. Relax in our hot tub after a day of sightseeing. Continental breakfast provided.

Reviewed By Recker68Beautiful place with idyllic scenery, with ducks and pukeko down by the pond. Very immaculate facilities. I sat on the deck having drinks watching the sun go down. John and Barbara are very hospitable hosts.

Set on the Taieri Plains in Mosgiel, Longbourne Lodge has been designed to offer you the best of accommodation experiences. Our sunny, spacious, warm cottages and garden studios nestle on 5 peaceful acres amongst trees and newly landscaped gardens. You can view the picturesque scenes of the Taieri Plains and surrounding hills from your covered deck, and enjoy a ""country quiet"" night's sleep in our comfortable beds. Being only 4km from the restaurants, cafes and shops, you could dine out in a different place every night. Alternatively you could create your own favourite meals in your cottage or studio, or use one of our complimentary gas barbecues and dine on the deck enjoying a fine Otago wine as you watch the sun slip slowly behind the hills. For the business traveller we offer more space than the average motel, and a quiet environment in which to complete your paperwork in the evening, along with wireless internet and supplementary office facilities. Being so close to the airport and Dunedin means you can enjoy a longer sleep-in on the day of your departure. Evening meals and packed lunches can be arranged.
2 studios do not equal one 2 bedroom cottage
Reviewed By 650astridvBooked 2 bedroom family cottage 5 weeks prior to arrival which was confirmed by email at the time with Visa details provided. Arrived to be told that family cottage was not available as plumbing issues. However, observed that both family cottages had families staying in them. Was told we were now in 2 studio units. Alas no heat pump which was provided in 2 bedroom cottage (was forced to negotiate 2 x 5 fin oil heaters, as blow heaters on 45 minute timers and one small panel heater would not be enough for the minus 3 we had at night there for my asthmatic grandchild) Alas no full kitchen with oven available in the family cottage either..2 kitchenettes do not equal one full kitchen. Yes they upped the insult, when they took the quoted 2 bedroom family cottage rate out of my bank account. Buyers beware ... that you get the room they confirm with you and that they don't help themselves to more money than they should. It was a very unpleasant experience.

Sixteen ground floor units surrounding courtyard car park. Units comprise of 2 x studio's, 5 x one bedroom and 9 x two bedroom with two units capable of sleeping 7 guests. All units are spacious, clean and cosy, we offer the good old southern hospitality! Dunedin city or Dunedin Airport - 15 minutes each way.

Reviewed By Chchfamily2014Stayed for one night in late March with elderly parents. The unit was very comfortable (seating and bedding), accessible, and clean. A supermarket just across the road was very convenient and close to central Mosgiel. Would certainly recommend it.

Overpriced and outdated
Reviewed By SLGA20For $136 a night, this place is horrendously overpriced. Everything in the room is old, the cleanliness was poor. I had hair on my bathroom sink and the bathroom floor looked dirty like the tiles needed to be water blasted. My cutlery still had food on it and the mini fridge was very noisy when trying to sleep. I stayed here to save time driving to Dunedin Airport for an early morning flight but it’s definitely more worth it just travelling the extra distance than staying a night here.

Reviewed By shannonp66Booked myself and 2 young children in for 2 nights. The room was spacious enough for the 3 of us, the room was well equipped and tidy. Shower pressure was amazing (very important in my books). The staff were very friendly.
