Basic but comfortable enough
Reviewed By David CFriendly guest house. Great location for visiting black forest. Has upper corridor close to the car parking area thus easy for luggage. We were a bit squashed in the room considering we were 2 adults and 2 children. On the other hand thy have a great restaurant at ground floor. Slight difficulties with language but managed well.

Frustrating and alienating
Reviewed By Emkate88Don’t really know what kind of business these people call this place, but it’s certainly a shame that they are the ones who run it. It is such a beautiful house and so idyllic if you’re wanting a perfect Black Forest trip, but the management and service is honestly a complete joke. We arrived there after being told check in time was after 3pm. The place was absolutely deserted with not even other guests in sight. We waited with every uncertainty until the owners and all the guests arrived back about 5pm - weirdest thing ever. They had no explanation or apology for it either. The room and house were lovely. They advertised that we could have dinner in the ‘restaurant’ set up downstairs. The food was amazing, home cooked by one owner. Same goes for the breakfast next morning. However that evening they decided that they didn’t want to run their ‘restaurant’ that evening as we were the only guests. So with this lack of notice and terrible hospitality we angrily drove to the nearest town praying something would be open. Later we asked about breakfast and even though they happily served breakfast before when there were other guests, and although they called themselves a B&B, the owner thought that 8am was far too early! We even asked if we could just take something for the road but no, too much effort obviously. It was as if they just didn’t see the point in looking after just us. They just want you to pay your cash only rate and leave them to their shoddy unprofessional ‘guesthouse’. Honestly the vibe I got was more that we were intruding. No customer service, no hospitality and no sense!

We had a great conversation while I had a beer at the restaurant late on a Sunday. I had forgot to print tickets to an event and Kevin allowed me to use their office printer. Saved a ton of frustration at the event. Highly recommend staying here!
