Convenient and clean business hotel
Reviewed By Melvyn LThis hotel is located only a stone's throw away from the Usuki train station. It is a business hotel with close proximity to the Usuki shipyard (10 minutes walk). The room is quite comfortable and well lit. Internet speed is very good so there will not be an issue for skype business calls. The TV is tiny but I doubt anybody watches TV in that hotel. The staff although they do not speak much English but they try their best to accommodate to your requests.

武家屋敷跡の料亭旅館
Reviewed By Passenger805893稲葉藩家老・稲川家の武家屋敷跡の料亭旅館であり、築４００年以上という歴史と風格を感じる宿。 特に武家屋敷跡を使った料亭部分が素晴らしい。建物の重厚さに加え、小堀遠州作とされる庭は見事なもの。年２回の庭師による手入れ以外に樹医の管理も受けているという。 料亭とは玄関を別にする旅館部分は平成元年に建てられたもので1階に和室2室、2階に洋室（ツインルーム）3室という造りになっている。また、貸し切りの檜風呂が2か所設けられている。 今回利用したのは1階の和室。八畳二間に四畳の広縁がつく20畳の部屋。 八畳と言っても畳が本間であるためかなり広い。部屋にはトイレがあるが風呂はなく、貸し切り湯を使うようになっている。この日は我々だけの宿泊だったので広目の貸し切り湯だけが用意されていた。浴室は大人2～3人が同時に利用出来るほどの広さで木の香りが素晴らしい。奥には坪庭が設えてあり風情がある。 さて、お待ちかねの夕食は料亭で冬の河豚コースを頂いた。臼杵の河豚は水揚げしたその日のうち（8時間後）に引いてしまうので厚めに引くと聞いていたが（これまで行った臼杵の店は確かにそうだった）、厚く曳いていますとのことだったが相当の薄切り。博多や下関などの店よりかえって薄いのでは？と思うほど。料理人の腕の凄さが食べる前から分かってしまう。一口食べてみるとこれがまた想像以上の美味しさだ。間違いなくこれまで食べたふぐ刺しで1番の美味しさだ。かつて、下関のフグの仲買人組合の幹部がここで河豚を食べ、臼杵の河豚が日本一と言ったのも頷ける。ポン酢も橙を使った自家製だそうだ。また薬味には全国で大分でだけしか出せないある実質臓器をすり潰して加えられ、えも言えない美味しさだ。またこれは単独でも頂ける。その他唐揚げやヒレの南蛮上げ、ちりなどどれも最高の美味しさ。本当に満足できる。 朝食は30年ずっと同じ内容だそうで、これを目的に来訪するお客も多いという。 クロメの入ったお粥、関アジのりゅうきゅう（づけ）、フグの西京焼き、だし巻き卵、湯豆腐にアオサの入った味噌汁という内容。 夕食時は日没後だったので自慢のお庭が拝見できなかったが、この時はゆっくり鑑賞できた。庭に作られた池は「心」という字を表しているそうだ。 最新の豪華設備の整った宿が好きな方には少し物足りなさを感じるのかも知れないが、本物とは何かを分かっている人には是非訪れて頂きたい宿だ。 決して料金が安いとは言えないが「お金（料金）は嘘をつかない」を実感させてもらえる名旅館だ。 ひとつ注文するとWiHiのパスワードを部屋にも表示して頂きたいということ。 ロビーにしか書いていないのでうっかり見逃してしまいそうだ

源泉さぎ湯は1736年発見の古湯
Reviewed By Venture806823臼杵の山奥にあるろくがさこ温泉の元湯。大分駅から車で1時間ほどです。源泉さぎ湯は江戸中期の1736年発見。茶褐色の冷鉱泉で、底にも泥のような温泉成分がたまっています。内湯はあつ湯、ややあつ湯、ぬる湯と3つ。交互浴をしながら、飲泉をします。こちらの飲泉は1日に1升ほどのむとよいとか。立ち寄りは16時から18時で曜日が決まっています。今回宿泊して利用させていただきました。部屋は湯治宿のような感じです。2食付で夕食は18時、朝食は7時30分から。wifiはつながります。何もないところですが、とにかく源泉さぎの湯は素晴らしいです。入浴よし、飲泉よしです。
