A nice place to stay in Anuradhapura
Reviewed By rasikar2022A quiet place away from the city, yet not too far either, ideal to lodge if you plan to visit the ancient city. Rooms are very clean & well maintained, the best thing about the villa. Set menu, but whatever served was absolutely delicious, so limited variety was not at all a problem. Sri Lankan food was amazing! Nice calm surrounding, situated away from the main road. ( ride to the location was a bit bumpy:)) Eric and the rest of the staff was very friendly & supportive. Thank you for making our short stay a pleasant one!

Other than that food was fairly ok. Staff is helpful. Spa is high standard. Can recommend for using spa of this hotel

Located less than one minute walk from Palugaswewa railway station, in Palugaswewa - North Central Province, Sri Lanka, next to Habarana town. Ideal location as a hub to visit popular cultural triangle area and Minneriya / Kaudulla national park . Very peaceful and tranquil environment with a lot of nature and fresh air. If you prefer relaxing atmosphere like home with a coutryside feeling, Bissa Villa will be the one you are looking for. We currently have 4 lodges - 2 double rooms for up to 2 guests, 1 triple room for up to 3 guests and 1 family room for up to 4 guests. All of them come with private bathroom and terrace, solar hot shower and air conditioning. You can enjoy free Sri Lankan or continental breakfast on site as well as tasty best homemade Sri Lankan dinner on request. Very convenient location to go to / come from Trincomalee by train.

Reviewed By Road50737380370We have stayed 2 nights as this is perfect place to Stay if You plan To hike on Sigiriya, Pinduragala, Rock temple in Mihinthalaya and also experience great Ayurveda spa. Owners are charming people. Rooms are clean, comfortable. Everything seems to be new. And the pool… after all day of hiking - there is no better experience than to jump in the swimming pool! But… You cannot miss the dinner. Make sure You ask the owners to make it for You. That will be the best Sri Lankan food You will have in all Sri Lanka. When we come back - we will stay there again for sure.

Peaceful guesthouse with nature!
Reviewed By EllahylandWhat a beautiful stay we had at Ruins Villa! There are 4 double rooms that open out onto a spacious terrace overlooking gardens filled with nature. We saw deer, rabbits, monkeys and bats on our nature tour that Upali kindly took us on. Upali made us feel instantly welcome, providing us all the information we need to make the most of our stay. He organised tours, provided us with bikes to explore the ruins, and cooked the most amazing Sri Lankan dishes for us to enjoy! The guest house is located right next to the ruins - we went on a lovely bike ride all along the canal and rice paddy fields to start our ruins tour, ending up back right by the guest house, which was very convenient! Upali will also be happy to arrange tuk tuks for any other tours you want to do - we went to Dambulla and Sigiriya for great rates. The rooms were very simple, but at the price and location, there was not a lot more we needed! We would completely recommend this guesthouse to all those wanting a relaxing, quiet break in the beautiful city of Polonnaruwa. You’re in the safest of hands with the host, too.

A perfect slice of Sri Lanka
Reviewed By LeahDayArtsOur hosts were gracious, accommodating, sincere, kind and provided a delicious breakfast fit for royalty! The breakfast was so grand that we had to pack most of it up to take with us (hot tip: bring your own sturdy Tupperware when traveling and you will find it comes in hand every day and saves on waste). The bedroom was clean and opened up to a quaint beautiful balcony overlooking a small gorgeous lotus pond. This is the place to stay if you would like to experience Sri Lanka in a clean and welcoming homestay with hosts that are easy to talk to and knowledgeable. Binara has excellent contacts and can hook you up with an elephant safari with an exceptional guide, bicycles to cycle the Polonnaruwa ruins (remember this is a sacred place and you must cover your legs and shoulders and remove shoes before entering each ruin) and a Tuk Tuk driver to show you the herbal gardens and other sites of interest. Both hosts are professionals that give back to their community and so it makes sense to stay with this couple and give back to them. This is not a hotel and so I recommend cleaning up after yourself so your hosts and host’s mother do not have to work hard to have you as a guest. Bring a book and sink into the sounds, scents and sites of Sri Lanka... while you’re at it head to town for some delicious food at ‘7 Stars’. The food really is worth 7 stars. If you’re planning to enjoy food in the best way, with your right hand, scrub up at the sink at the back before and after your meal. There’s a reason food is eaten this way and you’ll discover the joy as soon as you have your first scoop (the key is to grasp food with the tips of your fingers using rice as a binder). Good luck and enjoy this wonderful homestay in Sri Lanka!

Nice stay
Reviewed By Laurene_de_RMy friend and I spent 2 nights in Ambel guesthouse and had a very pleasant stay. We usually don't book in advance so we turned up there unnanounced but were warmly welcomed. The guesthouse is located in a quiet residential area of Anuradhapura, but close to the center, walking distance about 10mins. We arrived at 4pm and the owner kindly offered to drive us to Mihintale to enjoy the sunset and make the most out of what was left of the afternoon. The room was very clean and comfortable, and had a nice balcony. We felt very comfortable there and enjoyed the wonderful breakfast that the family cooked for us, honestly the best breakfast I ever had in Sri Lanka, so diverse and yummy. We definitely recommend staying there!

Reviewed By Ajith NThis is a newly opened guest house located a few meters away from a beautiful lake "Kubichankulama". Rooms are very clean and all are in upstairs. The large balcony is ideal to spend the evening. Not far from the centre.

Easy to access Polonnaruwa ancient sites and just 6 kilometers to railway station, Kaduruwela town and bus stand.This place is managing be a family they are friendly. I'm extremely satified with room condition, well maintained bathroom, hot water showers, bedroom and equipments. Thres a TV with Dialog TV connection, but I didnt receive a Wi-Fi key or any wifi network. They offer foot bikes and if you need they'll arrange a safari jeep (6500LKR per day) This is the greatest place for stay if you're visiting Polonnaruwa.

Guest House close to town run by Grandma (a real character)
Reviewed By dave_mccubbin40Enjoyed 3 nights in this Guest House in Habarana being superbly looked after by Grandma who was a real character. Used Habarana as a base to visit sites in Cultural Triangle (Sirigya and Dambulla Cave Temple). Short stroll into town for restaurants or walk round Habarana Lake which is great for both amateur birdwatching or keen ornithologists.
