Our villa situated in Bentota. In front of the beach. We have 3 rooms including air condition and hot water facilities. 24 hr room service and great staff. Delicious food and relaxing Ayurveda massage. Our villa included over 106 years old house called 'Kone Walawwa.'
Let down by the dreadful shower room!
Reviewed By Steve LThis place is about ten minute walk out of town down a quiet road. It is a two minute walk to the beach through the garden and over the railway line, the beach is lovely, clean and quite long and a good walking beach. The breakfast is the usual fruit, toast and eggs served in the garden and is nice. The bed was comfortable with a net and a fridge in the room and a fan and air-con. You should be aware that, like most of the places in Bentota, the railway line is just at the bottom of the garden and when the trains rumble through the whole place shakes. They start quite early in the morning (between 5 and 6am), there seems to be a bit of a break during the day and then there are more during the evening and late night. In fairness though, the whole town is built along the railway line and you will struggle to avoid this if you want to stay here. The biggest thing that let the room down was the shower room which was in desperate need of refurbishment, the water was hot but the room is tiny, the shower head was poor, the plastic shower curtain was torn and the toilet had a polystyrene block wedged between the cystern and the wall, presumably to stop it rattling when the trains go through.

Comfortable and homely guest house
Reviewed By Paul FWe had a fantastic couple of days in this beautifully restored old house. The team led by Sidath were fantastic, helpful and attentive. Great food and breakfasts. Whilst in a village location in Bentota getting access to the beach was no problem with complimentary tuk tuk as needed. The garden and pool are beautiful as is Snow the dog! A home from home!

The food was amazing and we ate to our hearts content. The kids enjoyed every bit of it with all the space to run about. Had a nice boat ride and walk on the beach.

Reviewed By imran8484Amazing stay at Sakura Villa Bentota. It was a family holiday of 13 of us and had an amazing stay. All the rooms equipped with A/C and fan. Spacious rooms. All the staffs were very friendly and helpful. The villa is however about 10-15 minutes ride from the beach. It wasn’t a problem as transportation can be arranged easily.

Reviewed By Inger Merete HIn this very personal hostel beautifully placed by the river we were treated like family by the host and by the extremely helpfull housekeeper. The room was spacy, the bed was good. 15 minutes (or 5 minutes by tuk-tuk) from the excellent beach, 15 minutes (or 5 minutes by tuk-tuk) from the town center.
