Reviewed By MajorchuRooms were a bit cramped and no amenities. The bed was hard as rock and it would have been appreciated if there were an extra pillow. Set the temperature at 20 C but the room was still hot and stuffy so had to open the window for a while. The dinner was ok but not spectacular. We had the Shabu Shabu but the beef quality was so so and lacking the sesame sauce. Overall just average.

Beautiful surroundings
Reviewed By MoicheeThis is a big hotel, next to a gorgeous river. Hotel has been upgraded but still looks somewhat worn (but acceptable). However, it’s more than made up by the excellent service by all the staff. I want to congratulate Mori-San who is the manager for motivating such dedicated staff. The outstanding person at the reception was Ms Wang and her colleague Ms Xiao, who gave us invaluable assistance and service. One item, the floor leading to the wash area on the grand onsen for men is very slippery and need to be corrected to prevent a bad accident.

Good service and pleasant stay
Reviewed By Stewart CIt is not difficult to find from google map, driving there. The room itself was good although the common areas do need to be refurbished. Dinner was at a separate building (?separate restaurant) and the onsen associated with the restaurant was larger but without much amenities, and more public. The outdoor onsen there was not very hot. The smaller onsen at the hotel was better and not crowded when we used it. We enjoyed the horse-meat sashimi dinner.

Reviewed By KurokiFumikazu私たちが泊まった部屋は4階の和洋室でしたが、大きな窓から阿蘇５岳が見えます。お料理は和会席でしたが、地元の料理はとても美味しかった。源泉かけ流しの個別風呂があるので、いいお湯でした。風呂の種類も多く、料理も品数が多く、凄く満足しました。ただ中国からツアーが多くて、ちょっと気になりました。（凄くうるさかったのに、ホテルのスタッフは全然....） We stayed the room of Japanese-Western of 4th floor, that we could see Aso volcano via large windows. The dinner was Kaiseki and the local cuisine was very delicious. Due to there are 6 kinds of style of hot spring separate rooms, that I was really satisfied. Just too many Chinese tours stay here, that I felt a little ... (They were too much noisy, but staffs never ask them for quiet.)

A bit far from everything, except from the airport
Reviewed By Yaiko0419I chose this hotel because I drove while visiting Kyushu. So that the location was not a problem (I thought) but then after I drove all the way from Kagoshima to Kumamoto, I regret this choice. After arriving the hotel late at night, I still need to drive another 5 minutes (not walkable distance) to the nearest restaurant & convenience store. But the Onsen is good. The room is spacious and comfortable.

Reviewed By 美香 フマスカットティを頂きながらチェックイン。お部屋に入ると海がバーーンと見えて。早速お風呂にお湯を溜めながら、冷蔵庫にあるビールを頂きつつ、お部屋を探索。ちょっと下の公園を歩いてる人から見えるかもとハラハラしつつお風呂へ。気持ちよい。その後、本館６階の展望浴場へ。これほど贅沢な眺めはなかなかないぞとわくわくうきうきで露天風呂を堪能。それから、一息ついて夕陽が見える時間に合わせまた６階のお風呂。そこから見るサンセットはもう。ほんとに。心に残る物でした。夕ご飯は６時半からいただきました。前菜だけでもたっぷり、それから、天草大王のスープ。やさしいお味。伊勢えびとあわびの鉄板焼き、贅沢気分、おいしい。サトイモ団子、あんも全部おいしかったです。次があか牛ステーキ、言うことなし！！サラダをいただき、そのあとご飯を選べるので私は鯛茶漬け、夫はガーリックチャーハン。あー満腹。でもデザート別腹（笑）季節のフルーツとマロンのティラミス、おいしいコーヒー。大満足。美味しいお酒も頂いたので、温泉にまた入った後、ぐっすり眠りました。朝ごはんは夫が洋食私が和食のルームサービス。ごはんは土鍋で炊いていただいた物をそのまま持ってきてくださってて、ほんとにおいしくいただきました。また伺いますね

The “upscale” buffet dinner was horrendous (I’ve had better sushi at the local buffet in Hicksville, Long Island) and the hotel charged guests U.S. $8.00 to use the hotel pool?! The manager said, “I’m sorry.” Absolutely disgusting. 時々訪れたくなる下田温泉
Reviewed By primaverarose系列店の夢ほたると迷いましたが、同じプランが安かったのと貸切湯があるためこちらにしました。 お部屋は広い和洋室を用意していただきました。改装されて間もないようで、お手洗いも広くて綺麗でした。 洋室は少し昭和の雰囲気でしたがツインベッドとドレッサー、グラスの並べてあるチェストがあり、和室の方は琉球畳で気持ち良かったです。テレビも2台ありました。 冷蔵庫には温泉水がボトルに冷やしてありました。少しくせがあるけど、ふだん飲む機会がないので嬉しいサービスだなと思います。 早めに到着してゆっくり出来たので、来る途中の不知火で買ったフルーツや天草の地ビールを部屋で楽しみました。 夕食は伊勢海老付きのプランで、食べ切れないほどのご馳走をいただきました。伊勢海老や鯛、シマアジが美味しいのはもちろんのこと、初めて食べた鯛そうめんのお出汁の美味しさに感動しました。〆の鯛ご飯も美味しかったです。 子供(小学校低学年)のプレートも豪華でした。子供連れだと大人と同じ料理にするかプレートにするか迷う人も多いと思うので写真を載せておきます。量や内容など参考にしていただければと思います。(箱膳には、サラダ・ミニハンバーグ・海老フライ・唐揚げ・ミニアメリカンドッグ・唐芋の天ぷら・鯛とシマアジのお刺身・抹茶プリン。あとは、大人と同じ茶碗蒸しと鯛そうめん、鯛ごはんと白ごはんのおむすびひとつずつです。) 温泉は下田温泉なので、加水や加温をしない源泉掛け流しです。 同じフロアにある貸切湯は、気持ち良くて何度も浸かりました。朝8時まで夜通し入れるのが良かったです。 アメニティはシャンプー・コンディショナー・ボディソープのみです。 お部屋に歯ブラシと、くまモンの可愛いタオルがありました。 お部屋の洗面台に良い香りのハンドソープとタオルペーパーがあります。洗面台は広くて使いやすかったです。 赴きのある良いお宿でした。 お料理も温泉も大満足です。
