Absolutely Fantastic, meet new friends and experience why families are returning to their favorite Penticton Motel. Our rooms offer all the comforts and amenities of home. Our pool, courtyard and proximity to Okanagan Lake is simply the best.

Not what it used to be

Reviewed By 844jb

The Bowmont used to be a great value - not fancy but good facilities, very clean, friendly staff and great location. That has unfortunately changed with the new ownership. This was our third stay, first under this new ownership. Our room wasn't ready at check-in so we had to wait for it to be 'cleaned' - I'm not sure what they were doing while we waited, because the room was not at all clean once we were allowed in. Sink, dishes, kitchen walls, bathtub etc all had visible grime that we cleaned ourselves; dirty dish sponge left in sink from previous guests. The previous owners were meticulous about keeping the grounds clean and tidy, where now there will be litter on the ground every morning, pool towels left hanging everywhere. Just generally fairly gross. It's unfortunate because the location is perfect and it is such a cute quaint motel that is great for families, but with the way it is being maintained now we won't be returning.

Don't look to closely

I stayed at Beachside Motel on Saturday, March 19, 2022, for one night. I am someone who has backpacked all over the world and does not need a luxury hotel. My first issue was a boom box blasting music from someone's room at 11:20 pm. I tried to call the front desk but no one answered. After the boom box music ended, I had to listen to the neigbour's TV, which was very loud. There isn't a lot of insulation between rooms, so definitely bring your ear plugs. What really turned my stomach was the urine in the bathroom. I was having a bath and noticed that there was a large yellow stain around the base of the toilet. I thought it was the lighting so I took a damp towel and wiped it. It was urine and lots of it. They need to get better cleaners and clean around the toilets. I will not stay there again.

Never staying here again

We stayed at this hotel when our daughter had a dance competition in Penticton. I found there was a large contingent of what seemed to be unaccompanied minors and young people drinking and yelling in the hallways. I called down to the front desk 2 times between 11pm and Midnight. The front desk person told me it was only on their first week on the job and was left in a situation she wasn’t trained for. When I went to the lobby you could see where alcohol was spilled in front of the elevator door, in the elevator and in the hallway on the carpets. After talking to the staff at the front desk they told me they were going to ask the people to leave if it carried on, and it did till past 1am. Our first night there was the worst stay I’ve ever had in a hotel and it clicked to me that this was a hotel where parents send their kids to party instead of messing up their houses. The following morning I was going to check out and goto the best western when they assured me that the people on our floor had checked out. My 6 year old son and I went to the pool at 11am when another group in their 20s came in with open alcohol and were drinking so we left the pool. It seems like anything goes at the Hotel Penticton. The only real highlight of this place is the location and the pool when we weren’t having a bunch of people drinking around us. I can whole heartedly tell you I’ll never be back to this place. We went to the restaurant and homeless were coming in threatening to take their clothes off if they weren’t given a meal and I had to threaten the guy if he did that in front of my son and daughter I was going to beat him into a coma. You guys have a lot to look at your hotel in terms of professional conduction of business, staffing more than 1 person at a time and taking action to ensure your customers are getting what they paid for. This place is a total waste of money for what we experienced. I asked to be called by the manager and asked to speak to them 3 times and nothing. My advice is don’t stay here especially if you don’t want to hear kids party till the wee hours our the night. We will be back to Penticton next year for the same competition but will be staying at the Fairfield or the best western where the standards are higher, both are only a little bit more money and are worth it instead of no sleep. This had an effect on my daughter and ruined her performance from us being up all night only getting just 5 hours sleep. I bet Hotel Penticton won’t be in business very long if things continue to run like this. Good luck you’re going to need it.

Riverside - ok

Reviewed By Mavbitt

First off, our stay was as we expected from a “budget” hotel - nothing seriously wrong with the room, place or staff, just the wife and I prefer something a little more high end. That being said, brings us to why we choose this establishment- price. Our usual hotel wanted almost $300/ night - when we stayed there 3 weeks earlier for $145 / night - we didn’t appreciate the “price gouge” just because it was a long weekend. That being said, you do get what you pay for, to a point. The Riverside is a decent place, clean and being renovated and updated. We were in a recently renovated suite, it was ok, but nothing I would be proud of if I was the contractor doing the Reno. The finishing on the walls was sub par - the bathroom fan sounded like a airplane on takeoff, but the worst part, the lack of sound deadening in the walls. Very thin walls, very transparent sound wise. One other issue we encountered- how bright the room was - with the curtains closed - we didn’t need to use the lights at any point. The lights on the walkway outside our room, we’re bright enough to light up our room at night. Would we stay here again, yes - if our usual hotel was going to double its regular rate!!

Do Not Stay Here

Reviewed By randysquires

Don't be fooled by the pictures you see online, obviously these were taken long before the place allowed the transients to move in and take over. The pool was not usable and what water was in there was green. This is understandable given the COVID restrictions. The BBQ was not usable, it had a dead rodent in it. There was garbage everywhere on the property. On one side of the parking lot there was an old furnace and all the ductwork that had been removed at some point. The room we had recently had a new baseboard heater installed, the old one was left against the fence outside the door. Outdoor furniture scattered everywhere and left in varying conditions usable and not usable. Did I mention garbage everywhere. Oh and did I mention the ongoing traffic of local drug dealers coming and going and conducting their business. Had the pleasure of witnessing someone possibly over dosing? One older gentlemen who obviously runs the place did nothing that we could tell accept walk around smoking. His time would have been better spent picking up garbage. We came up with a group of 7, rented 3 rooms. Once couple opened the door to the room they were given to find someone occupying it....long term. Another in our group and to clean the garbage out of the room themselves because in smelled so bad. There is nothing positive to say about this property, it should be shutdown and condemned.
