Just south of Galle, Unawatuna boasts sandy beaches, swimmable seas, and a backdrop of lush palm trees. Known as one of Sri Lanka's liveliest beach haunts, the town offers hints of backpacker vibes, plus an Instragrammable beach rope swing, shoreline bars, and a happy-hour-filled main drag.

We arrived from the airport at 6am,the owner,Mrs Davis, was there to meet us and show us to our room and was anxious that we got some sleep before completing any of the formalities. The room was large and very clean with good air conditioning,a full size fridge and mosquito nets,we couldn't ask for more, although Mrs D did give us a kettle and some mugs as well! The pool was lovely with plenty of comfortable sun beds and it was never crowded during our 10 night stay.Mrs Davis went out of her way to make sure that we enjoyed our stay, with advice and tips on where to go,her son was on hand to provide transport with his tuk tuk and if we wanted to go further, her cousin.A real home from home can't recommend enough.

Dandelion (Palitha Guest House) and his family welcome you to their newly built, spacious, four bedroom guest house. Located just off the main beach access road, it is a short walk to the beach. Crypto currencies also accepted
The Palitha Guest House is located in Unawatuna, a place located around 6 KM away from the main Gallé town. The owner, Mr. Palitha, is a humble and helpful man, who is always wearing his smile on his face. I was warmly welcomed by him and his wife. Their home is located right next door. So, whenever I needed something, I could just walk to their home and they would attend to my request for assistance. In the same compound of the guest house, there’s also an Ayurveda Spa, managed by Chamika and Thusari. They are qualified and competent therapists, who offer affordable prices for their spa services. The rooms are reasonable and air-conditioned. The breakfast was decent. The compound is filled with flowers, plants and trees. I do recommend this place.

Ordered one drink and one dish and in 30 minutes the drink hadn’t arrived and we hadn’t seen anyone, no apology for the wait so we left. The restaurant was also very old and dated however nice view of the sea

Amazing old colonial house turned boutique hotel. Amazing setting where we saw the monkeys playing in the trees and our alarm clock was the peacocks chatting. Lovely setting about 10mins from the main town. Lovey small 4 bedroom boutique. Amazing staff who will always help you with whatever you need. Nice breakfasts and met some lovely guests there too. Nice pool area where you can spend your time. Would recommend for couples of families.

Situated deep in the quiet and peaceful southernmost end of the Unawatuna Bay, where peacocks and porcupines reign, Santori Guest House is an ideal getaway for those who seek undisturbed indulgence in their own existence. Being loved by many who enjoy meditation, yoga and reading, yet would prefer easy access to the beach, which is just a 4 minute walk. Apart from the main beach, which at its south end is famous for shallow, pool-like natural arrangement, and a hillock providing unobstructed birds eye view into the vast Indian Ocean and a beautiful sunset, Santori is conveniently located at walking distance to Jungle Beach. Santori offers spacious rooms with attached bathrooms, very high ceilings, 18000 BTU air conditioning, with private balconies / terrace or patio for most of them. Free fiber broadband wifi and free parking available on site. Safekeeping for your valuables can be provided on request. Santori is under 24/7 CCTV surveillance. It takes just 2 hours travel via expressway to reach Santori from Colombo Airport, and takes only 40 minutes to Mirissa and Hikkaduwa from there. You can ride a tuk-tuk to Galle Dutch Fort and railway station, situated just 5 km away. Airport shuttle and tours across the country can be arranged on request. Lunch and dinner options coming soon!
Room was big & clean. The bathroom was clean with basic amenities. We met one staff & he was friendly & helpful. They haven't a generator & that was a disadvantage in power cut season. They had a small parking area & it was an advantage in Unawatuna Area. Only 3-5 min walk to the famous Unawatuna Beach. They had a tasty basic type of breakfast. Recommended the place for foreigners who stay long period.

Villa Olga is a simple lodge situated in Unawatuna. We are not a luxury hotel but provide good value for money. All our rooms are air conditioned and have private bathrooms. We have double, triple and single rooms making it ideal for couples and families too to enjoy a great vacation in popular city of Unawatuna.
Me and my wife are on our honey moon and we are here right now. Do not even spend a single more minute searching for other places. Stay here. This guest house competes directly with 4 star hotels we have been and where we paid like 80 euros per night. Probably the Best spot we found on Sri lanka and we have been in a lot of places. The staff is amazing, the room is better then many 4 star european hotels and the food (ask for the creamy soup) is Just great. The only bad thing i find is the fact we are staying only 2 nights...

Villa ok 3 bed rooms with attached bathrooms. We give the room with breakfast.Villa ok 1 km to famous unawatuna beach.
This place was the best place we stayed in our entire Sri Lanka trip. The owner lady is so nice and sweet. She made sure the rooms were extremely clean. On request she made us excellent lunch and early breakfast too. The only draw back is the house is far from main road and beach area. If you can walk then it's about 1.5 km to 2km. You cant get Tuk tuk easily unless you pay more. To the nearest bus stop you should walk a km or so. On the whole it's worth your penny. Calm clean away from noise. By the way her little son Oneth is the sweetest. He chats with you sharing his life stories.
