Cosy, welcoming and great location
Reviewed By ciara1979We stayed in Hotel Jakobwirt during our mid term ski trip this year. We arrived late in the evening and were welcomed with a snack after check in which was a lovely touch. We are a family of 4 and had 2 adjoining twin rooms. The rooms are gorgeous with underfloor heating and really comfortable beds. We had lovely views of the town square and the mountains. Its located right in town and very close to everything including the main ski lift. Breakfast was really delicious with lots of choices and healthy options and everything was very plentiful. Eggs, croissants, rye bread, fruit salad, yoghurts and even bubbles. For dinner each evening we had a choice of a meat, fish, vegetarian or a kids option and all were very good. The staff were so kind and attentive, always adding little personalised touches right throughout the week. There is a pool and sauna and a games room where you can play pool too and the lobby area is very nice with good background music. On our second last day our son had an accident on the slopes that involved an ambulance trip to hospital and the hotel were fantastic arranging the medics and really looking after us all. I really recommend staying here and would love to come back again in the future. Thank you to all the team at Hotel Jakobwirt.

Our family-run 4-Star Superior Hotel. The village of Westendorf is located on a sunny plateau in the midst of the Kitzbuehel Alps. In summer a paradise for hikers and bikers, in winter the skiing areas Kitzbuehel and Wilder Kaiser-Brixental are directly accessible behind the Hotel by cable car. There is a new, idyllic golf course 1km away.
Great stay in lovely family hotel
Reviewed By SuzDubRecently returned from a week skiing in Westendorf and skiwelt area. Schermer hotel is a warm, friendly and welcoming hotel run by a great team. Jacob works hard to ensure all of his guests are well looked after and the staff are all excellent. The lounge area has been refurbished since our last visit as has a section of the restaurant. Both very nicely decorated in a more modern, chic style and very comfortable to sit in for a drink before dinner. Breakfast is excellent, loads of choice and freshly cooked eggs any way you would like. Dinner in the evening is good though can be a little unadventurous but very good standard all the same. Kids buffet provided every night too with ‘the usuals’ to keep kids happy. Great facilities to use after skiing e.g. pool and spa area. New ski/boot room is very nice and the new gym area looks very well equipped though didn’t use it this time. Family suites are very spacious with a big bathroom (bath and shower). Hotel is very well located for both the nursery slopes (5 min walk) or if you want to head straight to the gondola to get up the mountain (10 min walk). Would have no hesitation in recommending The Schermer for a great holiday in Westendorf.

"Arrive and feel good" is the motto of our house. We are a family business and have been personally looking after our guests for over 50 years. Our house is located about 5 minutes walk from the center in a quiet location in the middle of the beautiful Tyrolean mountains. Westendorf is situated on a sunny plateau in the middle of the Brixen valley, far away from any noisy traffic. The picture-perfect village centre with its excellent infrastructure is completely encompassed by mountains and is regarded as a link between Austria's largest connected ski areas, the Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental and the well-known Ski Area Kitzbühel/Kirchberg. It's not just in winter that visitors get their money's worth, summer in Westendorf also makes for plenty of thrills. Our natural jewel, the Windau valley, as well as the beautiful surrounding mountains, with peaks of up to 2,400 m offers a sheer inexhaustible hiking, mountain-biking and relaxation experience.
Friendly Family Run Hotel in quiet Austrian Resort
Reviewed By askmrjamesWe stayed here before Christmas. Arrival and check in was easy. It was quiet pre-christmas so we had the run of the place and a spacious family room on the top floor. The rooms were well decorated with quality finishes. The Hotel has had a renovation so is clean and modern but tastefully Austrian. The selection of food at breakfast was good and buffet style as most Austrian hotels. There was a nice bar in the hotel for apres ski or a quick drink before dinner. The cost of drinks was cheap in comparison to some French resorts we have stayed in. The half board included four course meals which started with a prepared salad dish, folowed by soup (and optional salad from the salad cart which we rarely had as there was too much food!) main course had three selections per night so plenty of choice for the week. Then dessert. All very traditionally Austrian. Well presented and all very tasty. We were well looked after by the family running the Hotel. In terms of location we were on the edge of Westendorf and a short walk from the slopes and ski hire/lift pass bookings. You can ski back to opposite the hotel. We hired a car so it wasn't a problem getting around Westendorf and it was an easy drive to nearby Brixen im Thale which you could access via the gondola system but its a bit of faff. There is a HUGE ski area to access.

Nice hotel a bit from the highway

It's located about 10 mins from the highway but that wasn't a problem for us. On the day of our check-in we realised we've booked the wrong date. Since hotels.com wouldn't allow us to change or cancel the booking we called the hotel directly. They were really helpful and since they had the rooms it was no problem and we weren't billed twice. We ate dinner at the hotel which was alright after a long drive but nothing special. Nice beds and clean, big rooms. No elevator.

Excellent place to stay in Westendorf

Great location (very close to the nursery slope and main lift system, yet in a quiet spot), very comfortable and clean rooms with everything you need, excellent breakfast with plenty of choice, plus the two most welcoming hosts you could imagine in Clive and Chris. We have only good things to say!

Amazing service and we enjoyed very much the location, rooms and the wellness. An exemplary family business.

Would have given 4 stars if not for the noise of the disco
Reviewed By ArboxI stayed for one (skiing) weekend at Hotel Mesnerwirt. Thinking of how to sum our stay up, the conclusion is that we have not experienced any real downsides or upsides, besides the noise from the basement club we suffered from. Our room looked good and was very clean. We had a corner room with a balcony, which was nice. The staff was, overall, very friendly. The hotel has a designated rooms to store skis and shoes, which is ideal. In terms of location, the hotel is located in the center and close to one of the lifts. Note that the lifts nearby (walking distance with shoes and skis)is actually a lift for the practice slope, after which you have to ski for a few minutes to the main gondola lift which is located out of town. As we have not experienced any real downsides or upsides, I would have given the hotel 4 stars. However, there are a few minor things which bothered me during the stay. First of all, we suffered from noise from the club in the basement. Although we were extremely tired ourselves and therefore were able to catch sleep, I woud feel bad if I would have to suffer the noise for a full skiing week in the high season. Therefore, please take this into account while booking your stay. Secondly, we experienced the food to be extremely salty.
