Simple hotel
Reviewed By SoHengHengWe stop over this hotel after visiting Wakasa fisherman's wharf. It was a raining day and we missed 2 places of attraction which were in our itinerary . It is a very very simple hotel, the room is small but they provide 3 single beds. We book non smoking room but the room was filled with cigarette smell which we got to get rid of with our own essential oil spray. The only thing that we could praise is they actually provide free simple curry rice dinner. We had plan to drive out for dinner but as it was raining so so heavily, we ended up enjoying the curry rice. The breakfast is standard Japanese breakfast with rice, miso soup and 12 types of small dishes.

Reviewed By MunichEricJThe hotel is a short 100m from the train station, you walk along but don’t even have to cross the small road leading to the hotel. The friendly staff checked me in to Room 713, a nice twin room on the top floor with views south and overlooking the station. There are warm wood tones and the feeling is pleasant. The bedding was very comfortable and the room was quiet. There was minimal noise from the station, even with the window opened. The work desk was large and there were lots of places to hang towels, shirts to air out, etc. The onsen was excellent. The bathroom is a standard biz hotel affair with one- piece counter / sink, compact tub / shower. Breakfast was very good, mostly Japanese style, well- prepared and tasty. The staff were great throughout, very helpful and eager to please. There are a lot of restaurants in the area, mostly Japanese – fish, yakitori, and so on. About a ten minute walk away are two Italian restaurants which looked really good, but they were booked up. A few days later I checked back in and got Room 603, a single. It was a lot smaller than the twin. IMO, the twin is worth the extra charge.

Rooms are so smelly, could not sleep at all.
Reviewed By Shlomi TRooms are so smelly, could not sleep at all. I booked a single smoking-room, since that is all they had on the booking site. When I arrived, the room was so smelly, it was terrible. I ask if they can change the room to a non-smoking one. They have asked an extra $25 because that room had 2 beds. I can only sleep on one bed and no one is going to book a room at 22:00 A nice hotel does not charge you for changing the room to a non-smoking one, if it is available. Route Inn is a chain I try to stay away from as much as I can. I regarded them as one of the worst hotels chain in Japan. Very rarely I stay in one of their hotels, only when I have no choice and nothing ells can be found around, like this time. Hopefully, will not have to stay in one of those again.

Hidden gem with a stunning ocean view!
Reviewed By liiiinaI stayed at the 'Hikari(光)' room at Chobei and it was beyond my expectations! I was amazed how close it was to the sea, it's literally just a few steps away from the terrace. It's hard to see on the pictures, but the room is very clean and modern. Even though it's a half-Japanese room and has a lot of traditional decor, all the facilities (toilet, bath, TV) are new and high class. I chose the cheapest meal plan, but it was still very luxurious for my standards. I was told that the Ryokan keeps their fish in the ocean in a net, which is why the seafood stays alive until moments before they are served to the guests. And you could certainly taste the freshness, I'm not sure I ever ate seafood so fresh in my life before! Each person also has a mini shabu-shabu where they can boil fish and vegetables. The sake they had was yummy too, I forgot the name but the one we ordered was very easy to drink and didn't feel harsh at all. I would definitely stay at Chobei again if I'm in the area. The staff was friendly, the food was amazing, and the room was great. There really is nothing more to ask for.

Reviewed By curono4月初めに一人旅で利用させてもらいました。 宿はリニューアルしたばかりのようで部屋も綺麗でした。また部屋からは海がよく見え立地も良いと思います。夕食も美味しいだけでなくボリュームもありお値打ちな宿だと感じました。夏に宿泊すれば海水浴も楽しめそうだと思いました。女将さんも気さくな感じで話しやすかったです。

Reviewed By toritori33ホテルの経営者兼フロントの大谷と言うおばさんがあまりにも対応が悪いです。 とにかく無愛想。 そんなに不服ならホテル経営なんかするなよと思います。 カード決済を希望すると「近くに銀行があるからおろして現金で支払え」とか「決済金額を間違えた」と夜中にフロントに呼び出されたり。 お客様が神様だと言うつもりは毛頭ございませんが、あまりにもお客を舐めていると思います。 宿泊はおすすめしません、絶対に。
