Reviewed By heinzrudolf71Wunderschöne, gut durchdachte Häuser, sehr gemütlich. Der Besitzer ist sehr nett und man merkt, wie viele Gedanken und Ideen er hier eingebracht hat. Die Umgebung bietet für Wanderer, Fahrrad Fahrer und Familien wunderschöne Wege und Ziele. Man muss wirklich nicht weiter weg fahren um an schöne Orte zu gelangen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Welcoming, family-run atmosphere
Reviewed By ihlcraigWe stayed here with two young (<5) children for two nights and were very well looked-after. The rooms were large, with plenty of space to spread out. They were also recently decorated and refurbished. The staff were always friendly. We ate both nights in the restaurant, which was very good value for money. There is a large garden at the back with a play area, which was a great environment to sit and relax whilst the kids ran around. The only complaint would be the service in the restaurant on one of the nights. It took at least 30 minutes to get our drinks after ordering, and an hour to get the food. With small kids, this was definitely no fun. The mitigating circumstances were that it was a public holiday, the place was packed, and it seemed as if there was a family party going-on out the back. Nevertheless, would definitely visit again.

Reviewed By CPMarousiWe have been in Pottenstein before but first time in this restaurant. The fish was great, served as fillet with sauces , with salad and boiled potatoes. The taste was very good, portions reasonable and all these coupled with very good service form the family owners. We will return

Reviewed By stutt21Located near the centre of picturesque Pottenstein and the big advantage of this hotel is that the price includes direct access to the municipal swimming pool complex (large main, splash & chute - sauna extra fee). The hotel is a throwback to the 1980s and décor still retains many of those original features. Comfortable bedrooms with balconies and refurbished en-suites. Breakfast room a bit dingy and soulless but reasonable spread. Café/bar area for communal usage. Friendly staff. Wi-fi hotspot with fast internet access. Free parking area. Appears to be popular with family groups so avoid main holiday times if bothered by the potential presence of feral children.

Bruckmayers in Swiss Franconia
Reviewed By SimonsdvdStayed here for a week when attending the Ring Cycle in Bayreuth. We opted for the apartment which was excellent. It was well equipped and spacious. The Gastehaus was friendly and clean and provided an excellent breakfast. Pottenstein is a very pretty village set in a dramatic gorge. There are plenty of local attractions suitable for all ages and many restaurants with reasonably priced and high quality food. The castle which overlooks the village is well worth visiting.

Great budget hotel, charming host
Reviewed By OBIn stayed in a single room in December and was very happy with my choice. The gasthof is not the most pittoresque but the traditionnal dining room is cosy and the rooms are very clean. Special mention for the great smelling towels and linens. Breakfast (not included) is traditionnal german breakfast, simple and good. There is. Parking lot less than five minutes away on foot. The gasthof is located in the middle of the village. there is wifi (I was not able to access it but it may have been my phone). The host was very nice and helpful, even though both our grasp of the other's language was limited! All in all, a great budget hotel in a charming region.

Sehr schöne, einfache Pension
Reviewed By 923matthiasfWir waren über das Wochenende in der Fränkischen Schweiz wandern. Dafür ist die Pension einfach ideal. Sie ist ruhig, sehr zweckmäßig eingerichtet, man schläft gut. Auch hatten wir einen sehr schönen Balkon. Das reichhaltige und liebevoll zubereitete Frühstück ergänzte diesen positiven Eindruck. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Reviewed By MasoorDalDie FeWo Hummelshof liegt etwas außerhalb von Pottenstein in einer ruhigen Lage. Ein Golfplatz ist auch nur ein paar Meter weit entfernt. Die FeWo ist großzügig mit allem, was man so braucht (inkl. Fön) und hatte auch eine Terrasse. Die Vermieterin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Besonders schön war der morgendliche Brötchenservice. Parkplätze sind vor dem Haus vorhanden.

Very pleasant stay in Pottenstein
Reviewed By Y1731KRanjabMy partner and I stayed at the Goldene Krone for 3 nights and had a very pleasant stay. I booked through phone, which was very easy and I received my booking confirmation by email within a couple of hours. We arrived a bit early, rooms are available from 3pm, but were able to leave our car at the inn’s car park and explore Pottenstein. The inn is located right in the centre, next to a bakery and ice cream place, opposite the local shops, and close to attractions like the castle (steep walk) and mini golf. Our room was located in the guest house Reussenmuehle. It was clean, not too hot despite the warm weather, and with lots of sockets. The beds were comfortable. The TV in the room was small with only a few channels but after a day out and belly full of Franconian food you just want to sleep. The odd thing was that the shower cubicle somehow missed a part of the door, which led to a wet floor. However, it was set up as a wet room floor and cleaned every day, so not a big problem. WiFi is available for a fee but mobile (O2 4G) reception was very good. Breakfast was served as a buffet in the dining room in the back of the building. There was a very good selection of bread rolls, cereals, hot drinks, juice, cold meat, cheese and sweet spreads. Lunch and dinner is served in the restaurant with a daily changing menu of local specialties (eg Schäuferle, Roulade, Sauerbraten...). Food is tasty and reasonably priced. The restaurant can get busy, so there might be a slightly longer wait for the food. The owners and all staff were friendly, helpful (eg sorting out a fishing permit) and tried to accommodate our wishes such as reserving a table at a busy time. The inn seems to be popular with hikers and cyclists. There are strict hygiene measures in place, such as specific rules for breakfast (gloves and extra plates being provided) and hand sanitiser dispensers across the building. We would definitely stay again.
