Clean, simple and perfect for us
Reviewed By yaso001We stayed at U studio for one night on a girls' weekend away. The room had everything that we needed. somewhere clean and safe to stay, with friendly staff. The bed was comfy, the kitchen had all we needed - tea / coffee facility, fridge, stove, free milk on arrival. The rooms had a standalone fan, and heaters. Plus an Iron and ironing table. We would definitely by back to U Studio. Thank you team for making our stay comfortable.

Reviewed By SBH10636Generally comfortable but the bathroom we had needed upgrading with a detachable shower head. There was a very noisy meeting within earshot of our room one evening. The hotel was very sparsely staffed, no doubt due to COVID, but their precautions seemed thorough.

Too Far from city center
Reviewed By PatMacnz64The Bathroom was great and the room spacious but there was no sky tv and the room lighting was very dim. The restaurant and bar were not open according to a sign that read closed due to covid 19 and staff redundancies. The person in reception gave us no information at all regarding the hotel itself or the surrounding area or where to eat. including that we could park outside our unit. After 6 pm there is absolutely no staff in the hotel even at night and no details for whom to contact if you need anything. I was asked for my vaccine pass upon check-in but my wife was not. Ask for a room at the back as it is quieter, there are other motels closer to town as this is not within walking distance it is a 20-minute drive. There was a sofa in the room and bedside lamps, as well as a kettle and tea and coffee and the liquid soap, was watered down to save money. There was a patio to sit out on and enjoy the sunset.

Reviewed By JBWrayBooked for two nights with cabin with shared facilities. Cabin was close to amenities and comfortable. Heat pump kept us warm and bedding was exceptionally good quality. All amenities were modern and clean. Value for money. The camping ground was reasonably full. Has to be one of the best camp sites in the country.

The Summit Lodge, Gladstone provides purpose built, boutique, rural accommodation for a maximum of 6 guests in a private wing of the lodge. Each guest room has ensuite facilities and a private patio as well as heat pump/air con. Pillow-top super king/twin single beds and quality linen. A large lounge is available exclusively for guest use and the Lodge offers wifi access throughout. Beautiful views of large gardens and rolling hills, alpacas to meet, cats as well as a Labrador dog. Cooked and continental breakfast options with home baked bread, home toasted muesli, fresh fruit, espresso coffee/teas, free range eggs and locally cured bacon. Dinners available with notice featuring local, seasonal produce; served dinner-party style. Single storey and wheelchair accessible, Child-free. Close to several wineries, golf courses and many other Wairarapa attractions. 15 Min drive to Masterton and Carterton and 20 mins to Greytown and Martinborough. Local country inn, 3km.
Country Serenity at its best
Reviewed By yasharnajaflouMy wife and I stayed in the lodge for a night to celebrate my wife's birthday. We enjoyed the peacefulness of Gladstone area and the lodge. Unfortunately we could not use the spa since it was shut due to COVID. Having said that, there were plenty of relaxing leisurely activities in the gardens (including the Lamas) that time flew so fast. The host booked us a seat in Gladstone Inn with complimentary transport. The hosts were welcoming and very sociable. The rooms were tidy and inviting. I would recommend anyone who has not been to Gladstone area to pay a visit and stay in this lovely place.

Reviewed By GillianM109Totally recommend - Pat and Dave are down to earth with a great sense of humour! Our unit was spic and span (even an apology for a mark on the carpet she could not remove). Spacious car park outside door. We out of reach of road noise, just perfect! Most obliging couple, and we felt very special with a treat of home grown veg along with our lamb shanks! Thanks so much both of you and we hope to be back soon. A motel with friends

Reviewed By Elaine KThis is one of the best motel I’ve stayed in. We are a family of 4 and found the room spacious and generous. Beds and pillows were comfy and clean. Small kitchenette in the room, for simple cooking. Toiletries replenished each day. There is laundry and dryer available, just see staff for assistance. Room is serviced very tidily and to a high standard each day, thanks to Anne, our room housekeeper. Resham the manager is helpful and goes the way out to help. Fantastic service. Good central location, near supermarkets. Very comfortable stay. Highly recommended!

Clean hotel
Reviewed By Kikki0Nice hotel with clean spacious rooms but our room backed onto the main road so it was really noisy. We were suggested to keep all windows closed to stop cigarette smoke from smokers drifting into the rooms and to keep the traffic noise down but that wasn't really possible in the hot weather. The smoking was pretty bad and unpleasant as it filled the rooms quickly. Otherwise, everything was clean and comfortable.

Lighthouse walk just up the beach and perfect to sit on the beach with a wine and watch the lighthouse light up with colours in the evening
