A comfortable base
Reviewed By AussieOnTheRoadcomBeing more of a traditional hotel. Hotel Nami is a bit of a different experience after two-weeks of quaint ryokan. With that being said, it's still a comfortable futon, a delicious sit-down meal served in your room, and the same high level of service you find all across Japan. The attached onsen is a delight and the views from our room were spectacular. The staff even bent over backwards to accommodate my poor girlfriend when she needed ice packs and a bed made up to help recover from a sprained ankle.

Reviewed By BambooscentNice resort in Kumano that I would recommend if you are walking the Kumano Kodo (trail): Pro: - beautiful hotel ground - some staff speaks English very well, actually saw non-Japanese staff there, for staff who couldn't speak English they were very friendly - if you don't want to walk the Kumano Kodo by yourself they have tour with shuttle bus that takes you between sections - good price - we stayed at the inidividual chalet decorated in traditional Japanese element that is quite beautiful and relaxing - hotspring available Cons: - hotspring was way too crowded as you can also do for day hotspring - lack of amenities in hotpspring change room - food was mediocre, but given the price, the food is not bad

Reviewed By TourGuideTanzanHotel facilities are old and bit outdated, though still acceptable. The good points of this hotel is location. Only about five minutes from the JR Kumano Station. Beach is only two minutes away. There are several shops and restaurants available neaby.

Reviewed By ankyo古い民家を改装したゲストハウスです。おじさん、おばさんが行くと、昔ながらの昭和の家、黒電話があったり、古い桐ダンスがあったり、昔なつかしのぼっとん便所（現代化しており臭くない！）も体験できてなかなか笑えます。カシラの山さんは腰の低い方で究極のサービスを目指されています。一人3000円という値段を考えると、かなり面白いです。山さんに近くの飲み屋を紹介していただき、おいしい魚を食べ、ワイワイガヤガヤ飲んでしゃべって2000円！本当に楽しい１泊でした。 This guesthouse is based on the old Japanese house. You can experience the real old Japanese culture ( maybe 1960-1970s ) because the facility is based of these era. But the rooms are comfortable! Latest Hitachi air conditioner and WiFi is available. May be you can have a good time in the dining, which has microwave oven, refrigerator. There are lot of UNESCO heritage around Kumano, and you can also feel the real rural Japanese old buildings and culture especially of fishing guys.

2 Onsens, cute trolley train and excellent relaxation
Reviewed By nugetzLovely hotel with good Onsen that has a view of the Kitayama river. With 550yen, you can take the mining trolley train to Yunoguchi onsen and use the outdoor Onsen there as well! The driver of the trolley train is very kind to advise me to get towels from the reception to bring to Yunoguchi onsen when he saw that I did not have anything with me! The room is clean and warm and has a good view too. There was no vegetarian dishes on the menu but upon request, the chef was able to make a tasty vegetarian ramen for my dinner as well as a great breakfast. I had a lovely stay and would recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing stay.

Reviewed By gamushi古い旅館ですが、「女将の料理」は美味く、宿泊費は安いので評価点を４点としました。 各論は以下の通りです。 ・立地は駅に近く、徒歩圏に獅子岩等の名勝もあり、良いと思います。 ・内装等ボロボロですが、手入れは行き届いています。 ・布団の寝心地は良かったです。 ・食事は、女将の手料理でしたが、刺身は「スーパーの惣菜」レベル。（市場が休みの日だったので、やむを得なかった可能性はありますが）刺身は無いほうが良かった。他の手料理はそこそこイケる味でした。 ・風呂は岩風呂で広く、良かった。
