Great stay along the way
Reviewed By johanhagerStayed here for a night on our way back to sweden and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel. Friendly staff and a nice location with plenty of different activities nearby. We were also surprised by a free upgrade to the superior suite which was just what we needed after a long days driving. This hotel offers everything you need on site. It is well worth a stop if you are looking for a place to stay while driving through germany.

Good place for your workshops or lunch break on a hike
Reviewed By Charly-TA76Regarding the hotel: I stayed here twice for work related seminars and workshops. Both times I enjoyed the stay: clean rooms, wide selection during breakfast buffet, good food for lunch/dinner and well equipped seminar rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful in cases we needed their support. Regarding the beerbarden/restaurant: stopped here mutiple times during hikes in or excursions to the Frankionian Swiss for lunch. The food is always fresh and tastes well. Had different things over time: salads, Flammkuchen, burger etc.

Visit twice, first time was lovely second time was insulting
Reviewed By Chelsea PMy husband and I stopped here in June 2017 on our way to Karlovy Vary. We were so impressed with the quality of service and beautiful clean rooms and utterly delicious food, we decided to take my parents in Sept 2017 when they came for a visit from the USA. The visit with my parents in September was not as good. My parents and I felt targeted as foreigners. Although during the June 2017 visited we paid with an EC card, for the Sept visit we were told they do not accept EC cards and the bill needed to be paid in cash. Additionally this information was relayed to us directly after dinner and in front of the other hotel guests. It was quite embarrassing and We felt targeted as foreigners. We were so insulted I had my husband call them and explain how rude that behaviour was and to ask why suddenly we were not allowed to pay with a card. Needless to say, my family and I will not go back to this hotel even though their Horseradish schnitzel is to die for. I would recommend just stopping to eat, not stay at the hotel especially if you are a tourist.

Good room, quite ok food, some accessibility restrictions
Reviewed By drjobecThere are two parts in this place: one is the BnB and the other the restaurant. First the BnB: to get to the room, you'll need to walk some tight stairs, so accessibility is not the focus here. Also the climb from the lower parking place can be much for problematic legs. The rooms (as most of the interior) have been apparently renovated quite recently and they are nice and roomy. The only minus for the room is that there was a very prominent aroma from the kitchen below. The breakfast is plenty for a BnB. All in all quite nice. But one would expect so for the price... Then the restaurant. Note the opening hours (e.g., closing quite early for guaranteeing peace for the house guests) and a reservation is recommended. The dishes make an effort to be a bit more. Still, one could trade in some of the quantity. The food was otherwise actually good, but very heavily salted (all the dishes we tried).

Great place to stay
Reviewed By W0rldtraveler48When you are traveling in Germany and not really sure of where to stay, it can be risky getting a hotel or staying in a Zimmer. This one was fantastic place to stay. The rooms are extremely clean. There wasn't a spot on a window and the bathroom was extremely clean. The only thing I think is strange is that there is no soap or wash rag in the bathroom, but that is typical in Europe. The beds were very comfortable. The room was spacious and very quiet. The breakfast provided was great. The food was good and the room was Germany quaint. I would stay there again.

Reviewed By Tandyjo_2000This is a real find! Just on the edge of town, only a few minutes walk to the castle, shops and restaurants. Very clean and modern. Breakfast is superb. The family that owns and runs this hotel are very helpful and friendly. Many waking/biking/hiking trails. A wonderful area for outdoor activities and adventures for all ages. Free parking.

Reviewed By 340jackSuper clean with very friendly owners. Beautiful countryside walks. Very close to other points of interest. Excellent value! Quiet location in farm setting. Breakfast was typical bed and breakfast style for Germany. Surrounding area is like a picture postcard.

Difficult for disabled travellers
Reviewed By Tim HThe property is split into a number of annexes, each more challenging for disabled travellers. We were allocared a suite at the top of eighteen extremely steep concrete steps. The breakfast room was also at the top of a similar number of steps consequently we missed each breakfast but were still charged for the pleasure of missing the meal. The rooms are dated but spacious, needless to add we will not return.
