Every single member of staff we came across were so lovely, helpful and professional. We were looked after from the second we arrived to the second we left. Special thanks to Memet in the restaurant who looked after us and was always smiling. Whilst staying at the hotel we organised a boat trip on the hotel boat to go snorkelling, which was spectacular! Beautiful pool area, bar area to watch the sunsets and nice food. Would recommend!

To the West, the sun sinks behind the perfect cone of Bali’s Mt Agung as it releases all the colours of the rainbow. Sunrise Resort is situated in Gili Air’s top location - fine, white coral sand gives way to breathtaking snorkeling directly off-shore, accessible at both high and low tides (unique on Gili Air). Within 50 metres, lies a reef teaming with colourful fish and turtles in crystal clear water. Perfect for swimming, snorkelling or diving and always at idyllic temperatures (25-32°C).

Reviewed By Julie-ann ASo please we booked the Sunrise. Sadly we didn’t realize how bad Gili Air still was after COVID still and there is very little open on the island. The Sunrise had a great little spot with a small area of private beach immediately in front. Comfy sun beds with umbrellas. On arrival you are given a lovely cold towel and welcome drink and the friendliness of the staff makes you realize that you have made a good choice. The rooms are lovely with very high ceilings and a comfy bed. There was a pedestal fan as well as AC which is nice. An extension lead was very very handy also. Small fridge to keep waters cold. Lovely toiletries to use in the room all that you are able to purchase at reception. The staff at the resort are all amazing. Super friendly and go out of their way for everything. The food is really good & of high standard. We never had one bad meal. Pool area is nice but is very shaded by trees. I was a bit wary of some of the coconuts up in the tall trees in a windy day we had. Grounds were always being worked on and well kept. Pool service by yusef a lovely smiling guy who was always on hand. Safone (not sure of the spellings) & Bali were honestly some of the best staff we have encountered at any resort around Bali and a total credit to the Sunrise. If we were to return to Gili Air we would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to others.

We are located on the Tropical Island of Gili Air and offer various types of accommodation on this beautiful and tranquil piece of paradise set in the heart of Indonesia just off the North Western tip of Lombok. Gili Air bungalows are set within a walled garden area approx 200 meters from the beach and on the Eastern side of Gili Air, which enjoys the sunrise over Mt Rinjani. Set within this garden area is a swimming pool which includes a paddling pool ideal for young children.

Reviewed By Sian JGreat location, quiet as it is set back from the back (about 150m) but very easy to walk or cycle everywhere. It took us less than 10mins to walk to the port and about 3 mins to cycle it. The accommodation was great. I have 2 teens and as there were 3 beds (2 doubles and a generous day bed) in the room, we all had enough sleeping space and there was no need to swap who slept where! The breakfast was very generous and after the 1st morning we didn't order everything we could have because it was just too much food. They are connected to a bigger beach hotel and there is a room service menu that was great for the couple of times we didn't feel like going out again. Staff were lovely and although most didn't have much English, they always got someone who speak to me. My daughter accidentally left her necklace there and 24hrs after leaving I emailed them and they found it and are doing their best to return it to me the safest way. I would very happily stay there again. Lovely bathrooms, my shower had hot water.

A gem of a find
Reviewed By edaugustinFriendly and obliging staff with a personal touch who go out of their way to please, including booking a snorkeling trip for us. All the staff wished Rosalind on her birthday (finding out the date from her passport), sang Happy Birthday to her and decorated our bed with 'Happy Birthday' using petals when we were out. We had breakfast on the sandy beach every morning with the sun rising behind Mount Rinjani. We could walk the short distance from the beach to the sea without having to use shoes or slippers as there were no corals on the beach during the time of our stay. The accommodation was good. A bedroom with air conditioning, bedside lights, fridge and a safe. Everything was on site or within a short walking distance. We stayed for three nights and could have stayed longer. A Joglo is a type of traditional house of the Javanese people. The word joglo refers to the shape of the roof. Our teak wood 3 bedroom private pool Joglo's is situated 10 minutes from the harbour & 15 minutes to the Scallywags restaurant & beach. Each Joglo is on 500 sqm of secluded garden, there are 2 queen size bedrooms & 1 twin bedroom, each air conditioned bedroom has a TV & DVD with security safety box & ensuite bathroom with hot & cold fresh water showers. The master bedroom opens out to the soft comfy lounge with a view to the 8 metre swimming pool, the other 2 back bedrooms open on to a fully fitted kitchen. There is a BBQ outside to sizzle steaks & seafood on whilst socialising with your other guests around the pool. There is ample seating & sun loungers including a bale hut to relax.
Dirty and a lot of insects
Reviewed By GcroosWe have stayed 3 times before at Scallywags and they were all good. This time it was terrible. We arrived at the reception were there was nobody, after texting them someone came. No warm greetings, no welcome drink, not even asking how our trip was. Not how we are used to being greeted in Bali. We were the only occupied room in the hotel, the room itself was ok, but not very clean. We went to the pool and within 30 minutes we were bitten by insects. Also the pool and the pool beds were dirty. Instead of staying 5 days as planned we left after 1 day. We complained at the reception but they just said take the complaints to the company were we booked the room. Not recommended

Reviewed By TerraExploratorThis is really a place that gives you exactly what you see on the internet and also expect. We were so happy to find this little gem of hotel in Gili Air. The walk from the harbour to the hotel is about 12 minutes, and it was very easy to find. The norwegian hotel manager girl was so friendly and welcoming. She gave us loads of recommendations and helped us with our questions. The rooms are amazing, spacious and very clean! The beds are super comfy and the walls were actually thick enough to have some quiet, not like the previous hotels we stayed in in Bali... The breakfast was good, fresh juices made according your actual mood, the portions could have been bigger but its fine. The pool was nice a clean and we could swim even at night if we wanted to. We enjoyed our new years eve on the island and got to stay indoor on the first day of the year as it was pouring down outside, but we loved every minute of it. It was just super relaxing! thank you and wish you all the best, hope to visit again one day :)

Our speedboat can do drop and pick up directly to the beach in front of the Hotel, so happy with this, no need long walk with luggage from the harbor. Direct pool access from the room, so good. Staffs very friendly and helpful. Bike rent is available. The best part is, you can have the best beach section of the entire island just in 2 minutes walking. Definitely will come back.
