Amazing location, beautiful rooms

Reviewed By ThisisBarbaraR

We recently spent a week at Jungle Bay and our only regret is that we didn't add on a few extra days to simply enjoy the property! The staff is incredibly friendly, we were warmly greeted by everyone we ran into, from the owner to the gardeners to the restaurant staff. We went to a few other spots on the island and without a doubt Jungle Bay has the absolutely best service. We were traveling with our 19 year old son and stayed in one of the large villa suites - it was absolutely beautiful. Far larger than I expected, with an extra bed in a little alcove, a spacious sitting area, plenty of storage, and a very large patio. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion are provided in large bottles rather than small individual toiletries, which we appreciate from an environmental standpoint. There's a safe in the rooms as well. The shower is "outdoors" in that it's not part of the main air-conditioned part of the room, but it is completely private and quite large. I would highly recommend the suites over the standard 2-person villas, which are much smaller (still very nice, though). The villas are set a nice distance apart from each other, nestled among flowers and plants. It's the perfect balance of luxury and being embedded in nature. There's a lovely restaurant and infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Breakfast is a nice buffet, with a lot of fresh fruit, baked goods, and various hot dishes along with a made-to-order omelet station. Dinner rotates through 5 or 6 different menus so there are different options almost each night in a week. The soups are delicious and there are always a few main entree choices - chicken, fresh fish, and vegetarian options. We were never there for lunch so I'm not sure what's on the menu for that. But you can order small sandwiches to take with you on excursions if you won't be at the resort for lunch. Jungle Bay sits on a hill overlooking the town of Soufriere, so be prepared for some steep terrain if you want to walk to/from town (or even to some of the farther away units). Our villa (#4) was very close to the main building, but some of them are quite far away. Within the resort you can call to have a golf cart take you between your villa and the main building, and you can get a car to take you to town and back for $5 per person each way. There's another pool closer to the villas that are in the upper part of the property, as well as a spa and yoga studio. The resort can arrange various hikes and excursions, but we had a separate guide who came to pick us up so we didn't do any of the activities organized specifically by Jungle Bay. They also have some packages that include various activities and excursions. Definitely get out and explore while you're there - the island is stunning, with mountains and rain forests and waterfalls. It's one of the most beautiful islands we've ever been to. We loved the privacy and quiet, which seems to be getting harder and harder to find. If you're someone who appreciates non-stop activities, entertainment, and a party vibe this is probably not the best place for you. But if you're looking for an old-school Caribbean vibe mixed with luxury, get to Jungle Bay ASAP!

Sweet little hotel with the best views and great vegetarian food

Reviewed By guadeloupeguide

We stayed at the Champs with our family for two nights and had a great time! The views are the best, as the hotel is on a hill. You can see all over Portsmouth from here. There is a pool with a sun tanning deck which is a nice place to hang out. We were really impressed with the restaurant as they were able to whip up gluten-free vegan food upon request. The food was delicious and quite varied. Parents of young kids will need to keep a close eye on their offspring because the railings are built with big gaps on them and there are a few tall flights of stairs near the rooms.

Stunning Hotel with Excellent Service

Reviewed By CaribbeanGreenQueen

I spent three nights at the hotel and it is as stunning as the photos. Upon arrival the check in process was smooth. The room beautiful with a very soft and comfortable bed. I absolutely loved how quiet the hotel was. The handwritten notes and complimentary bouquet on my birthday made me fall in love with the hotel for sure. The food was great. The only issue with the hotel is that there isn't as much food readily available and it's on the more expensive side. However service and quality was great. I would recommend a stay at the Cabrits Kempinski for sure, it's a beautiful establishment deserving of Future success.

TROPICALLY BEAUTIFUL AND SAFE

Reviewed By Rrochin

Rosalie Bay Eco Resort and Spa surpassed our expectations in a number of ways: Magnificent rooms with super sized King Bed and air conditioning with modern convenience. Also global stream of channels that included our favorites for news and movies. Internet [WiFi] worked well without failure. And I teach online for PennStateUniversity. I used iPhone 13 and my wife iPad. Dining easy and well served. Modest dining hall with bar and rapid service. Breakfast menu ranges from Vegan to Sausages and eggs [fried, soft, pouched, scrambled and omelettes]. Fresh juices and coffee made from Dominica beans. Gracious service. Lunch available but dinner superb. The young Chef was attentive and prepared excellent dinners of regional lobster, seafood and vegetables. She is a master of local herbs and native fruits and vegetables. Diet is native to Dominica. Healthy, tasty and fresh. SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST; ECO RESORT includes Turtle watch for three different types that lay their eggs within a small bay very near the seaside Resort. Kayaks available - however - for skilled swimmers. The ocean can be rough. GREEN GREEN all around the resort. Trails for brief hikes on labeled trails. I am 80 and my wife 75. We are world travelers by profession. We are healthy and the resort spa and pool kept us massaged, agile and active. Our week was one of our best experiences - compared to vacations in Europe, Mexico, Africa and the USA. Should also note, we saw our grandchildren with their mother and families - natives of Dominica. Lots seen with family. Eco Lodge driver Zahir Oscar recommended. A knowledgeable native who used to sail the seas from the Caribbean to Mediterranean. May turned out to be a cool month with afternoon brief rains and light breezes.

It' s situated on a cliff a bit outside of town where it is really quiet and at night the place will transform to a thousand-stars hotel because there are not many lights disturbung the sky.. very romantic:)! The new rooms are very colorful, spacious and clean and offer everything you need for a pleasent stay.. great sea view included!! I felt very welcoming from Didier (the owner of the place) and the other guests (as I was travelling alone) and I had the chance to make every day a tour on the island with a group of other guests. The tours are really intresting and we were on the road all day for a really good price! If you go there, is a must to try the belgium fries of Didier! They are excellent! Really delicious! The rooms are spartan but quite comfortable and affordable. The meals are delicious, the property is beautiful with beautiful views....and Carina and Lester are gracious accommodating hosts. Recommended highly for those seeking nature, peace, and quiet without luxury frills. I will be back.
