Small hotel in a small town
Reviewed By Martin JIt is a small hotel in a smal town so don´t expect anything fancy. The building itself is wooden so you will wake up when someone else wakes up. The bed is OK, but the blanket was quite small, luckily I am not a huge person. Ameneties are fine so all-in-all it was a good stay. Breakfast is small but don´t be afraid to ask for eggs etc. The biggest plus is the sauna, a huge plus in my mind, beatiful new sauna with a very relaxing vibe!

Great Hotel
Reviewed By Chris WI stayed at this hotel whilst I was in Clausthal doing some family research. It is located right across the park from Oberharzer Bergwerks Museum, which I wanted to visit. On arrival I was met by the owner and shown to my room, which was really great and looked out over the park over the road. It had been snowing lots, so it was a great view. The room had a king bed, lots of room for sitting and a great ensuite. Downstairs is a restaurant but the nights that i stayed it didnt open, which was a shame as it has a good reputation, as a steak house. I would definatley stay here again when I return to do more research one day. It is walkable to most things in Clausthal, shops, restaurants and attractions. The breakfast available was also not bad.

Beds were not good, everything else just fine.
Reviewed By MrandMrsSomersStayed one week here in kamincabin number 56 and 57 ( friends stayed in the other cabin). Both cabins were decorated differently but same in size. The cabin was fine, the bedrooms were not though. They were too small, you could not even open the door properly. The beds are all singles, that you cannot push together because the door won't open at all anymore if you do. Beds are not very comfortable either. We had to put two matrasses on top of each other. That made it a bit more comfortable. Luckaly we were with just 2 adults in our cabin. It would be a bit small if there are 4 adults in the cabin. We did enjoy the living area and kitchen. Showerroom was ok. We had cold weather with a lot of snow ( end of april) so we used the fireplace a lot. The park is small, quiet and next to the lake. It is very close to Clausthal ( last houses of Clausthal are right next to the park) and roads take you into the national park quickly. Check in and out was fine, man at reception was very friendly. Area is beautiful and great for outdoor activity's.

Lovely room - very nice people
Reviewed By Lronn HWas a bit concerned about the informality of the booking (no email confirmation) but when we arrived the room was wonderful. Got the full breakfast - very good but no variety - the same every day (boiled eggs, meats/cheeses, rolls, cereal, coffee). One note it that the owner does not speak english. So be prepared for that..She is very nice and helpful, and the place was IMMACULATE>

Wonderful Getaway
Reviewed By Carmen ALovely little hotel/guest house tucked away near the woods and a beautiful big lake. The host is friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful - he recommended several walking trails to us, and places to see. The hotel is quite far from any established towns, and I'd recommend hiring a car and driving there (we took a bus and a taxi, which was affordable but not very convenient). Perfect for peace and quiet, gorgeous outdoors, easy walks and true Northern German charm. There is a restaurant on site, and the hotel serves breakfast every morning. The nearest town is Buntenbock (tiny town!), and then Clausthal-Zellerfeld. We had a wonderful, romantic long weekend here, and I'd return in a heartbeat. :-)

We are a small, family run hotel, in business since 1939. Clausthal-Zellerfeld is in the middle of the Harz mountains, a lovely litte green spot on the German map.

Reviewed By Robbert VVery pleasant stay as always in wolfs hotel. Stay over this family runned hotel each time when i stay i. Clausthal. The food and host are super. The hotel look like Nothing fancy. But just feels like home :)
