Reviewed By triviageekWe came to Sa Pa to escape the heat and craziness of Hanoi. We didn’t have high expectations for Megaview Homestay, but it exceeded our expectations. The location is very central to bars and restaurants. The owner and his wife are terrific. We had only booked two days and we stayed for 5! We stayed in a private room and the views were amazing (when the weather cooperated) so we can’t speak to how the dorms were. We loved the trekking activity that the hosts booked for us. Being able to hike around the rice paddies and into the remote villages was a highlight. The only negative thing we’d say is the steep slippery stairs to get up and down from the main square. I slipped while bringing our luggage down at 3:30am. After doing several hikes/trekking the stairs get harder each time you go into town.

Reviewed By BriannanilsAs it was quiet in sa Pa when I visited, they gave me a free room upgrade. My room was lovely and had everything I needed. Beautiful balcony with an amazing view. They made me breakfast in the morning as well. Only one of the staff members spoke English when I came, but that wasn't a problem as she was around most of the time. She and the other staff were very friendly. I would definitely stay here again. Good location too.

Clean and nice room
Reviewed By PartyloriThe room is big and if its not foggy u have an awesome view. Its a bit outside, u walk 10 minutes till the citycenter. There is a heatblanket in the bed, so its comfortable and warm. The staff helps booking trekkingtours, busses and everything else. We arrived in Sapa at 6 am and got straight to the hostel. When we asked if we can check in, the staff told us its not possible until 12:30 pm. But we saw that there was a room free. Sadly there seems to be no way to check in before 12:30pm.

Reviewed By Ong NThere are two main reason why I really want to go back this place. First, they offer fascinating facilities with good price, hot water is also very stable. The support and hospitality of staffs here is another reason, especially Ms. Linh and a boy who are always ready to bring beer or food to our room (level 3), he is quite shy but supportive. Perfect Homestay
Reviewed By Kjuh346We had the best time ever at Sapa Dao homestay. The family was very friendly, helpful and gave us great recommendations for the visiting spots around the area. We rented a room for 3 nights and the views were spectacular. Also the room was equipped with everything we needed. The food was very delicious too and the price very well. All in all we can recommend the Dao homestay to everybody who wants to stay at a vietnamese family and experience the real beauty of Sapa. Thank you and we will come back! :)

Adequate for a short stay
Reviewed By EdJSewStayed here with my girlfriend for a night. The room was very clean with a few free items such as a toothbrush and toothpaste. Sadly did not come with a towel but luckily we brought a spare of our own. Upon checkout, the hotel were kind enough to hold our bags for the day until our bus that evening and even let us have a (cold) shower to freshen up before we left.

Never book the bus ticket
Reviewed By freecdyNever book the bus ticket to Dien Bien Phu with “Sapa Hotel Travel” She (only woman speak english) sell ticket bus to Bien Dien Phu at 300.000 VND. But, only the one in the night is really a bus, if you want travel in the morning only have small bus. She lied to us, it was never a bus. The problem, there are 2 types: mini van and mini bus, make sure to ask in OTHER HOTEL what it is, because if you booking with “Sapa Travel Hotel” you will travel at mini van with many local people, and you as western foreigner will have the worst seat: BACKSEAT The price from Dien Bien Phu to Sapa in mini bus is 227.000 VND at 230.000 VND for the morning travel. Unfortunately Sapa dont have bus station, i think you always will pay more. Never book the ticket with “Sapa Travel Hotel”, because will go the worse mini van, the driver stop in the middle of road for people to pee in the bushes, but we were very close to the city. Also the driver is smoking the whole journey. Also i saw that local people pay 80.000 VND, although they down 50 km before.
