A Road Trip
Reviewed By 260ravintAn amazing place to go to if you want to stay for about 2 nights with a group of friends. Not is it only within walking distance to the Railway Station in Kandy, it is quite close to the KCC as well not to mention notable landmarks such as the Temple of the Tooth. The staff is friendly and service is superb, and the food and lodging is very well worth the reasonable price. Highly recommend if you want to hang out a few days with your friends.

Reviewed By pervoightI stayed at Sigiriya Prince Villa just on the other side of the street. Large villa with beautifull rooms and large bathrooms with hot water. Wonderfull porch in front of house, free water, coffe and tea and a very nice breakfast included in the price 5.000 rp

Reviewed By joakiml644If you want to stay at a place where the heart is in the right place and to get a warm family feeling - this is where you stay in Sigirya. Both cool and spotless clean! As we came when it was raining, we asked if it was possible to get some food and got cooked an amazing meal served family style. We can highly recommend Nolin family’s hostel, soon also with a brand new three house.

Il proprietario, molto gentile e premuroso, ci ha accolti con piacere offrendoci dell'ottimo tè e consigli pratici per le visite ai dintorni. Camere semplici, minimali e abbastanza pulite. Patio dove leggere e rilassarsi immersi totalmente nella foresta....beh, vale molto più della modica cifra per due stanze. Consigliatissimo per chi ama la natura.

Reviewed By Konstantin KWe spent there 3 nights and felt very well. Location: Budget hostel is outside Kandy city. Nevertheless the location is good. We had the room with balcony and enjoyed to watch the scenic landscape as well as the daily traffic jam in front of the house. A recommended restaurant is nearby (50 m), as well a medium supermarket and some smaller. Hard to find (when we have been there, there was no billboard. The Owner mentioned, to install one within the next days. TukTuk from Kandy City 250-350 Rupees. Local Bus 13 Rupees per Person (Bus to Aruppola, get out at Galkaduwa Junction; then walk 50 m) The very big room consists of two comfortable and large beds. Bathroom is very small but still okay. Hot shower, good water pressure. The owners family is super friendly and supportive. Regarding facilities: one plug socket, one hanger, chair on request. Very fair for the money we paid, but due to some circumstances we paid less than regular price. Unfortunately we have no idea about the regular price.

A big warm welcome everyone to Roy's! The people who love to stay here, come for some fantastic nature experiences, the breathtaking views from both Lion Rock and Pidurangala Rock and to see the beautiful lake only 100 metres via a rice field. We have dorms with A/C, Wi-Fi and hot showers all for a reasonable price but with the beautiful country views. We are very much at the heart of nature!

Reviewed By chrisHCAMWAn absolutely amazing host with the sole purpose of making your stay in Sigiriya as nice as possible. Whatever activities you want to do in Sigiriya, Roy will arrange it for you. Both the private rooms with queen beds and the dorm rooms with double beds are nicely situated between the garden, have aircon, clean and very comfortable beds and a private storage area with locker key. Every night the food is made at the hostel by the staff where the literal question was asked: what Sri Lankan food have you not had yet? We'll make it! The best hostel I have visited regarding friendliness, customer service and atmosphere. Do not go here for the party scene, go here to enjoy nature, enjoy the local food and people and do the local hikes. 10/10 Roy, everyone coming to Sigiraya will get my recommendation to stay at your hostel!

Fine for a Night
Reviewed By vanessamI8053NMMixed feelings on this one. I stayed for one night with my husband, and the room itself was the most basic of all our stays ( we had a private room with en suite bathroom). The bed was literally the worst ever, so creaky and not comfortable. The bathroom was a bit ick - I've never seen so many ants in my life! I realise it's a hot country, but in our 2 weeks I hadn't had that many bugs in a room. However, it did the job and was very good value when considering the price paid. It was super sociable which one expects in hostels but this was especially so. The cooking class made it easy to get talking to people and have a laugh, but most importantly you get a good meal at the end all included in the price. Breakfast was basic but at no extra cost. The pool area is a positive for a hostel, but again it's not somewhere I'd spend a lot of time with so many bugs and a few tired loungers. However, at night they threw on some disco lights which was so fun. Overall, this place is just fine.

Reviewed By Tom LBest place to stay in Kandy, without a doubt. It's right at the top of the mountain and the city view is great. The value for money is great, fabulous breakfast too, rooms and common area nice and tidy. But the service is where it's really top, more friendlier people you'll struggle to meet, nothing is too much trouble for them. It's out of the hustle of the city which is nice, but a tuktuk into the town for dinner or a stroll isn't very expensive and they hotel crew can arrange it for you. Book here for your Kandy stay, you won't regret it!
