Great beach and location

Rooms were nice and authentic, but the beach however is the main highlight. Matareva is underrated when it comes to the beach, I would say its up there with Lalomanu, Vavau and Siufaga Beach. Crystal clear, turquoise water and usually never crowded.

The places natural beauty is unsurpassed. The Fales were simple but great. It was nice to be able to isolate ourselves from civilisation. It is usually a bit or even never crowded. It was tropical paradise at its finest.

For the start of my stay

Reviewed By saronic

My arrival at Samoa scheduled for 5.30am and the official check-in at the planned hotel at 3pm, I decided to book a reasonably priced accomodation already for the night that had passed. My choice fell on the 'Talofa Inn', mainly due to various positive comments. There had been quite a correspondance regarding the transfer from the airport by shuttle service, but that didn't work, so I took a taxi for WST 60, which was not too bad. After a nice breakfast with plenty of fruit, served at the table, I was shown room No 4, which was quite big, but facing the main road, with quite a lot of traffic during the day, but not too bad during the night. The accomodation in a quite central location consists of only 6 rooms, all quite different. There was a bathroom with shower attached, but the washbasin was in the bedroom. There was enough storage space everywhere. It had a bar of soap and in the shower a liquid soap dispenser. Shampoo has to be taken along. When I arrived the lady (Tsafea) told me that checkout is at 10am, but when I had a look at the contract and at the hotels information leaflet, it definitely said 11am. The next day another lady (Leausa) was in charge and I was able to leave my luggage by the reception until a taxi took me to my next accomodation.

Very tidy & clean rooms however...

Our family (incl 3 adult kids, partners, and 5 grandchildren) stayed at Samoana 4 Nov to 20 Nov. The owner walked around the facility seemed grumpy most of the time, & not really acknowledging us, 2nd week into our stay, the bed broke, when a suitcase was placed on the bed. I was told that I had to pay $300 tala! This was policy anything broken etc customers were to pay. Was told to move rooms, due to some plumbing issue & we could move back, then see that they had another family move in the next day. Kids were in 3bedroom aprtment, no aircon in the living area just ceiling fans but 1 not working, made the living area still stuffy and hot. My Family paid just over $10k Tala, would have appreciated a more customer-friendly demeanor from management However The receptionist, housekeepers were all very friendly and accommodating. The pool was a godsend for us all during the hot days out and about. The cafe Black Pepper definitely worth trying out, great food & prices.

Amazing trip

Reviewed By Kimberly B

I stayed at the partner location - Lynn's for 2 weeks while visiting and working at the local hospital. Coming from the U.S. solo I was a bit intimidated with travelling this far by myself. My stay was excellent and I would definitely stay there again. The most valuable part of Lynn's was all of the guidance from the staff and most of all her son (Karl). He made sure every guest got to see as much of Samoa as they could and without Karl I would not have learned any of the history or seen many of the sights I was able to. He took us hiking, snorkling, waterfall jumping and lounging at the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. His tips to stay safe and get the most out of my two weeks were much appreciated. Lynn even took us to a beautiful Catholic church on Sunday (only if interested of course). Pick up and drop off at the airport by Karl was reliable. When the internet wasn't working Karl went out of his way to let me use his hotspot. The food was wonderful, especially the pancakes (best I've ever had) and there is a shop next door and multiple good restaurants (check out Scalini's) within walking distance. There was an affordable gym within walking distance with spin bikes looking at the ocean and mountains. Have found myself wanting to back to Samoa very frequently since returning to the U.S.

The concept of this B&B is simple, affordable and definitely very homely. It really didn't bother us that her family stayed below, as we were very well looked after. The location is ideal, quiet and very relaxing. Thank you Julia and we will definitely recommend you to our friends and family

Very poor customer service

Reviewed By yazzah10

Recently had a bad experience with poor customer service from a Sarona at this accommodation where I tried to book a room to stay 6 nights from 18/07 - 24/07. I was able to get advice on 11/07 that a room would be available during the dates I was seeking and I was asked if I wanted to block those dates off for the room, I agreed to it and sent through paperwork with payment details on 11/07 No acknowledgment was received that what I sent through had been received or an invoice of the price of the room provided. I sent another email on 15/07 asking for an update of the booking I made, no response. I called the hotel from NZ and was asked to try back again because Sarona was out and I asked if I could get an acknowledgement about my booking I called the hotel later after I finished work. To my surprise, I was advised that my booking had been cancelled by Sarona. I asked why I never received any communication but the staff were unable to advise why. Left with no booking from this hotel, I had to find alternative accommodation, luckily enough Samoana Boutique on Moataa, where I have stayed previously and excellent I might add were accommodating. Only after I emailed Sarona to advise my disappointment that I received an email with an apology.
