Our GuestHouse Mezcalero is located in the Dresden Neustadt in the center of Dresden. The historic center is easily reached on foot or by tram. There is a tram stop just 100 meters away. We offer rooms in different categories. Single and double rooms with shared shower or ensuite, apartments with kitchenette and TV as well as 4-6 bed rooms for families and smaller groups. Our delicious breakfast buffet can be booked on the spot. In our yard there is a limited number of parking spaces available and our summer garden invites you to relax. Just have a rest at our place and feel at least a little bit like being at home.

Reviewed By Thomas JExcellent staff, nice, large spotless rooms, with a mexican theme. You do have to share the bathroom with one other room, but I never saw that as i real problem. Stayed there for three night, and will return next time I visit Dresden. For 7,5 Euro you can have a fine breakfast buffet, I did that one of the days.

Hidden provincial gem
Reviewed By ashevcLocated deeply in rural area and is little known. To the hotel complex belong several buildings which leave mixed impression. Guest accommodation, event rooms and restaurant are not under one roof. - The historical house, which walls are over 11 centuries old, is used for events. It is truly a hidden gem with 5* and absolutely worth visiting. It is lovingly renovated and has imposing interiors - fantastic Knight Hall, beautiful central wooden staircase, chimneys - and posses special romantic flavor, particularly in evening light. Well-kept garden with pond complement the ensemble. - Guest rooms are located in another contemporary building and contrast with Castle-style. This part is rather 3*: clean but small rooms with narrow bathroom, old fitting carpets (a problem for allergy suffers), worn-out furniture, no tee facilities. - The restaurant is pretty mediocre. Food without soul. The hotel also has wellness areas with sauna and a big sport hall. The place is well suitable for events,and seminars or for a short stay. Big disadvantage - extremely poor connection with public transportation, even taxi is a problem. It's also a pity that historical facts about the Castle are not well presented...

Very good experience, particularly with river view

We stayed there during a week-long Malerweg hiking trip – on our first night and on our last three nights in the area, i.e. four nights in total. The room we had on our first night did not overlook the river. The room was fine, but we would have like the Elb view. So we asked for this for our second stay a few days later – which they promised us. The first room (room 101 – no river view) was quite OK, quite spacious, window on to a terrace. The bathroom was also fine. But our second room (room 314) a few days later was far better – this had a gorgeous view on the river and a French balcony so we could open it up wide and really enjoy the view. This room was bigger and better than the first one, and the bathroom was a lot bigger too – really big in fact. Having this room for our three nights in a row made our stay really pleasant. The Elbhotel has a very practical location in Bad Schandau, right on the ferry and next to a backery and supermarket (just across the road from the small hotel car park). The public parking (Elbkai) is right in front of the hotel. The staff was really friendly, both in the reception and in the restaurant. We had dinner there on the first night – nothing spectacular but OK. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Elbhotel, but particularly so with the river view room.

The Villa is central in a quiet and calm side street and only a few meters away from the Elbe. Cause of our central Position, you reach the historic center of Dresden with all places of interests like the Frauenkirche, the Semperoper, the Zwinger and the picture gallery within a few minutes with the tram. Take a walk on the bicycle path on the Elbe with a great view to the historic center or a romantic bicycle tour in the Elbtal. You can enjoy the evening in the well-known Waldschloesschen-Brauerei, which is 2 minutes away from our Villa or in one of the 300 bars and Restaurants in the trendy district “Neustadt”, which is just about 10 minutes by foot.

Reviewed By maywillThe 3-night stay at this facility put a dent on our otherwise wonderful visit to Dresden. We chose this hotel based on great reviews and location (we were on a road trip and wanted to avoid a congested area), and confirmed their Standard Double room, the only type available at the time. We were surprised to learn that our room is a small and plain room with low ceiling and tiny windows that looked like and attic, quite different from the photos and descriptions from their listing. The room got so hot, we had to run air conditioning almost continuously, which is rather unusual in Germany. Furthermore they added 2% extra to the room charge because we did not pay in cash nor via EC Card.

Reviewed By Barry22260This is a very atmospheric place to stay. We were lucky in that we were in the Hexenhaus itself, although they have a number of other properties. If you are in one of these you still have to go to the main property for breakfast. Our rooms were excellent with a sitting room downstairs and the bedroom above. Clean and comfortable, on a note of caution, the shower base is very high from the floor, making for a large step down. The food, however, is superb and I would recommend dining in. A marvellous place and I hope to return one day.

Die Lage ist ideal für Wanderausflüge in den Nationalpark. The rooms are very cosy, clean and warm and the little kitchenette has everything you need for cooking your own meals. The location is perfect for hiking trips into the national park.

Reviewed By 154gaileLOVED this hotel. It was handy to be slightly out of the centre as this included free parking & it felt relaxing & quiet. The hotel is set inside a converted wine cellar, we read this in a previous review & it would be a great selling point to list this unusual feature on the hotels website. The staff were 5 star, they went above & beyond to help. The cleanliness of the room was outstanding and the decor very modern & far outweighed what we had expected. Very cheap too, we would highly recommend, thank you. (Very nice Greek restaurant close by too)

Beautiful surroundings, perfect for walking, biking, running or cycling in the summer season and skiing during winter. Wonderful local atmosphere and quality quisine based on regional ingredients, impeccable service on all levels!
