Peaceful and relaxing
Reviewed By alanjcgThe most peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Mr Gomez is at the hotel for most of the day and treats all guests as important to him personally. The staff are always polite, happy and helpful. He will arrange any trips for whatever length of time for you with a safe driver and comfortable car. The hotel has a superbly maintained garden and pool and the room was comfortable and spacious. I stayed during a difficult time for the lovely country of Sri Lanka due to the economic crisis but Gomez Place offered an oasis of calm for those of us fortunate enough to be staying there. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport which was perfect.

Reviewed By Jirka_KotekNice place to stay after arrival or before departure. Only 30min from the airport. Room clean, breakfast good and staff friendly. Nice pool is available and also a beach access, although the sea is pretty wild. Really nothing to complain about.

Charming and authentic
Reviewed By vie_42_vieIt was my second stay at the Binnacle, I wanted to spend more time in Negombo. The Binnacle is ideal for this. Negombo is often placed at the beginning or end of a trip to Sri Lanka because of its proximity to CMB airport. That was not enough for me. The day at the Binnacle starts with an opulent fruit plate that makes the sun rise. The breakfast also offers everything else the heart desires. My favourite was the spicy omelette. The rooms are spacious and of course with AC (AC is a must in Sri Lanka!). The staff is helpful and smiling, but still authentic. Binnacle is a small hotel just to my taste! Thank you Chiran and your lovely crew for your hospitality! I/we will be back!

Reviewed By Helen DWe had a brilliant stay and were so well looked after by Cristi and the team, the room was lovely and the gardens were beautiful with perfect sunsets. Had lovely breakfasts and complimentary afternoon tea. It was very handy we had a driver pick us up from the airport from here in the early hours. Had a nice boat trip on the lagoon and walked down the Dutch canals in Negombo. Lots of good restaurants and bars on the high street especially Mr Crab and Jude restaurants. Would highly recommend The Icebear Guesthouse and would stay again

Reviewed By debudpgthe B&B is tucked away in a narrow road but once you hit the property you are at awe..such beautiful house with lovely garden and above all the owner Stanley is a gem of a person who loves talking to guests. Just 25 minute to the airport just a fine place to get your flight or crash into it after a long haul flight. Restaurants are nearby and the property serves breakfast only. All in all a good property while the location is a bit of a put off

What a great place with lovely staff
Reviewed By 752robmWe stumbled across Dions guest house after arriving back in Negombo and finding our original hotel had had to close due to two customers testing positive for covid. What a lovely it is and we were so happy to stay there for the nights. The staff are fabulous, making you feel at home from the moment you arrive and the grounds and hotel is very well maintained, clean and well designed from the rooms to the communal gardens. A big thank you to Russel for all his help and advice. I can’t recommend the place highly enough and would definitely come back.

Reviewed By lorrepeterPerfect room, clean. All is new in our room. Calm, spacious. Not in the center but the rest of the city is near with a tucktuck (200-300 roupies, 1-1,5 euros !!, 100 roupies for 1 km, but the real price is 50rps/km, we are tourists ;-)...). Just the breakfast too simple.

Breakfast scam
Reviewed By paulop1First of all I would like to say that everyone that works there are very friendly and the room was ok. But I was surprised by the breakfast prices, which turned out to be the most expensive meal I had during my whole stay in Sri Lanka :( And it was not even that good. How is it possible that the breakfast costs more than staying at the hotel for two nights? Having to pay in US Dollars so is seems cheaper kinda backfired. I definitely felt deceived by the hotel.
