Hotel Casablanca

HOTEL CASABLANCA Hotel Casablanca is located in the heart of the Centre of Montevideo. Ideal touristic location proximate to many local attractions. It is located a few blocks from the Old City neighbourhood and only one block from our main avenue, Avenida 18 de Julio. Many touristic attractions await you just a few minutes from the hotel. The hotel is strategically located in an area which has public and private transportation services to get to all over the city. Also situated about 10-minute car ride from the main bus terminal of Montevideo, being Terminal Tres Cruces, only 2,5 km from the Port of Montevideo and 20 km from the Airport of Montevideo. It was built as a residence in the year 1900 to a man of Moroccan origin born in the city of Casablanca, being the building style still characterised by fine finishes of those years. The building was purchased and redeveloped as a hotel by a couple of Spanish who operated the hotel for more than 30 years. Currently and since 37 years ago it is operated by another Spanish family whose efforts are focused on providing a warm and pleasant stay to every guest.

Friendly Budget Hotel

Reviewed By Dreamer D

This is a favorite budget hotel. It has a nice little eating area where guests can enjoy take out meals from many sources in the neighborhood. Some rooms face the street and get too much noise. And there are quieter interior rooms. Staff members are efficient and helpful. I plan to stay here again and enjoy the great downtown location. For people who have difficulty with stairs this is not the place.

Pizzorno Lodge & Wine

Perfect stay with food and wine at the Pizzorno vineyards

Reviewed By profilerober

What a beautiful place to spend a day and night outside of Canelones. Pizzorno is a beautiful winery in Uruguay. My husband and I booked an evening with wine tasting, lunch, light dinner, tour and breakfast. Everything was stellar start to finish We were greeted when we arrived by name and ushered into the lovely restaurant in the middle of the Pizzorno vineyard. To start, we were treated to a three course lunch. It was very nice to be able to choose from options and wine pairings with each course, rather than just being served the same thing. We were also given a glass of Sauvignon Blanc as soon as we were seated, so the lunch included four wines. The food was wonderful, as were the wines. Uruguay is known for its tannat grape varietal, and we certainly enjoyed trying the tannat during lunch. After lunch we were shown to our guest room in the posada next door. The room was elegant, clean and modern with a cute outdoor patio area overlooking the vineyard. We then met back up with a small group to take a short tour of the winery. Our guide, Joachim, also guided our lunch tasting. I really enjoyed tasting the wine before taking the tour. This is different than other wine experiences that I have had. After the tour we retreated to our private terrace to enjoy a bit more wine and watch the sunset. Our experience included a bottle of wine with dinner, but there were also several Pizzorno wines for purchase in the room. So, we opted to try the tannat reserve wine before dinner. The very gracious host of the property came to our room to show us to a wide assortment of delights that they had prepared for us for dinner. The restaurant was not open for dinner, so they provided us with a large array of tapas including fresh bread and desert so we could eat whenever we chose to. The posada had a shared kitchen area and we opted to leave the food in the fridge until we were ready for dinner, as we were full from lunch for hours. There was also a common area with a fireplace, books and several seating areas. However, it was a bit chilly because we were traveling in May, so we opted to eat in our room. Breakfast the next morning was simple, but delightful. And, the small cheese biscuits they served were so good that I would’ve bought a basket of them had they been for sale. We truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend choosing one of their unique experiences. If we return to Uruguay, we will definitely be back.

Beautiful Montevideo Getaway

Reviewed By HudsonAndEmily

My husband and I absolutely loved our time at La Baguala! It's such a beautiful getaway from downtown Montevideo. The staff was wonderful and it was a very relaxing stay. In addition to taking in La Baguala’s beautiful coastal views, we spent the day horseback riding, pool lounging, and relaxing at the spa. We sat on the property’s back porch, feeling the ocean breeze and watching the bright-green parakeets swooping through the trees. It seems like we were transported to a distant rural get-away along the coast, but in reality we were less than a half hour away from Montevideo. We'd highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity!

A luxury B&B paying tribute to heritage and design

Reviewed By AdventureDiva

Located in Centro, this luxury B&B pays respect to Montevideo's turn of the century period. Roberto preserved this spirit during his restoration of what CR has become. The vibrant colors and collection of vintage antiques made me feel transported back to a civilized era. During the time before my arrival, Roberto responded to all my email inquiries in a timely manner and was proud sharing with me what Uruguay had to offer. I had Room #3 and was very pleased with the immaculate and clean space. Complimentary breakfast was tasty and plentiful. A special treat was freshly squeezed orange juice...haven't had that in a very long time. Adelina was on site when I stayed here and was a delightful host. A special shout out goes her way for making my stay enjoyable. You get a great value here compared to other properties in the city. I booked direct with CR so a business relationship could be started in getting up to the minute info on what's happening in the city and countryside. Yes, Casa Roberto was truly my home away from home!

Good but not fancy

Reviewed By Tatiane D

If you're not looking for fancy stuff, this is for you. People are nice, staff is friendly and helpful. If you're going to Montevideo looking for rest, then this place is not for you. Very well located, near a good mall with a nice supermarket and exchange house, but rooms and bathrooms are not very clean, which is a shame.
