The owner gave us some great advice for further travel and the cleaning lady (don't know the name) was sooo nice we even managedvto get a candle from her for our dinner outside on the terrace.

Apart hotel with independent apartments for 2, 4 or 5 persons, all decorated differently with tasteful details that you will surely appreciate. We are located on the Atlantic coast, just a block away from the beautiful and wild beach of Punta Colorada, in a quiet area, but at the same time very close from the most important towns of Uruguay. We are just a 5 minute car ride away from Piriapolis, 20 minutes from Punta del Este and only an hour and a half from Montevideo. Come relax and enjoy Uruguay Natural.

Reviewed By Juan57Nice room price was as expected for Punta del Este.Best resort in the southern cone but worst hotel prices, as may happen in other resorts. Very cool room on to the street 32 degrees outside but very cool , I guess it was still dragging the winter effect. Bathroom was ok and has a 99%( no shuko) universal socket for all electric plugs, never seen that before. Close to everything in La barra walking distance from beach for those on foot. The bed could of been better nice size but hard in the middle. The only thing really disliked was ben charged in advance, for 2 o 3 runa ways you cant treat everyone as crooks. That said I asked for an extra hour to check out and got it.The reception guy was very nice. BTW remember La Barra is 20 minutes ( ni traffic) away from Punta del Este

Hasta le guardó a mi padre en su casa el pescado que había pescado ese día en la playa… Volveremos seguro, para que nos cuente que es de su vida y para probar de nuevo ese espectacular desayuno!!! La Balsa Lodge está ubicada sobre el restaurante con el mismo nombre en el km 191 de la ruta 10 en la laguna Garzón. Y cuenta con 3 habitaciones con el confort necesario para una estadía inolvidable. Rodeada de naturaleza perteneciente a un área protegida, que la hace aún más exuberante y con vistas a la laguna y el mar realmente mágicas Se encuentra ubicada a 50 metros de cada costa. A 500mts del puente circular y a 7 kilómetros de José Ignacio Food & Relax.

Reviewed By soluble(A double post from the restaurant, will delete the other when I figure out how?) OK so we all can see that the food is phenomenal -- Fernando is a culinary master and an artist. I love that everything is fresh and local, including eggs. The building itself is recycled from old materials, very eco-friendly. Entire staff is wonderful, went above and beyond in every possible way. Everyone is effortlessly great at their jobs, and it felt like we were being pampered by family or life-long friends, not by servants. We also stayed in one of three rooms offered at this B&B, above the restaurant, so we got to eat breakfast every morning for 4 days. The breakfast was continental + request. All the different fresh types of jams, butters, baked goods like even a carrot loaf and waffles, delicious eggs, fresh fruit including juice, all so yummy. A special dinner was prepared the last night just for us and the other couple in the B&B upstairs. Fernando also packed us lunches, like hot sandwiches for day trips we took exploring the area. They paid attention to what we liked and ordered, and had it ready for us, or recommended similar items the next day, including wine and restaurant recommendations in Jose Ignacio. Area is remote so you MUST rent a car. If you stay at the B&B you can spend the whole day without seeing any other tourists.

Reviewed By travel-el-monde- It a a small 4 room hotel. - The location was right across the dunes from Chihuahua beach. - Need a car to access it. It was remote and very quiet. - The room was very clean with a nice bed and Direct TV. - There are a lot of bugs. Screened windows would be ideal. - There was only one power outlet in the entire room. - There was a kettle but no mugs or spoons so it was useless. - The path up to the rooms needs to be finished. It is not easy to get up. - The owner has a dog that is caged and likely scary for some guests. He goes nuts everytime you enter or leave the property. - Breakfast is $15 USD.

A great boutique hotel
Reviewed By travelofleoA great little place - part bookshop, cafe and boutique hotel. The owner and staff were very helpful. A pleasant 10-15 minute walk from the beach. Tastefully built property, made from locally sourced materials makes for an authentic feel. The cafe doubles as a nice place for a drink in the evening too, especially with the outside terrace. If you want to stay somewhere a little more unique than a standalone hotel, you should look no further!
