Reviewed By NashboroguyThe company I was working for put is into this hotel for over a month. Overall, the hotel is as clean as Chinese can be. The staff was wonderful, although they seldom speak English. Since I am living in China, that is to be expected...Ha ha. On a more serious note, the hotel really needs to consider their A/C issues. This hotel has a central A/C system. To keep their electric bills low, they turn off their A/C in the hotel from noon to 5 PM. This is the heat of the day in South China. This is ridiculous thinking. On top of that, my room (along with some of my co-workers at the hotel) had a serious mold and mildew problem in the duct work of the A/C. In the middle of the night, I am often awakened by severe coughing fits due to the mold and mildew getting into my lungs. The hotel needs to hire a professional cleaning company to clean their A/C ducts. Someone will get seriously hurt, if this is not taken care of. I had to keep my A/C turned off and sleep with the window open to protect my lungs. Oh, pay no attention to all the water bugs and roaches that you will find around your room. They are only visiting like you....Ha Ha. My recommendation, find other accommodations. There are plenty of inexpensive, better hotels in this city.

Reviewed By ConniefromHKConvenient. Near walking street. However very dirty that I found a lot of buds in the room. And the bed sheets are just not clean. Yes wifi but I just want it for wtsapp and facebook; wtsapp is ok but you know facebook is not working in China.

Another pleasant enouth stay, but eventually, due to issues
Reviewed By SzsteveCStayed here for two periods during our recent visit. I like this place due to its ideal location and it's ease of getting everywhere. It is reasonably priced and the rooms are reasonable... First visit. Arrived to find that the room we had booked WEEKS previously wasn't available. The person in the room needed to stay an extra night but refused to change room so all of a sudden it became our problem! So our family room booked became a large room with one large bed and a "put-me-up" bed! Stayed there the 4 nights we were there as couldn't be bothered to move all the luggage! Second visit. Room was available but spent the first night melting as the air con wasn't working. Spoke about it to reception the following morning who said they would check it out and then show us how to use the air con controls! Durr..... I know how to use air con! When back in the hotel they told us it was indeed broken and we could either move room or wait for the engineer to fix the air con, but they didn't know when he would be coming.... we opted to move. Unfortunately there was no room of the same standard available and so we opted to take two single rooms instead (which we checked out and tested the air con before accepting) although we had to pay the price difference, not even any discount as we were moving due to them and their hotel defects. Whilst I do like this hotel and it's location, and it's staff who I think are great, I think we will be looking for a different hotel for our next stay in Shekou as we seem now to have issues on every visit. Rating would have been much lower but for the staff who did the best they could.

Reviewed By tsz0218The room is clean and the size is decent, not too small. The bathroom is very clean and it looks new. Air Conditioner is very good too because the room gets cold quite fast. The price of the hotel room is very good and it's definitely worth the value.

Location is excellent
Reviewed By avi98tanNear to eateries and restaurants within walking distance. Food is fresh and delicious . No need to ask the Chef not to add too much salt or cook with less oil. Near the hotel is a massage place which is clean with good packages. After a tired day, so wonderful to soak in a tub of ginger and enjoy the foot reflexology. This hotel was recommended by Chen Sifu , our driver cum guide . He can be contacted at 15918911263 via we chat . Can write to him in English, he will reply in Mandarin. He is flexible and allow changes to the itinerary.

Value for money
Reviewed By Mark HI must preface my 4 star rating that is is also based on the price per night. For the cheap price you pay for a room here it is a good value and located right by the subway for for that it gets top marks. It is reasonably clean, but this is a no frills hotel (not really a motel). If I were paying $150 a night, this would be a one star, but I paid less than $50 a night and it included breakfast. The fact that McDonald's was right next door was a plus as I like my coffee and they have North American coffee there (the hotel coffee was awful). The breakfast, however, was a decent Chinese spread. The other two points are that the beds are hard and the carpets are not the cleanest. The cleaning staff were very friendly though. Would I stay there again? Likely as the price point for the necessary comforts and cleanliness makes it a great value. Best for short stays.

Large, spartan room with poor breakfast
Reviewed By Eurasiatraveller2014This hotel is located opposite the sea and beach about a 40-minute drive from the Gongbei border and a 15-minute drove from Tangjiawan train station and a bit further from Zhuhai North Station. The area where the hotel is located has no facilities so that you might need to order in-room dining which is quite cheap. My room faced the sea and wasarge, but Spartan with a laminated wooden-patterned floor with kitschy green walls covered with pink leaves and black-coloured birds. Above the bed, there was wallpaper displaying a rustic image. The room was equipped with a desktop and chair, kettle, mugs, tea/coffee sachets, drinking water and tissues. There was also table with a red armchair, 2 bedside tables with a telephone plus a wardrobe. There were beige curtains on the windows and a TV on the wall. The bathroom contained a large shower area with towels that are not fluffy. Shower gel, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste and combs are provided. The bathroom has filed walls and a laminated floor. The breakfast served on the 1st floor was rather disappointing since the fruit was quite hard so that it was probably old and some of the cakes were minute. Also, the choice of Chinese dishes were somewhat limited compared with a lot of other Chinese hotels and the fruit juices were watered down. This hotel is functional enough and the beds were comfortable. Noise levels could be a problem if noisy guests stayed there as you could hear people talking in the corridor and furniture being moved above your room. This hotel is fine for a short stay, but due to its bad breakfast, I am limiting my score.
