Auchrannie Resort

At the heart of the beautiful isle of Arran lies the multi-award winning, family owned Auchrannie Resort. Auchrannie now consists of two four star hotels; the romantic and relaxing ‘House Hotel’ catering for couples and those wanting a more intimate experience whilst the contemporary ‘Spa Resort’ is popular with families and those prefer a more modern feel to their surroundings. In addition, the resort features 30 five-star self-catering lodges (sleeping up to 8 in total luxury and therefore perfect for the extended family), 3 outstanding, award winning restaurants and bars, 2 leisure centres both with pools, destination spa featuring treatments by ESPA and Ishga and an outdoor adventure centre. Arran is Scotland’s most accessible islands, often referred to as "Scotland in Miniature” due to the dramatic contrast between the hills and mountains in the north, and sweeping moorlands on the south of the island. A short 55 minute ferry journey off the Ayrshire coast, Arran is easily reachable by those arriving into any of central Scotland’s main airports as well as those travelling by car, train and coach. Whilst many tourists arrive on the island simply to kick back and relax, the island is packed with attractions and sights for visitors of all ages.

Quiet getaway

Reviewed By Brian7392

It's been a few years since we were last here and the Covid screens were up in the restaurant in light of the rules in play. The hotel was very quiet which seemed rather strange as just before Christmas. Nevertheless we were able to enjoy our stay and had the pool almost to ourselves. The room was clean and comfortable and food was fine.

Stylish refurbishment

Reviewed By eddi10c

Hotel was overdue a refurbishment....now now and very worthwhile. Hotel public areas and bedrooms are very stylish and comfortable. Staff are helpful and professional. Dining options may have been dumbed down - restaurant and bar have been 'merged'. Our visit was quieter than previous visits and benefitted from that....allowed us comfortable time in the bar with a cocktail! The executive lounge has been closed and relocated to the old restaurant....the poor choice of wine and beer remain unchanged unfortunately.

Fantastic Young Family Break

Reviewed By kegaline1

We stayed here for 2 nights - myself, my partner, our young baby and our 3.5 year old - and we had the best time. We stayed in a family room in the main hotel that had a separate space for bunk beds which our 3 year old loved. There were so many activities. The massive play area with the fort, bouncy pillows, maze and crazy golf was fab. It’s a bit of a walk but an easy walk and buggy friendly. The food in the Italian restaurant that we ate in both nights was great, the kids menu was a wee bit limited though. The breakfast buffet had a huge selection. Check out was at 11am so it wasn’t too much of a rush to get out. The staff were all really friendly and attentive. The whole stay was summaries by our 3 year old who said “I just loved all of it”

Relaxing and fantastic base for travelling

We booked this hotel last minute. An excellent choice if you wish to unwind in a picturesque and tranquil setting. Early morning awakening in the outdoor jacuzzi and sauna, followed by tasty breakfast before setting off to discover the wonders of the Scottish Highlands. We followed the hotel online guide for Glen Etive (stunning and worth the drive) and went onto Port Appin for dinner before coming back to the hotel. Thanks for the staff for suggesting another evening drive to Tarbert - quaint harbour village. Helpful staff accommodating if you have a halal diet, good suggestions for local seafood restaurants. Nice bedroom, quiet and good range of teas etc ( came in useful for filling our flask in preparation for Loch Etive picnic). Hoping to return again next June. Long days and evenings enjoying the amazing scenery.

On checking out today the Receptionist even carried our case down the outside steps for us Many Thanks one and all! Great location from Bus Station about 5 minutes and Princess Street in easy reach too. We took a bus to Oceans Terminal yesterday as we had never been to Leith really enjoyed our time in Edinburgh There is also a Tesco Express just next to hotel and plenty of restaurants and pubs across in the Omni Centre.

Don't bother

Quiet and clean. Okay, I'm out of good things to say. Room was stark and cheaply furnished. No water pressure in shower. But worst of all was the food. 3 menus with some questionable choices in combination. Finally settled on sharing a hand crafted wood fired pizza. Frozen and not even completely hot. Breakfast was same, pre-pepared foods and sludge filled coffee. I swear it was instant

Absolutely stunning hotel on it's only island. We stayed in a spa suite just a short walk from the main hotel. It consisted of bedroom, huge bathroom, walk in dressing room, lounge, conservatory, private hot tub and loungers in garden. Absolutely spotless, so thank you to the housekeepers. Staff in the hotel and spa are wonderful, friendly and provide great service. Food is exquisite along with lovely cocktails. Spa facilities are wonderful as well along with relaxing treatment rooms. Great for a couple's retreat or to go for a girly spa day. Would love to revisit some time

Dated , old, tired and not value for money

Reviewed By NazPinner

This is only two star because of the staff who were brilliant . If it wasn’t for this I would have given it zero. We were a family of 7 and had booked three rooms. We had rooms all on the ground floor. The rooms were dated , tired, smelled and were not cleaned properly, one of the Tom’s had a leaking toilet every time you flushed. Whilst we reported this, nothing was done to rectify the situation. If your looking for a nice place to stay with clean facilities don’t choose this hotel. The food pricey for the quality you receive. For the price they charge per room I would have expected better but this clearly disappointed .

good value hotel in good location in Pitlochry. All of the staff are friendly and helpful...special thank you to 'big' Karen for he warm welcome! Breakfasts are cooked fresh to order and are excellent, rooms clean and spacious. Only downisde is that this hotel used to have a steak restaurant which served excellent evening meals-sadly post pandemic, and I fully understand the reaons why, this is not availble now. Hopefully things improve in the future so that this facility can be reopened-fingers crossed. Other than that minor issue, we had an excellent 2 night stay...would we return...yes!
