Tattershall is a village and civil parish in the East Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is situated on the A153 Horncastle to Sleaford road, 1 mile (1.6 km) east from the point where that road crosses the River Witham. At its eastern end, Tattershall adjoins the village of Coningsby, with the two being separated by the River Bain. In the same parish is the hamlet of Tattershall Thorpe.

The centre was formerly part of No.1 Communal Site, RAF Woodhall Spa, and was Built in 1940 with a planned life span of only 10 years!. The site included the Officers and Sergeants Messes, Airmen's Dining Halls and the NAAFI building, together with Ration Store, Latrines and Ablution Block. Only the Airmens's Dining Halls, the NAAFI, Ablution Block and Ration Store are within the Centre's boundary The Thorpe Camp Preservation Group established the Visitor Centre in 1988 to commemorate those Airmen who flew from the airfield in World War II. 97, 619, 617 (Dambusters) and 627 Squadrons were based at RAF Woodhall Spa.

What a beautiful place! The Camp is well laid out and brilliantly maintained. The displays and Exhibitions are perfect for such a place, and the staff (all volunteers) were so helpful. Tattershall Farm Park changed hands on 15th March 2015. The new owners love the outdoors, children (they have 2 young children of their own), animals and tasty food, and this has inspired them to buy Tattershall Farm Park. Their vision is to own and run a business that makes them proud. One where their visitors want to come back time and time again. Feedback on Trip Advisor has been extremely helpful, allowing the new owners to understand what visitors like and don't like about the current offering. The negative feedback has focussed attention on the areas most in need of improvement. Changes already made - Play Barn now heated, damaged equipment repaired, children's chill out area added to cafe, cafe redecorated, new menu launched sourcing fresh, local and tasty ingredients and 'Cuddles Corner' an area where children can handle small animals Changes in progress - During April the number and variety of animals at the attraction is increasing, and these will be housed on grass in large pens with field shelters (expected completion mid April 2015). Changes that we'd like to make, but may take a little while longer include improvements to the road. Whilst 70% of the road was upgraded last summer, parts of the road are still a little bumpier than we would like!

We first came to visit the farm about 3 years ago and have been doing visits ever since. It had developed over the time for the good. All the staff put so much into every part of the farm. Food good, friendly staff throughout. Would 100% advise people to visit here. Thank you Tattershall farm park.

Tattershall Castle proudly rises from the flat Lincolnshire fens; a survivor of conflict, decay and restoration. Built of red brick in an era of stone, this fortified manor is one of the earliest and finest surviving examples of English medieval brickwork. A past home to Lords, ladies, soldiers and cows, the castle was built by the Treasurer of England, Lord Ralph Cromwell in the 1440s and saved for the nation by Lord Curzon of Kedleston in 1911. Take the winding staircase, wander through vast echoing chambers and walk out onto the battlements revealing the beauty of the Lincolnshire countryside. Eating and Shopping: Guardhouse shop selling hot and cold drinks, wrapped cakes, sandwiches, crisps, ice-cream, gifts and souvenirs. Picnics welcome. Making the most of your day: Free audio guides for children and adults. Events throughout the year, including Easter Egg fun, medieval re-enactments, open-air theatre and Christmas market. Accessibility: Site contains loose gravel paths (difficult for manual wheelchairs) and uneven grassy surfaces. Wheelchair access to the ground floor only. Access to the rest of the castle via a spiral staircase (149 steps) and steps to the basement. Dogs: Welcome on leads in the grounds only.

Visited the Christmas fair when we were out walking one day. We saw all the craft exhibits in about twenty minutes, but obviously these are not usually there.
The castle itself is impressive, and on several floors so be warned there are many steps to climb and come down. They are stone and triangular and a few people found they didn’t like them, especially when having to pass other people. No good for disabled or older people.
Each floor is pretty much the same, with one big room and several smaller rooms branching off. Some history boards are there to read. The real gem is the top floor where you can see Lincoln, Boston and other steeples on a good day.
I have pictures but Trip advisor is not picking them up.
You can get around it in an hour and as this normally costs about £7 each to get in I don’t think I would bother, but national trust members etc... get free / discounted entrance and then more viable.

We visited this church while on our way to the castle. There is parking but you have to spot the turning as it can be easily missed. We were welcomed at the door by a gentleman who was just starting a talk on the Tattershall Bats that roost in the church. Really interesting especially about the door they are renovating that will still have a bat door.
We had a walk around inside and had an excellent cup of tea and a slice of home made cake at a very reasonable price. Excellent facilities and somewhere we will definitely visit again. Free but donations are welcomed. Lovely small gift shop area too.

We visited this holiday park in late December, two families with young children and the park, it's facilities and staff were all top notch... there's not a lot to do when it's winter, but we made use of the indoor pool and other activities which meant that we didn't need to stray too far from the site at all.
You can also walk to the nearby castle and then onto Tattershall itself which was a nice afternoon, with a real old school pub in the village which was brilliant!
I would highly recommend this park to anyone

We were staying at the resort here and just had to visit Just Wake. My daughter did 1 session on the Aqua Park and had so much fun! We then noticed they had a kids club..what a bargain that was - 15GBP for 2hours - this included wet suits, helmets and life jackets - as well as having a go at kayaking, paddle boarding AND wake boarding! Needless to say, she loved it so much, she did a further 3 kids clubs and 2 private wake boarding sessions! Fabulous value for money and even better, the participants thoroughly enjoyed every second.......would love to live closer to come more often!!
Just to add - all the staff were fabulous too! :)

Moon Lake Fishery was opened in 1997 and offers a great days sport and the chance to relax and enjoy a day fishing in beautiful surroundings. There are 7 lakes in totalMoon Lake is the most established lake on the complex. A circular lake surrounded by mature trees with pegs numbered 1-25. A mixed stock lake it has Carp in excess of 25lb, Bream, Tench, Barble, Chub, Ide Roach and Rudd. Moat Lake is a canal type lake with 30 well spaced pegs. It has the same species as Moon Lake. Carp are stocked up to 15lb+. Marsh Lake is again a large canal lake with 32 well spaced pegs. Although this is mixed stocking it is predominately stocked with carp up to 16lb+ Manor Lake a large lake with 26 pegs it has four central Islands that provide a great feature. Mainly carp in here up to 16+. Meadow Lake is a canal lake with 17 pegs, easy access from the car park this popular carp lake is ideal for smaller angling club matches. This lake is currently undergoing enhancement. Mere Lake a round lake with 20 pegs, this lake opened in 2013 and is stocked with Carp up to 14lb£7 or £6 concessions

Stumbled across this place by accident. Fished moon lake Saturday and Sunday.
Very well kept lake. No litter, roomy and clear pegs. Plenty of parking and don't have to walk too far to the pegs.
Fantastic condition of fish. Caught plenty of Carp, Perch, Bream & Roach on red maggots. Decent sized perch (see pics).
No carp were bigger than 10LB but i read that there is 25lb+ in there.
Think I will make it my local from now on. Only saw 2 other people on the lake over the whole weekend, could be a hidden gem.

We found this First World War Memorial right in the centre of Tattershall on the Green area close to the main road. It dates back to around 1919 and has the names of those that lost their lives during the First World War from the local area.
It really looks well kept and has railings around the area where it stands. There is a step at the base and then a column rises from the centre with an orb on top.

We visited Tattershall and parked in the Market Place where we found this lovely old historic Market Cross on the small green area.
The cross has several steps around the base and dates back to medieval times. It is in super condition and really well kept.

We visited Tattershall and found this English Heritage property tucked away from the main road between two houses. There is a sign pointing to it from the Market Place where there is limited parking.
This is just the remains of the grammar school for church choristers built in the 1400's and there is not much of the actual building left. There are a couple of information boards giving details of the history and its free to have a look around.
Worth looking at if you are in the area but would not recommend making a special trip to see it.
