Muzeum, założone w 2012 roku w Katowicach, jest jedynym tego typu podmiotem w Polsce, zarejestrowanym w Ministerstwie Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego. Na swoich ekspozycjach prezentuje przekrojową historię informatyki. Bieżąca (w pełni interaktywna) ekspozycja prezentuje ok. 270 komputerów. Wśród nich komputery wielkogabarytowe ( w tym sprzęt produkcji polskiej ODRA 1305, ODRA 1304, PRS4, SMC 10, i wiele innych); komputery 8, 16, 32 bitowe oraz komputery specjalizowane rozrywce czyli konsole do gier i automaty Arcade.
